Chapter 307 Didn’t You Have Enough Fun

Name:Happy Together Author:Vegetable
Wondering why Hiram insisted on keeping her stuck in his office, Rachel frowned like a little girl who had been denied her favorite toy.

"Can you, please, call Hiram now? Tell him I'm going home, not to some other place. The twins must be waiting for me eagerly." Rachel pronounced her request, fully confident that Hiram would allow her to go home.

"I`m sorry, Mrs. Rong, but Mr. Rong said that you shouldn't worry about the twins at all, as there are four servants, who will take care of them. I believe you'd better stay here, as Mr. Rong asked," Ben said with a smile. After all, he had to follow Hiram's order.

Opening her mouth, as if to say something important, Rachel just sighed and uttered,"Fine! I'm hungry. Could you, please, ask them to heat the dishes for me?"

"No problem! Wait a moment, please!" Ben nodded to her and turned away from her.

Glancing carefully at both ends of the corridor, Rachel quickly came up with an idea. Like an acrobat walking on a thin rope, she sneaked through the one side of staircase. No doubt it would be better to leave here as soon as possible. Otherwise she had no idea what Hiram would make her go through later. Thinking what he had done at noon, she couldn't stop shivering.

At least if they were at home, she was sure Hiram wouldn't cross the line and lose his temper because the kids were around.

"Mrs. Rong, where are you going? If you want to go shopping, you can always ask me to do it for you," said a man in black strictly, as Rachel was opening the door to the staircase.

Despite that she intended to get down a few more stairs before she could take the elevator, the guard forced her to go back.

"No, thanks, I don't want to go shopping. I just would like to look around!" Rachel said with an innocently embarrassed smile and walked back to Hiram's office immediately.

Knowing there must be another man in black waiting, she didn`t even bother to try the staircase on the other side.

What she needed to do now was to calm down, so she took several deep breaths.

In the end, she decided it was wiser to wait for Hiram. Since he was so mad at her, she'd better stop adding more fuel in the flames of his anger.

Who knew what approach he would take to torture her, if she ran away without his permission.

When she remembered what happened at noon, Rachel could feel her face burning again. She even shook her head vigorously to get rid of this sensation.

On a second thought, that feeling was really tormenting.

The following two hours Rachel spent waiting and waiting. It seemed like forever. In-between she called home. After she heard Jonny`s and Joyce`s soft voices sweetly calling her "mom", she did feel million times bett

When her boyfriend betrayed her, all light and joy was gone from Cherry’s life. Deserted, bereft of hope, she married a man that she had barely met, but she had never expected him to be her ex-boyfriend’s uncle.

Cherry thought that she had finally found her happiness, but she had no idea about the dark secrets that were bound to unfold and haunt her forever...

th a vivid panic in her eyes,"Fine! Forget about the dinner. Mr. Yan, how about we have a talk somewhere ahead with fewer people?"

As though burned on a hot stove, Patrick took his hand back and stepped away impatiently.

"I think we have nothing to talk about. Please, leave me alone!" Patrick said coldly.

He felt like a complete idiot. Because he had been tricked into accepting her idea last time, now Rachel was avoiding him like a plague.

One thing was certain - he was determined never to hurt Rachel like that again, no matter how strong the temptation might be.

"Mr. Yan, don't be so sure! Sometimes, you have to try more than once, before you reach where you are headed to. Trust me!"

Lydia shouted after Patrick, as he was walking away from her.

Тhe night was coming and it was getting chilly.

With his back to Lydia, not bothering to turn and look her in the face, Patrick sneered and said,"You know what? I've changed my mind. I think it's better to see her happy. This is more important than getting all the things I want to have. My heart is happy when Rachel is happy, even if I'm not the one standing next to her."

What he didn't say was he would never listen to Lydia's ideas or accept her invitations again.

If he wanted to be with Rachel, he would be man enough to find his own way to make it happen.

Then, Patrick strode forward as if Lydia were invisible and nothing had ever happened.

"Mr. Yan!" Lydia shouted again in desperation.

Her face turned pale and she clenched her fists instinctively, seeing Patrick walking away firmly.

Previously she had hoped that he would turn out to be a trustworthy ally for realizing her viscous plans. However, now she realized that he turned out to be a one-time partner who walked away from her without any hesitation.
