Freya looked at the man as he spoke in an unfriendly tone. The smile on her face disappeared slightly as she pouted. “My dad doesn’t have a bad temper like you.”

Gideon cast a cold look at her.

Freya bit her lip. Moments later, she smiled with dimples on her face. “Why don’t you take a bite now? The noodles won’t taste nice if you eat them cold.”

Gideon continued looking at her with a complete disregard for the bowl of noodles in front of him.

Freya’s lip-biting advanced to pure gritting of her teeth as she clenched her fists tightly. She looked at the dignified man and did not know what to do.

One minute later, she finally looked at the man and smiled gently. “Mr. Carter… aren’t you hungry?”

The cautious look on her face seemed to appease Gideon, so his face finally did not look as stern.

He said, “From now on, you are not allowed to nag me.”

“Huh? Okay.” Freya nodded obediently.

Gideon finally lowered his head to look at the bowl of noodles. He picked up his fork and took some noodles before slamming the fork back on top of the bowl.

Freya frowned. “What’s wrong?”

“Idon’t eat vegetables.”

The moment he finished his sentence, Freya tumed and walked off.

Gideon glanced at her from behind and scrutinized her.

A minute later, she came back with a bowl and a fork.

She sat down beside Gideon with the bowl and fork and removed the vegetables as she said, “Vegetables are good for you. Also, they don’t have a strong smell. I think it is better if you eat some of this since it is healthy.”

Since Freya had suddenly sat down beside Gideon, he could catch her scent. He automatically frowned.

He narrowed his eyes as he watched the woman remove vegetables from the bowl of noodles.

Freya had a milky complexion and her long wavy hair went past her shoulders with some of it covering the side of her face. It made her look warm and gentle. She looked particularly serious when she took out the vegetables.

After putting down the fork, Freya suddenly turned her head.

She promptly looked into the man’s deep dark eyes.

The unexpected eye contact made Gideon pause for a second before he quickly glared at Freya. Then, he looked down at the bowl of noodles in disdain.

Freya was speechless.

Gideon stood up without saying a word and went to the stairs.

Freya asked from behind, “I have already removed the vegetables, Aren’t you going to eat it?”

The man answered with four words without even turning his head, “Is it still edible?”

Freya looked at the bowl of noodles. After picking the vegetables out of the noodles, the food no longer looked appetizing. However, she answered, “Uh huh.”

The moment she finished her sentence, she automatically covered her mouth.

Gideon had just warned her about talking too much.

Freya glanced at the staircase. Gideon had opened the study door and gone in.

She was about to veer her eyes away when she paused briefly. Then, she stood up and went upstairs.

Freya stood outside the study and knocked on the door, but no one answered.

Just as she was about to try a second time, the study door suddenly opened. It felt as though Gideon’s eyes were shooting daggers at Freya, so she took half a step back instinctively..
