I push myself up and look at the burnt hole with a sinking feeling in my heart. I slowly look up to the dark sky, ignoring the rain as I feel a new kind of fear wash over me. When I hear something behind me, I turn around to see the cage Kian was in falling apart!

As soon as he's free, he's before me and scooping me up into a crushing hug. I feel tears burning my eyes as I squeeze him back and bury my nose into his chest. I take a deep breath and feel myself calming as the rain suddenly starts to ease up.

The sun was starting to rise... When I feel Kian stiffen, I lean back to see him looking at something behind me. I frown and turn around to see... My mother! She was in nothing but a solid white dress, walking towards me barefoot as the rain turns into a light sprinkle.

Tears overflow as I turn around as whisper "How... are... how..." I take a single step forward as my mother and I lock eyes with one another. My legs feel like they're about to give out but I force myself to take another step.

The sun begins to rise, right behind her, washing her silhouette in bright light as I take another unsteady step towards her. How... is this a dream? I don't understand... Her blue eyes fill with tears as she opens her arms.

I feel my breath catch before I go running to her. Everything disappears as my vision clouds over with tears but when I hit a very solid body, I burst into sobs of joy. She tightly wraps her arms around me and coos at me as I cry like a baby.

My legs finally give and before you know it, we're both on the ground crying. She strokes my back and says "Breathe my child, breathe." I hiccup and struggle to do just that as I lean back to look over her face.

It's her... it's really her! I reach up and touch her face as my heart breaks all over again. In a broken voice, I ask "How?" Tears fill her eyes as she says "I was told, that this is a gift to you from the heavens. For completing a task and not giving in to the temptations along the way."

I tear up and start sobbing all over again as I lean over and hug her. I cry and cry while saying "Why didn't they tell me they would bring you back!? I would have worked twice as hard! What if I gave in to the temptations!? I could have lost you forever!!"

I feel her chuckle as she says "Silly child, you are my child and I raised you better than that." I close my eyes and rest my chin on her shoulder before opening my eyes and looking up. I whisper "Thank you." and hug her again.

As I pull away I look up and see a large rainbow right over us as Kian walks up with a gentle smile. He helps us both up but when I hear something behind me, I turn around to see the humans, witches, shifters, and other fae walking up to us with mixed emotions.

I lift a hand to protect my mother as I stand to face the others but when I recognize a familiar face, the witch nods to me and says "As of today, Eris Hallows and her kind are pardoned. We thank you, Eris. For fighting for us... even when we didn't believe in you. When we threatened you and hunted you... We apologize for being so foolish."

Xander steps up with some of his pack and nods as Ambrose steps into the street in his finest suit. Ambrose gives me a sexy smirk as the humans start cheering. I feel myself starting to relax when the witches start walking away.

Xander and his pack start helping to clear the road as the others all pitch in. I turn back to my mother and slip my hand in hers and Kian's before saying "Let's go home."

When we finally walk up to the house, I see Binx and the Dragon sitting side by side with each other. The Dragon was back to the size of an owl. I smile at the two as Binx says "It's about ti..." When his eyes land on my mother, he freezes.

A loud caw is heard, causing all of us to look up and find Eon, my mother's familiar! Binx bursts into his shifter form and flies straight into Eon. The two flip back and forth until Eon is standing on Binx's head. I giggle at the two of them as the house opens the front door in greeting.

As we walk in, I lead my mom to the couch and have her sit as I go to make her coffee but Kian has already beaten me to it! He gives me a knowing smile and leans down to place a kiss on my forehead before saying "Go to your mother."

I give him a grateful smile before quickly walking back to find my mother petting Eon on the head. She looks up and smiles at me before asking "Where's your father and brother?" My smile falters as I say "I... I don't know. I need to find them. They were taken the night you... the night you died."

She looks at me in shock before standing up and hugging me tightly. She leans in and whispers "I'm so sorry you've had to take on all of this alone. I'm so sorry..." My eyes tear up a little before I shake my head and lean back to say "I wasn't alone. I had Binx and I found Kian or maybe I should say he found me. I've even made a few friends along the way."

She smiles at me with tears in her eyes and says "My strong girl... I'm so proud of you. I have no idea what you've gone through but... I can feel it. Your soul has gone through a lot." Kian walks into the room with two full cups of coffee causing my mom and I both to smile.

Kian hands one cup to my mom and the other to me as I say "Mom, this is Kian. The man who saved me more times than I can count. He saved my soul." My mother smiles up at Kian before saying "She always did have a thing for bad boys. Welcome to the family, Kian. Thank you for saving my daughter."

Kian smiles and shakes his head before looking to me. He then looks back to my mother and says "She's the one who saved me."
