Chapter 101 - Transfer Of Aggression

"What do you think you were doing there?" Hoy's mother asked, following him inside his room immediately he went inside.

"I should be asking you the exact question. What did you think you were doing scolding me like that?"

"He was a guest! How could you attack him like that in front of everybody? What was your plan?"

"A guest?" He asked with ridicule laced in his voice.

"You should talk to aunt and let her know this should be the last time I see him amongst us. If he so much as try to approach anyone else, I won't hold myself back."

"Li Ho—"

"Ah! And also, I won't appreciate it the next time you scold me like that. I am being serious."

"Why are you overreacting like this? Someone would think you have a special feeling for Joreen or something!" His mother yelled at him.

"Calm down you two. The house is going to fall to the ground if you keep quarreling." His older brother, Li Minde entered inside the room and looked at the two of them.

"Everyone can hear you two quarreling." He informed them before going to sit on the chair.

The two finally kept quiet after the realization.

"And mother... he is right. What you did there wasn't right. That guy isn't the type of person one can handle lightly. In fact, we are all supposed to be worried." He said.

"And little brother has been in charge of taking care of Joreen for a while now, it is only normal for him to react that way. I would have reacted that way too. It doesn't matter whether he has a special feeling for her or not."

The woman scoffed. She couldn't believe her two sons were against her right now. She eyed the two before storming out of the room while looking angry.

"Whew! That didn't go too well." Minde said, looking away from the door to look at his brother.

"You should calm down. Everything was handled perfectly. Good thing Joreen got to give him her decision. Hopefully, he won't trouble her anymore."

Hoy nodded. Something told him this wasn't going to end here but he simply nodded so his brother would quickly leave him alone.

Minde stood up and walked towards the door, but he stopped and turned around, "We can have a drink or two later tonight. You seem like you'll need it."

He did. He really did.

"Sure."

After Minde left, he remained inside his room, thinking deeply until he heard a knock.

"It's me." It was Mr Ping. Hoy was a little surprised he was arriving earlier than he had expected.

"Come in." He said and sat up.

Mr Ping entered inside the room with a laptop and small water flask in both hands and went to sit on the couch inside the room, placing the laptop and flask on top of the table.

"How are you doing?" He asked, looking directly at Hoy who sat down beside him.

"Cut it out. What did you find?" Hoy asked in a tight voice.

"Look, I know you. You are angry and you feel grumpy right now, I get it. But you have to calm down." He advised. "So I got you this soothing tea from the resort. Heard it makes one relax."

He picked up the steel water flask and handed it over to him. Hoy looked at it skeptically before opening it to take a sip followed by a big gulp.

"You were very angry back there weren't you?" Mr Ping asked quietly. "And you still can't believe he had the guts to demand something like that so brazenly. Must have been embarrassing."

"Are you trying to piss me off?" Hoy asked with a frown.

"No... I am trying to analyze the reason for your grumpiness. Admitting it would make you feel better."

"Did you find anything?" Hoy asked, deciding to ignore the other things he had said.

"Yes."

"Faster than I expected." Hoy said as he scooted closer to the laptop's screen.

"It actually took me less that twenty minutes to retrieved it. God bless technology." He spoke as he began to operate his laptop. "They only needed his picture to run it through their system, alongside the footage of that party night."

"So he met Joreen?" Hoy asked.

"Here!" Mr Ping hit the play botton in his laptop while Hoy watched carefully. He didn't even want to blink because he felt he would miss something vital.

The footage was zoomed to focus on someone who was staggering while walking and he immediately recognized the person as Joreen.

Her eyes were focused somewhere as she walked so she didn't pay attention to anything else until she bumped into man— Wei Yong. The footage clearly showed both of them so Hoy could tell it was taken from the side.

Wei Yong's angry face came into view but when he got a closer look of her face, he smiled.

"What a perverted bastard." Hoy swore under his breath.

He wasn't sure Mr Ping got him a soothing tea as he claimed because he felt even more angry now.

Wei Yong asked Joreen something but she ignored him. She kept her eyes elsewhere. He said something again and smiled but she ignored him and tried to walk away. He immediately blocked her path. Wherever she turned to, he appeared in front of her while keeping a smile on his face.

Joreen finally said something to him, she probably turned him down. But he looked like he wasn't pleased with it.

He said something again before the person behind him whispered something into his ears. He looked a bit flustered and said one last thing before finally allowing Joreen pass.

Wei Yong's eyes followed her, then he turned and said something to the man beside him before walking away with a smile playing on his lips.

"That was the only interaction they had that night. After this, he returned to his room with a young woman."

Hoy forced out a laugh in disbelief.

"He mentioned they clicked instantly." Hoy remembered. "Are you sure they weren't any other interaction?"

"There wasn't. It was probably his wild imagination. I looked him up and called a friend who told me a case was filed against him early this year by a teenager who complained about being harassed by him. He went as far as beating up her boyfriend but the case was swept under the rug because the girl and her said boyfriend were both normal citizens without money or connection. According to her, he promised to sign her up in the fashion and modelling company he partners with, that's B and Y agency. But he kept making sexual advances at her and when she rebuked him, he hit her. Her boyfriend wanted to fight for her and got severely beaten up."

"Was there other similar cases?" Hoy asked.

"Of course. Apparently, he can do whatever he likes and get away with it. Same goes for his cousin Wei Chan– He is the son of Wei Corporation's chairman. He is also known to be a violent person."

"Does it run in their blood?" Hoy asked with disinterest.

"Maybe... maybe not."

"We should let them enjoy this trip." Hoy said with a smirk, "I. WILL. MAKE. SURE. TO. THROW. THOSE. BASTARDS. IN. JAIL." He said with an evil glint in his eyes.

"Bastards? You mean you are going to throw Wei Yong and Wei Chan in jail?" Mr Ping asked. "I mean... we are more concerned about Wei Yong but he didn't assault Miss Luo or anything. Throwing him in jail is one thing, throwing his cousin in jail alongside him... that is...."

"He had the guts to think about coveting Joreen. That is enough reason for me. Let me know everyone who had fallen victims in his hands. I will help them fight for justice." He said darkly, trying to imagine him harassing Joreen like he did with the other girl.

"What a philanthropist you are." Mr Ping said, almost rolling his eyes.

"And what about Wei Chan? He is not involved in this case."

"Being related to that bastard is enough reason for me to throw him in jail. But because I am nice, I'll need to make sure there is a valid reason for my action. So also give me whatever information you can find on him. Let me also know his victims."

Mr Ping wanted to warn him about what he was planning to do but his phone began to ring. When he took it out, he sighed deeply and mumbled, "Why is this boy still troubling me?" He asked himself before ending the call.

"Who is it?" Hoy asked as he stood up from the couch.

"My younger brother."

There was a little pause before Hoy asked, "The one who likes Joreen? He is still interested in her?"

Mr Ping absentmindedly answered while shutting down his laptop, "Of course! He still asks about her whenever he calls. I'm sure that's the reason he is calling now."

Hoy was quiet for a moment before he spoke again.

"He is also the one who hangs out with bad gangs, and is still hanging out with them right?" Hoy asked nonchalantly as he went to sit on his bed instead.

Mr Ping's head snapped up immediately.

"You know that's crime?" Hoy asked.

"Uhm... I... mean... he doesn't like Miss Luo at all. He... has a girlfriend already." Mr Ping stuttered while smiling awkwardly.

Hoy gave him a gentle smile as he said, "Of course he doesn't."

"How can he be so possessive about a girl who isn't even aware about his feelings for her." Mr Ping muttered to himself as he carried his laptop and hurried out of the room.

It seemed like Li Hoy was looking for people to transfer his aggression to.
