Chapter 89 - Vol. 3: Noah To Haru - 89

Mason

Mason felt his stomach churning sickly when he received the text message from Haru. It said: Mason, just want to let you know I’m on St. Joseph Island with Noah. Please don’t worry about me. I’m fine.

He could only stare at the message. Just how the hell did Haru end up on St. Joseph Island with Noah?

He texted back, demanding answers. Haru promptly replied with: Something happened and Noah brought me here with him. Everything is fine. Please don’t worry about me.

Just how was everything fine when he was on St. Joseph Island with Noah alone? Mason wondered. That bastard second brother of theirs was undoubtedly going to confess to Haru and then fuck the hell out of the boy; he knew it.

Fuck! He clicked on Haru’s name and pushed on the call button, but it went unanswered. Haru was probably busy talking to Aiden.

Mason raked his fingers through his hair, his mind racing. It looked like he’d have to change plans. If he continued to dither and wait around until he finally graduated from the university and got himself a job, he’d never get Haru. The boy’s time and attention would mostly be taken by both Aiden and Noah, and of course, his studies, so paying attention to Mason’s subtle hint at seduction was never going to work.

A pair of soft breasts pressed themselves against Mason’s back, followed by a female voice asking, “What ya doing? I thought you came to have some fun.”

Mason removed the slender arms from around his shoulders and stood up from the bed. “Sorry, I need to get home. Family emergency.”

The woman pouted. “You always have a family emergency.” She sighed. “Must be about that brother of yours again, eh? You never stop talking about him.” She smiled slyly. “He must be so damn cute for you to be using me to fill that dark void of yours. Why not introduce him to me sometime? I’d love to meet the boy who managed to warm the heart of one of the most frigid men on the planet.”

Mason said, his gorgeous face an impassive mask, “Sorry, Haru is precious. Meeting him is out of the question.”

Elizabeth snorted. “It’s not like I’ll steal him away. Just curious, that’s all.”

“I mean it, Elizabeth,” Mason said. “No funny business where Haru is concerned.”

Elizabeth waved, agitated. “Ugh! Whatever. Just leave already. You got my hopes up coming here. I thought I was going to get a real good fuck, but I guess not.”

Picking up his backpack, Mason said, “See you later.”

Once the door was shut, Elizabeth sighed, depressed. Looked like she’d never get Mason to fall for her, huh? His mind was always on that little brat Haru. Just how beautiful was that boy anyway? What was so good about him? Mason was bisexual, so she knew he could have a relationship with a female just fine. It wasn’t like he only liked men, so what did that brat Haru have that she didn’t?

Elizabeth continued to ponder this while Mason rode the train back to the family’s apartment. When he came in through the door half an hour later, Isaac asked, “Did you get Haru’s text?”

Mason nodded. “Yeah, what happened?”

“Aiden talked to both Noah and Haru,” Isaac said. “Apparently, they’re on St. Joseph Island, and Aiden is going there on Wednesday.”

The two came into the living area, and Mason demanded, “Aiden? What’s going on?”

Aki in his arms, Aiden said, “Noah took Haru to St. Joseph Island with him.”

“Why? What for?” Mason asked.

“Noah has work there,” Aiden said.

Sitting on the sofa, Reo said, “So what do we do? I mean I know you’re going, Aiden, but what about us three? Spring break starts next week, right?”

Isaac jumped, getting the gist of Reo’s unspoken suggestion. “Yeah, that’s a good idea. We should all go to St. Joseph Island. I can totally skip classes on Friday.”

Mason said, “Me too. I only have one class. It’s not important. I can skip that.”

Reo eyed Mason, knowing it was very out of Mason’s character to skip class for anything. He was an honor student, after all. But he guessed for Haru, Mason would do anything. He wondered if he should be happy or sad that Haru could literally wrap three of the four Davis’ brothers around his little finger without knowing it.

He chuckled and then said, “Awesome. That means we’re going to St. Joseph Island for spring break then. But how long are we staying there? The hotel is expensive.”

Aiden nodded. “I’ll check and see if they have an apartment there we can rent for a week or so.”

“Yay! Awesome!” Isaac shouted. Then he added, “And don’t forget to tell Connor. He said he’s keen to come along, too, if we go there.”

Aiden nodded. “Then I’ll get in contact with him.”

“And I’ll get started on making dinner,” Reo said.

“I’ll help,” Isaac offered, which Reo accepted.

Discussion done, Mason headed up to his room. After putting his bag down, he slumped onto his bed and stared up at the ceiling. His heart was aching something fierce.

Fuck, but he wanted Haru. He wanted to hold the boy in his arms, and he yearned to kiss the boy again, this time with Haru knowing that he, Mason, loved him from the depths of his soul.

“Haru,” he whispered the boy’s name softly between his lips.. “I love you.”
