It was nothing much, but Hiram finished his piece of music.

"Dad, Mom, it's getting late and I'm going back home now. Rachel and the kids are waiting," he said and got up. He nodded to Gavin and Joanna and headed to the door.

Lydia stood where she was without moving and her eyes followed Hiram to the door. She felt as if her soul, which had come to life a moment ago, had left with him.

At Tulip Palace.

Rachel walked out of the twins' room after they fell asleep. She stopped and held her breath, but she didn't hear Hiram's car. She sighed deeply and stepped to the window to look outside.

She wondered why she was so paranoid.

Hiram had only gone to his parents' house for his younger sister's birthday party, but she wondered what was making her heart feel so sour.

She stood in front of the window for a while, but the courtyard was still deserted. She walked to her bedroom and decided to wait for Hiram in bed. She held her phone in her hands all the while just in case Hiram called her.

But on the other hand, she was scared that he would call her to tell that he wouldn't come back that night.

As Rachel tossed and turned on her bed, she heard the front door being opened. She got up immediately, opened her bedroom door and ran downstairs. In her hurry, she forgot to put on her slippers.

When she saw that it was really Hiram, she dashed to him and held him in her arms tightly.

"Look at you! Why don't you have your slippers on?" Hiram scolded.

After holding Rachel for a while in a hug, he picked her up.

Rachel wrapped her arms around his neck and murmured,"I couldn't wait to see you. I was so scared."

Hiram walked to the staircase with Rachel in his arms and burst out laughing,"What are you scared of?" he asked.

"I was scared. I was scared that Lydia would drug you just like what Shirley had done last time. I'm scared that it would happen again. I'm scared…" she said.

She told him what was on her mind without hiding anything.

This was really what was going on in her mind and she was terrified that it would come true.

Hiram lowered his head and kissed her on her lips.

Then he carried her to their bedroom and bent over to place her on their soft bed. Flipping on her forehead, he said,"Stop worrying about things that will never happen. I've already promised you that it would never happen again and I intend to keep my promise

Drugged one night by her ex-boyfriend, a mysterious man took advantage of her in an ecstatic night filled with sex. To take her revenge, she married the man, and used him. "As long as I'm alive, I'm still his legal wife, while all of you are just his mistresses.”She remained adamant even when he was involved in scandals with other women...

ottle in a few seconds.

"Please have a seat, Mr. Rong. You really are a very rare visitor and I believe I wouldn't have another guest like you even if I waited all year long. Look at you, as noble and elegant as always. To tell you the truth. I don't know how to receive you even you really showed up here," Marcia said. She had light yellow skin and looked brutal even though she was talking politely.

Hiram sat on a chair opposite to her and Chad stood behind him. He secretly glanced at the legendary boss girl from head to toe.

"Let's set aside all formalities, Miss Mo. I believe you know why I am here," Hiram said in a calm, low voice.

Tapping the table with her fingers, Marcia lifted the corner of her lips and said,"You did me a huge favor that year and I'm supposed to help you without any hesitation. But that's not my way of doing things. I don't just go around making promises. Don't you think the same?" She paused for a moment and continued,"How about you fight a round with me? If you win, I'll do whatever you ask me to do."

Chad couldn't help but interfere,"Hiram, please..."

They had just seen what had happened in the ring to the other man and he knew that Marcia truly lived up to her reputation. Boxing with her was not a good idea.

Hiram raised his hand to stop Chad from continuing. He glanced at Marcia, but didn't say a word.

"Let me guess. After years of living in the high society, maybe you have forgotten how to throw a punch, right?" Marcia sneered and tried to provoke him.

Slowly lowering his hand, Hiram smirked slightly and replied,"Deal!"
