Chapter 115: Slow

The red glow stopped and Alex looked at the other gremlins back away. "My health only returned a tiny bit, but I got a lot more manaa… I was lucky that I had an explanation on how healing worked by Oj yesterday… If not for him, I wouldn't have figured out this new technique by myself." Alex looked a bit proud.

He jumped around the room, punching as many gremlins he could see. Some of his punches gave him his mana back while many didn't have that effect. Alex still hadn't properly figured out the entire thing yet so his success rate of doing the leaching punch was only 30 percent. But with time and endurance, Alex finally killed the last gremlin. Once the final gremlin was killed, Alex took a deep breath and fell to the ground, Breathing heavily. "It's… finally… over…"

Oj, Midnight, Mary, and Imani all walked into the room with serious expressions. All four of them in black attire. Ryan looked at them and smiled, "Well, you all look ready for the mission." He stood up and indicated for everyone to take their seats.

Ryan then looked at everyone and took a deep breath, "As I said before, Oj and Mary investigate the military factory. Imani and midnight investigate the brotherhood of Freedom. I will need you all to play your strengths and I need all of you to do your jobs well. So, now that is out of the way…"

His attention turned to Mary and Oj," Mary and Oj will head into the military base, and quietly observe the captains. We need proper information about them and all of their recent activities. We already have permission from the military so it shouldn't be too difficult but this is a secret mission so no one else but the general and us five know about this. Let's try to keep it that way. After you two investigate the captains, investigate the factories. We have the documents for the factory and it shows that no emps were used or asked for recently so it must have been a worker or a guard. You need to investigate all of this." 

Ryan then turned to Midnight and Imani, "You two have a simpler job. Investigate the Brotherhood of Freedom. I have all the latest information that shadow has gathered for me until now so use that as well. We have many suspected buildings of operations for that terrorist group so take your time and go through them properly. Just ignore the ones that have red cross marks on them. They have already been investigated. Take lethal actions if you have to but try to stay away from killing. We are the awakened bureau, the last thing we try to do is kill people. That's the job for the military." Ryan then turned around and took a seat.

The two teams nodded and looked at each other. They all seemed very serious about all of this and were ready for the mission. They stood up and walked to Ryan. Ryan nodded and spoke, "You can start now, I have sent you all the documents that are needed for the mission to your phones so you can look at that for now. If more information is needed, call me." 

Ryan made a serious expression, "This is a very important thing and I trust you four will go through with these missions properly and with proper caution. And if you need to, go all out. We will not let an attack on our facilities be taken so lightly. The initial attacks have just ignited the fire, but that emp strike was a few hundred gallons of fuels being poured onto that fire. This is not only for the sake of our secrets but for the sake of our pride. We won't let anyone get away after messing with us without harsh consequences." He looked a small bit angry. 

The four nodded when they heard Ryan. Midnight walked to Ryan and smiled, "Don't worry about that, We will get to the end of this and get those who were involved… But for now, answer my question." Ryan nodded when he heard Midnight, "what is the question?"

Midnight smiled and looked around the room, "I swear that I saw Vis somewhere when we initially entered the room when master Zhun was still here. But as soon as we all entered the room, he went away… That says to me that you have Vis on a certain mission as well and he was here before us to learn about that mission, what might that be?" She was curious.

Ryan smiled when he heard Midnight, "Vis is also investigating the Brotherhood, well… He was. His new mission is searching the place where an officer was said to have gone missing. The red crosses are the places where Hana and Vis have gone through to investigate on their own but it resulted in nothing. Now that Vis has a new job, you two will be going over this mission. Now, go! I have more paperwork to deal with here in the office." Ryan thought back at the stack of papers in his office and sighed.

Midnight and Imani nodded and walked out of the room. Oj and Mary also walked out of the room. Ryan followed behind and went to his office, "This is going to be annoying to manage… I just hope that Whatever caused Hana to be so angry will just go away."

"Hmm" Alex stood up when he heard the same deep voice. He looked around to see that he was in the same thick white fog once again. 

"It seems what I thought of you was correct… It was slow and I expected you to be quicker to thinking but still, not everyone could have done that. For an average man, it would have been nearly impossible as they wouldn't have the required knowledge but you seemed to know how healing works and reversed the logic to learn that technique. Now, we have a new challenge for you… Something that will be more difficult!" Alex felt as if he was falling once more, the temperature around him was increasing as well.
