142 Am I?

Name:Hidden Hallows Author:Blissfullrage
I bite my lower lip and slowly reach up to lightly touch his leg as I say "Me running from you? Ha... never. Just hypothetically speaking... how far can you hear?" He slowly starts to smile but I can still see the cruel twist at the tips of his lips as he says "If you're asking if I heard you and your mother, yes. I did in fact hear... everything."

I nervously lick my lips before slowly running my hand up his long leg. His eyes dance with amusement as I slowly make my way up to his thigh and whisper "Just for the record, I didn't know you at that time. I'm sure you've been with many others."

His smile grows but his eyes darken as he leans in close and whispers "The only woman I've ever touched was you, dollface." My hand freezes as I look up into his dark red eyes with surprise. Suddenly, my mother comes around the corner.

I push Kian's leg and smile as my mother says "Okay, I've got them. Let's move to the kitchen table. Do you have a map of the city?" I awkwardly nod and say "Yeah, let me grab it real quick. Kian's eyes follow my every move as I grab the maps and walk over to the kitchen with my mom.

I lay the map out and place stones on the edges to keep the map from rolling up and to protect against outside magic. Kian leans against the kitchen wall, still silently watching my every move as my mother brings over a bowl of water and two cloth bags.

"Okay, I need you to help me. Concentrate on what your brother and father look like." She says opening the two bags. I look to the bags with a frown, curious as to what she has as she starts the locating spell.

I watch her pour hair from both bags into the bowl of water and smirk. Leave it to her to steal hair... I close my eyes and do as she says. Thinking about the day I met both of them and what each one of them looked like... smelled like.

My mother does the same as she mixes the water and chants a spell. After mixing the hair and water together, she scoops out a handful and splashes it onto the map. At first, nothing happens but slowly, the water starts to move.

The water starts to move around and around until it looks like someone is stirring the small puddle with an invisible spoon. My eyes narrow as the water starts to move towards the house. MY house. As the small puddle comes to a stop right over my house, my eyes dart up to my mother in confusion.

Did she make a mistake? I don't do spells so this isn't my field but as I look back down at the map, I see all the water spinning around and around my house before coming to a complete stop. When I look back up to my mother, I see her looking down at the map with just as much confusion as me.

She mumbles "Impossible... this doesn't make sense. Let's try this again. Focus Eris." I keep my mouth shut and nod my head. Something tells me the outcome this time around will be the same as before..

I close my eyes and focus but when I open my eyes and find that we indeed have the same result, I can't help but deflate a little. My mother runs her hands through her hair as she says "This can't be... I don't understand what this means."

I reach over and rub her shoulder as I say "We'll figure it out, okay?" She slowly nods her head as her blue eyes remained locked onto the map. I glance up to see Kian staring at the map with a frown as well.

I take a few steps back and silently stare at the map. We got the same result twice... I tilt my head to the side and slowly start walking around the table while keeping my eyes on the map. Let's assume Enzo really did have my mother, father, and Liam.

I quickly glance at my mother. She was in the form of a soul so she would've been handled differently... stored differently but assuming that my father and Liam were still alive... they would be held separately.

Knowing Enzo... he likes to play games in twisted ways. I come to a slow stop and ask "That locating spell... Can it locate the living or the dead? Or... both?" My mother looks up to me with confusion before I see fear creeping into her eyes before saying "Technically, the living but it can locate the dead if the spell caster is strong enough to search the spirit realm."

I stare at her in silence as she starts shaking her head and says "No, I'm not strong enough to do that right now. I'm still regaining my strength." I lift my hand and say "Let me do it." She reaches out and grabs the bowl while keeping her eyes locked on me.

I feel my heart ache for her as I say "Mom, whether I do it now or later, it won't change the outcome. Hell, maybe we still have a chance at saving them if I do this now rather than later." Her blue eyes start to water as she slowly lets go of the bowl and steps back with her fists clenched.

I nod my head at her and glance to Kian. He keeps a stern look on his perfect face before he nods his head and says "Hurry" I look back to the bowl as I push the old water away. I slightly cut my finger, allowing a drop of my blood to fall into the water before using my magic to stir it.

I dip my hand in and pull out a handful before throwing it onto the map. I push my will and think of my father and brother. The water immediately starts to move straight for my house before spinning right above it just like it did before but the spinning begins to pick up speed!

The table starts to shake, seconds before the water starts to glow! What in the...
