Chapter 8:Raceless

Name:Heartless Author:My_Day
"As we still have time, let's go back to the previous question, shall we? It is in fact possible to be raceless," I told the class.

"If you are the first and only one of you kind then it is given that you may create your own race.

"However, there are certain requirements to become a race. Such as the possibility of being able to pass on the blood line.

"Take a Poolka for example. Even though only one poolka can exist, if he mates with any species, his first son will always be a poolka.

"Yes Sylvan?"

"So you're raceless for the single fact that you cannot pass on your bloodline?" he asked.

"For now, yes," I replied, "in the case that I am able to pass down my bloodline then perhaps I will have my own race. However, not all raceless are blessed with the ability of passes down their bloodline."

"So how to we acknowledge....or categorize the raceless. I mean, the raceless itself isn't a race, so how do we recognize them?" another child asked, doing her best to put her thoughts into words. Different from other speakers, she had that British accent American's always loved.

'Name: Elizabeth Neyland

Race: Fey

"They take up names or titles. Much like how the celebrities in your race take up titles. Take The Little Prince for example. The raceless have titles such as Death or Timeless and such."

"Then wouldn't it be no different from having a race?" Sylvan asked.

"It's very different. As you will notice, the difference between a raceless title a being with a title is that a raceless may not have The in their title. Adding to that, most raceless are also nameless. Born without a name or living too long that they have long forgotten their names."

"How come you have a name then?" A student asked.

'Name: William Køpmannæhafn

Race: Leprechuan

Skill: Earning money'

"School requirements," I told him.

"What is your title?" Olivia asked.

"Keeper."

"What's the difference between someone with a race and someone without a race?"the human asked.

'Name: Kelvin Tang

Species: Human

Skill: Photographic Memory'

"A person who has a race has a greater chance of having their race back them up. However, they are subjected to the ranking system while the raceless isn't. As we are rare, we aren't part of the ranking system, but we also don't have any backing.

Adding to that, we are ageless and have a duty. Most of us aren't allowed emotions as it will interfere with our jobs. Also, the more powerful a raceless is, the greater the retribution and the responsibilities.

If you were in a race however, you could possibly live worry free if your race is kind. Adding to that, no matter how powerful you are, you wouldn't be punished in anyway."

And like that, the bell rang and the class was over.

"Class dismissed," I told them, making them bolt from their seat. A few more hours until the last class, perhaps I shall take another nap.
