Standing in front of the gates of the Bizana clan estate, Governor Kelim and one of his advisors led Prince Ailwin and Braeden inside.

"Are all their soldiers dead? There is no one guarding the gate…?" Braeden observed.

"Yes...along with some of our city's guards, the most of the people that came with the Bizana clan are dead."

"Who is the last one still alive?"

"It's the clan leader of the Bizana clan…" Governor Kelim said. He remembers when he first met the man, he thought the clan leader was kind and generous.

"Why does he choose to stay at the estate if everyone is dead? Who is taking care of him?" Braeden questioned as Kelim's advisor opened the gates, ushering them to come in.

"I don't know...after the plague killed half of the people in the city I stopped caring about what happened to the Bizana members…" Ailwin could hear the disgust and resentment in Kelim's voice. It might have been better if they have asked to see this person alone, hopefully Kelim won't let his emotions get in the way of them finding answers.

"We need to put this on if we are to go any further…" The advisor held out masks that covered their whole faces and gloves.

Once suited up and covered, they walked towards the front courtyard. Ailwin and Braeden couldn't help but look around the estate. The property hadn't been built for more than a couple of months yet it looks so run down and destitute.

"It didn't take long for the citizens to turn against the Bizana clan. When everyone began to get sick, the citizens stormed this estate…" The advisor answered after seeing Ailwin' and Braeden's looks. "...but once the people saw that they too were sick and dying, they took their anger out on estate."

"Hmm…" Ailwin knew fear was a scary thing. It can make people too afraid to even more towards safety and it can make people act out to relieve their sense of fear. Obviously the citizens choose the later.

Reaching the main building, Governor Kelim moved the front door aside as it was just hanging on by one of its hinges to allow everyone to enter.

Once inside, a foul odor hit Ailwin and Braeden right in the gut.

"Ugh!...wha-oh gods…"Braeden ran back outside with Ailwin right on his heels.

Governor Kelim and his advisor followed them right back out as well.

"What was that stench!?" Ailwin coughed as he was trying to breath in deep breaths to clear the odor from his nose.

"That is the smell of the infected…" Kelim and his advisor knew to expect the odor, they had almost grown use to it. They have forgot to tell Prince Ailwin and Braeden to prepare themselves  for it.

Once Ailwin and Braeden were well enough again to continue they tried to enter the building for the second time.

Standing in the front hall, they could barely breath as the stench was too much. Even as they were breathing through their mouths it felt like someone was stuffing the most foulest rags into their mouths and down their throats.

Sweat began to coat their foreheads and body the deeper they went in.  Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.novelhall.com for visiting.

"Where...is the....clan leader?" Ailwin wanted out of this house, why weren't we seeing the clan leader yet?

"Here…" The advisor pointed to a closed door.

Kelim and his advisor stood off to the side allowing for either Ailwin or Braeden to open the door.

Braeden out his hand on the door nob to twist it open when Ailwin stopped him.

"Wait…" Turning to look at the Governor and the advisor, Ailwin asked, "Is there anything we should know before entering this room?" They didn't let them know about the smell, he didn't want anymore surprises coming his way.

"The smell will become more...potent,  and the sight that you will see of the clan leader...just try not to throw-up." Governor Kelim said.

"Okay…" Ailwin nodded for Braeden to open the door.

Twisting the nob, Braeden pushed open the door and allowed it the swing all until it hit the wall.

Inside the room was dark and the raspy sound of breathing could be heard from across the room.

"Light." Ailwin ordered. Instant bright lights flooded the room as the home's monitoring system was still working, making the thing on the bed moan in despair.

Inside the grand bedroom, only a large bedframe remain intact as countless furnitures figments were toss all over the floor.

The bed was covered with silk curtains, making it impossible for them to see the clan leader. All they could see was a dark outline of a lump on the mattress.

"Hello, clan leader of the Bizana clan?" Ailwin called out.

"….eee..mmgh…"
