425 Winter Solstice 3

Everyone bowed their heads as King Rychell passed by on his way to his throne.

When he reached their table, Ailwin could feel hostility directed his way. When he looked up, his eyes met his father's for an instant before Rychell continued going forward.

Mikaela didn't observe the interaction between the two, so when they were able to pick their heads up again, she didn't understand why Ailwin was sweating a little.

"Ailwin…?"

"It's fine."

Ailwin felt his father's power in that instant when their eyes met. It was like Rychell had a fist around his heart.

He had never felt the King's strength before now. Though he was confident he could win the war against him, he doubted he'll be able to win a one on one fight against his father.

"Please be seated." Rychell sat down, allowing everyone to take theirs.

Mikaela glanced over at the throne to get a good look at the King's face.

An appearance similar to Prince Thallan's looked back at her.

At first she was startled by the amazing resemblance between to two. If not for the King being older and the color distinction, she would have thought the two were twins.

As Mika was studying the King's face, Thallan took it upon himself to bring everyone attention to his brother.

"Ailwin. You came?"

Obviously, or you would be talking to be right now. Ailwin picked up his glass of water, not bothering to respond.

"...and you bought Mikaela. By the way, you look beautiful tonight, sweetie."

The familiar way Prince Thallan said her name and was speaking to her, made Mika break out in goosebumps. Especially since she was just staring at the King's face, which is similar to Thallan's. Which caused her mind to confuse the two for a moment.

Hearing their husband speak to their sister so fondly, caused Kamryn and Lula to sneer.

Is he planning to take all my sisters as his wives!? Kamryn tsk underneath her breath.

While Lula on the other hand, thought Mika was purposely try to seduce Thallan. Completely missing the mark, Lula took to antagonizing her.

"Heh... Mikaela, please tell me you did not buy that dress...!" Lula's remark brought everyone's eyes to her sister's gown.

Although she was sitting, some Fae noticed the elegant embroidery and the exceptionally beading going down the dress.

"En…doesn't it look better on me than it would on you." Mika could saw where Lula was going a beat her to the punch.

A few giggles were heard around the hall as the wives and young misses attending tonight, could tell who is more prettier between the two.

"Tch! Yes, it does suit you better. Only a dress that had vomit on it could bring out your beauty!" Lula shouted.

"Huh? Sister, what are you talking about?" Mika blinked her eyes and tilted her head, presenting a baffled expression.

"Don't play dumb! You puked on that dress when I tried to buy it!"

All the Fae who were listening in on their conversation, turned to Mika in disgust.

Whispers began to grow as Madams and young misses of the officials spread what was happening towards the back of the hall.

"Lula, although you do inappropriate things in public…" Mika turned to stare at Prince Thallan and Kamryn in turns, "...that doesn't mean I would."

The whole banquet hall knew what Mikaela was talking about, especially when Kamryn's face turned dark and Prince Thallan began to looked uncomfortable.

"That...but it's true that you did puke on that gown!"

"Is it?" Mika smirked as she picked up her glass of water.

"Yes!...it is...ow!" Lula had stood up out of her seat and pointed her finger in Mika's direction, but Kamyrn couldn't take her sister's stupidity and pulled her back down.

"Shut up." Kamryn said through clench teeth.

"Ow...it hurts! Let go!"

"Then sit down and shut up, you are embarrassing us." Kamryn shook her hand from her sister's arm.

Grabbing the glass of wine on front of her, she took a big gulp. She really didn't want to be here tonight. If it weren't for her mother begging her, she would have stay far away from this humiliation called her younger sister.

Seeing a bruised forming on her arm, Lula was about to complaint to Prince Thallan when she looked over to see him scowling at her.

Feeling wronged, Lula kept quiet, but vowed to get back at Mika by the end of the night.

"Ailwin." A cold deep voice broke the unpleasant mood.

Ailwin looked over to the right to see his father looking at them.

"Who is this female?" Rychell ask, not even glancing at Mikaela as he eyes were solely on his son.

Ailwin did not want to draw attention to Mikaela this evening, but since her sister had already start the show, he might as well introduce her properly.

"This is Mikaela Crystalmist Amara...and she is my fiancée." Ailwin stood up with Mikaela as she bowed to the King.

"My...it seems the Amara clans is full of "wonderful" daughters. My sons can't seem to stay away from them." Rychell backhanded commented made everyone laugh again.

Mika didn't like what the King was insinuating and called him out on it.

"Likewise, the Qinvyre clan seems to have..."sublime" sons, for the females can't seem to stay away from them."

Mika's reply to the King had the hall go silent as most Fae knew that all the Princes, except for Ailwin, are perverted female chasers and the majority of their wives did not marry them willingly.

This masked insult not only stopped the King from making the Amara clan the joke for the evening, but also put the royal family and their spouses in check.

Hmph! My Amara clan may not be perfect, but neither is yours! Mika waited for the King's response. However, Lula, who was so busy trying to get back at her younger sister, chose the wrong time to go against her.

"Of course, the princes are sublime! You think all these females here don't already know that!" Lula gestured to the wives seated to her left.

Happy to bring Mika down anyway she can, Lula didn't realized she added insult to injury with her comment.

Thallan couldn't believe a female could be this stupid.

Kamryn on the other hand, couldn't contain herself anymore and began laughing.
