Gideon glanced at the woman with his imposing eyes. “Abigail, I suggest you stay out of my business.”

Abigail Davis quickly shut up.

Although she did not bring up the subject, it was clear from her eyes that she kept speculating about Freya and Ashley’s relationship with Gideon.

Meanwhile, at Bay View Garden at night, Freya lay in bed in the main room after taking a bath.

She scratched her head powerlessly as she kept thinking of how to handle the fees for the old folks’ home.

She turned sideways and contemplated. Maybe she could ask her manager for an advance on her pay tomorrow morning?

After thinking for a while, Freya felt a little tired. She was about to sleep when the bedroom door suddenly swung open.

Freya could hear someone enter the room, so she suddenly felt tense.

She did not move and simply continued lying on her side, trying to sleep.

The bed in the main bedroom was very large, so Freya only took up a small corner of the bed.

She quietly prayed Gideon would not do anything to her and leave her to sleep in peace.

Freya heard Gideon coming out of the bathroom roughly ten minutes later.

The man walked over to the bedside, pulled open the blanket, and got in.

Freya could sense the mattress sinking on his side a little and could not help feeling nervous.

After a few minutes, the man’s steady breathing could be heard.

She felt relieved to see the man genuinely asleep.

Although she felt a lot better from her fever last night, she was not yet entirely well. Since she was having a headache, she could not resist raising her hand to rub her temple.

The man seemed to sense her actions, so he suddenly sat up and turned on the bedside lamp.

When he saw someone lying on the other side of the bed, he brusquely yanked the blanket from her half of the bed!

Freya instantly sat up in shock and frowned as she looked at Gideon. “What are you doing?”

The man looked at her angrily. “Who said you could come in? Get out. Get out this instant!”

Freya did not expect Gideon to suddenly lose it. She felt miserable when she heard what he said. She asked softly, “Nora is already sleeping at this hour and the guest room isn’t ready. If I leave, where will I sleep?”

“I don’t care,” said the man curtly.

Freya could only cautiously get off of the bed. After turning off the bedside lamp, Freya walked out of the room in pure darkness. When she got to the headboard, she accidentally walked into the bed. She winced out loud as she gritted her teeth.

After Freya went downstairs, she sat on the couch and went into a daze. In no time, she became so tired that she fell into a fitful sleep.

The next morning, Freya woke up before Nora did. After washing up, she went into the kitchen. She was halfway preparing breakfast when Nora woke up. Nora hurriedly wanted to take over the job, but Freya turned her down.

When Gideon came downstairs at 7:00 a.m, Freya had already finished preparing breakfast and Nora was helping to place the food on the dining table.

The moment Gideon came downstairs, Nora told him excitedly, “Sir, Madam woke up first thing in the morning and made you breakfast. Would you like to have some?”

Freya quietly served the soup.

After interacting with him for two nights and one meal, she had an inkling of what the man was like.

He hated her and she knew exactly why.

Hence, she simply did her job as his wife and avoided talking to him.

After Freya had placed the soup on the dining table, the man walked into the dining room and threw the food she had painstakingly prepared all morning onto the ground.

Freya watched in shock as he said angrily, “Since she has already done your duty as a maid, you may leave.”
