Chapter 55 - Vol. 3: Noah To Haru - 55

Haru

I didn’t have much to unpack since most of my stuff was books. I’d have to wait for my new bookcase to arrive on Monday to start that. For now, it was mostly my clothes, which weren’t a lot, and it didn’t take me long to transfer and then arrange them neatly inside the walk-in closet. After I was done, I headed down the stairs in search of Aiden. Maybe he’d need help with his, since he had so many clothes, most of them suits for work.

At the hallway, I gave Noah’s bedroom door a quick glance. Noting it was shut, I breathed a sigh of relief.

Fuck, it had gotten to that point. I couldn’t believe it was that bad. Honestly, I tried not to dwell too much on the fact that I felt tense and jumpy whenever Noah was around.

I turned my attention to Aiden’s bedroom door and saw that it was slightly ajar. I headed to it and gave it a light knock before going inside.

“Aiden?” I called softly.

“In here,” he replied.

I went into his walk-in closet and saw him arranging his stuff. I couldn’t help but chuckle at the scene. Aiden was surrounded by his clothing—suit jackets, pants, and shirts everywhere.

“Want some help?” I asked.

He gave me a gorgeous smile, his eyes twinkling. “That’d be great.”

I picked up a suit jacket and asked, “You think I’ll have to wear something like this, too? When I start working after I graduate?”

Aiden turned to me and said, “Most likely.” He chuckled. “Wonder what you’d look like wearing a suit.”

“I reckon I’d look like shit,” I said, laughing. “I can’t imagine myself wearing one. I wonder if I can get away with just a pair of jeans and a formal work shirt.”

“Very unlikely,” Aiden said. “Although...” He came around and wrapped his arm around my waist. Then he proceeded to bury his face against my hair. “I think you’ll look great in a kimono. Uncle Jin always wear a kimono when he works at the hotel, doesn’t he?”

I nodded. “He does.”

“Then you should do the same when you start working there,” he said. “You’ll look great.” His hands were already slipping under my sweater, caressing my skin, and inching their way toward my nipples.

Aiden, that sneaky bastard.

I pushed his determined hands away from my body and moved out of his arms before he had the chance to start driving me crazy.

Standing at a safe distance away from him, I said, my voice hoarse, “Not today, Aiden.”

The man folded his arms across his chest and asked, “Oh, I see you’ve gotten tired of me?”

I frowned. “What do you mean? I’m not tired of you.”

He tilted his head to one side, a devilish smile playing about his lips. He said, “Or it is because of Noah?”

“Huh?” I expressed, confused. “What is that supposed to mean?”

“You and Noah seem to be getting along rather famously recently,” he said. “Flirting with each other in front of me.”

What the fuck was Aiden going on about? Noah? Me? Flirting?

“I don’t get what you’re going on about, Aiden,” I stammered. “Noah, he’s picking on me, as you well know. And he was damn confusing when we were back in Japan, his behavior, I mean.”

“Oh?” Aiden moved toward me. “What did he do that was confusing?”

My mind flashed back to the way Noah had acted toward me, the dark look in his eyes, and the words he had uttered to me when I had revealed to Uncle Jin and everyone that I’d return to Japan and take over Lake Aoi Resort and Onsen with Reo after I graduated from the university.

You have no idea how much hope your words give me. Things are going to change when we get back home, Haru. I won’t lose to Aiden.

Those words had confused me, and I still had no clue what they meant now. I mean things had indeed changed since we’ve returned, as Noah had said, and that was mostly Noah’s behavior toward me. He had become a roaring demon whenever he was dealing with me. But apart from that...

I said to Aiden, “He just said that things are going to change, and it did, him picking on me.”

Aiden burst out laughing. When he managed to stop, he said, “Looks like he’s doing it all wrong.”

I sighed. “Whatever he’s doing, it’s not fun, and I don’t like it. I wish he’d be like the normal Noah again.”

Aiden said, “I don’t think he can ever go back to being the normal Noah again where you’re concerned, Haru.”

I frowned. “I don’t get it and I don’t get him.”

Aiden took a step toward me, and in response, I took a step back.

“Come here, Haru.”

I shook my head. “I’m here to help you unpack, not to... You know.”

His eyes narrowed as he said, “I just want to have you all to myself before things change. Is that too much to ask?”

“Huh?” I was damn confused with his words.

He caught my wrist and pulled me to him. Before he could plant his lips on me, however, I was cunning enough to make a mad dash because I just knew there’d be no return the moment I felt his lips on mine and his tongue inside my mouth.

I was out of the walk-in closet and into his bedroom in a flash, but I didn’t get far after that. Chuckling like he was having the time of his life, he was right behind me and caught me, his powerful arms around my middle.

Imprisoned in his arms, Aiden drew me back and had me pinned against the wall, his hard body pressing intimately against me.

“Aiden,” I muttered softly. “We’re supposed to be unpacking.”

Aiden moved his hands from my waist and cupped my face, his eyes on me. “We’ll continue unpacking in a minute.” He dug his fingers into my hair as he leaned toward me.

The moment his lips pressed against mine, I felt my body melt against him and a soft groan escaped my mouth. His kiss was gentle and slow, his lips teasing mine and his teeth nipping on my flesh. He sensually stroked his tongue across the length of my lips, tasting me, which made my whole body squirm in delight.

“Stick your tongue out,” he gently ordered.

I mindlessly obeyed, opening my mouth and offering my tongue for him. He immediately snapped it up like a lion that had attained its prey, sucking on it and tasting it, making me breathless and my insides shudder in pleasure.

I shut my eyes, just feeling him against me and him ravishing me. I groaned and moaned against him, wanting more, begging for more as the heat inside me soared like a bird flying high in the sky.

I felt so weak and hot that I clung to him as he moved one hand from the side of my face and wrapped his arm around my middle, where he slipped his hand under my sweater at the back.

His warm hand spread out as he was feeling me, caressing my skin, and I groaned some more.

My breathing heavy and my chest shuddering with excitement, I opened my eyes, wanting him to touch me more.

At first all I could see was bright light as I was basking in pleasure, but then a figure in the distance swam into focus. When I saw Noah’s face—dark and looking pissed as hell—staring at me, I froze and my blood ran cold.

I just sort of stared at him at the same time he was staring at me, his face a dark mask. His expression, it was scaring the hell out of me.

I felt heat rush to my face, embarrassment flooding me, overwhelming me as my heart raced. I tapped my hand on Aiden’s shoulder to get his attention, for him to move his lips away from mine, for him to stop ravishing me in front of Noah. When Aiden did finally take notice and lifted his head, Noah already turned on his heel and was walking away.

My chest felt a little weird suddenly. I felt sick to my stomach. What the fucking hell?

“What’s the matter?” Aiden asked, drawing my attention to him.

I shifted my gaze from the spot where Noah had stood at the door to Aiden’s gorgeous face.

Still flushing hot from embarrassment, I brought my hand up and rubbed the back of it against my lips, my body shaky.

I said, “I’m... I’m hungry.”

“Must be lunchtime then,” he said. “How about we continue this another time?”

I eagerly nodded my head, which made him chuckle in amusement. He leaned forward and planted a kiss on my forehead. When he moved back, he said, “Let’s see what the others want for lunch.”

We went into the living area to see the others had already gathered around. The moment I spotted Noah staring at me, I felt heat rush to my face again, my stomach knotting.

Shit! Why was I feeling like this? It was nothing new that Aiden kissed me. All the brothers had seen it numerous times. Aiden and I were in a relationship, after all. Although I must admit none of them had seen Aiden kissing me like the one he just did—that passionate and all-consuming style. Still, why should I feel like shit when Noah saw me being ravished by Aiden?

“Reo suggested we have lunch in one of the restaurants on the first floor of the building,” Isaac said.

“Sounds good,” Aiden said.

Moments later, we were in the elevator, and I stupidly hid myself from Noah’s intense gaze by hiding behind Aiden.

“Haru, do you know we’re going to get us a puppy?” Isaac asked enthusiastically.

I widened my eyes in pleasant surprise. “Really?” I couldn’t help but express delight. “Awesome!”

Mason chuckled. “Sounds cool.” He turned to me and asked, “What breed do you want, Haru?”

“A Havanese or a bichon frise. I think they’re cute,” I said. “Can we get one of each? I mean if we get just one, it’ll be lonely for the pup when we’re not at home.”

A firm voice that came from Noah said, “One is enough. None of us have time to take care of two puppies.”

I poked my head from behind Aiden to take a sneak peek at Noah. Instantly, I regretted it. He had his eyes hot on me. I swear if a stare could emit fire, this one would be an inferno style that could destroy the whole world.

His intense gaze caused a shiver to run down my spine, and I found myself swallowing hard as I stared back at him.

Mason nodded. “A Havanese is cute and small.” He chuckled. “A bit like Haru, eh?”

I shifted my gaze to Mason. “Don’t lump me up with a dog.”

My outrage made everyone laugh.. Well, except for Noah who only snorted.
