311 First Encounter 4

Governor Kelim saw the monster moving from shadow to shadow drawing closer to him. The only thing around him was the Bizana estate front gate and a land rover.

Braeden saw him looking his way through the tinted windows and cursed.

"Don't you dare fuckin' come this way….!" Unknown if he heard Braeden's words or not, but Kelim ran towards the land rover at full speed.

"Damnit!" Braeden swore.

Tempted to turn the rover on and drive off before Governor Kelim could reach him, but instead Braeden may sure the door was unlock for him to get inside.

Ailwin released a breath when he saw Braeden's actions. He didn't want to tell his friend to give away his position, but he also didn't want Governor Kelim to lose his life when they could do something to save him.

Standing beside Ailwin, Ruven smiled and his eyes gleam with malicious intent when he saw Braeden's actions.

Things might work out the way Gywennstri wanted them to after all…

Clutching the rover's door handle, Governor Kelim pulled the door open to see Braeden seated  behind the steering.

"You…!"

"Get in." Braeden held out his hand to help Governor Kelim into the rover's passager seat.

*KEKE SCREEEECH!*

Halfway into entering the passager seat, Governor Kelim's body was ripped from the rover so fast that Braeden was still holding his hand.

"Oh, hell no...." Braeden threw Kelim's severed hand out the door and started up the rover's engine.

"Squadron leader...come in!" Braeden's voice shouted out over the soldiers' comms.

"Here, sir." The squad leader replied happy to hear their General's voice.

"Get the panel board out now! I'll be at front door in ten minutes, move it!" Braeden threw his wristband to the dashboard and floored the engines.

The soldiers inside the house knew they didn't have anymore time to waste. Half of them went back to the panel board, separating it from the house as fast as they could while they others guarded their backs.

"Five minutes, men. Let's move it!" The Squadron leader didn't know what had the General panicking but it can't be good from the noise they heard outside.

Braeden swerved the rover around the estate to give his men more time to get to the panel board out, but in doing so he attracted the monster's attention.

He could see it jumping and slinging in and out of shadows along side him. Trying to keep the rover under the household's automatic lights, he was able to stop the thing from attacking the rover for the time being.

The only problem was the front door lights where his were going to exit from were out, making the surrounding area pitch black.

He couldn't have his men walking out into that nor could he stop the rover in such a spot. Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.novelhall.com for visiting.

"Sir, they'll be at the front door in one minute."

"Hold your positions! Do not go outside! I repeat do not go outside!" Braeden circled around the estate again

"Sir…?" The squad stop just shy from reaching the front door.

"Everyone listen up... There is a monster that sticks to the shadows, I will stop the rover in front of the door and flash its lights to give you cover. You must run, it moves fast but you must move faster. Weapons out! On my count….one...two...three...go!" Braeden veered the rover around so the front end face the front door to the house as he directed its lights to shine into the entry way.

Six men came running out of the door, two carrying the panel board and four giving them cover.

"Move! Move! Move! Let's go!" Braeden shouted and pulled out his laser gun from the holster.

Shooting at any movement he saw in the shadows to help his soldiers get to rover, feeling his hands getting sweatier every time he pulled the tigger.

"Sir…" Squad leader called out from the other side of the rover. Seeing everyone was inside, Braeden didn't waste any time in get himself inside and gunning it out of the Bizana estate.

Zooming down the streets, the rover was making good time back to the government building that the men started to let down their guards.

As Braeden took a sharp turn in a dark area, the sound of metal crunching on metal came from outside the rover.

When the street lights hit the land rover again, five claw marks were left on the hood of the rover.

My baby…. Braeden's heart twitch at the lost in value of his baby.

Everyone else in rover felt their guts twist into a tight knot.

Looking ahead into the awaiting darkness on the road, they realized had three more dark turns to make before they could reach the government building.

Braeden prayed the rover last that long.
