Chapter 290 Spreading Rumors

Name:Happy Together Author:Vegetable
She hadn't met Patrick this week at all.

What happened?

Rachel gave Celine's phone back to her, and then called Hiram immediately.

"Hiram, have you seen the news?" she asked, thinking that he must have gotten word of such a sensational piece of news.

Indeed, Hiram had just seen the news, but he'd known that it was nonsense right away, because he was well aware of where Rachel had been last night.

She had come back home early and stayed with him the whole night, so it would have been impossible for her to meet anyone else.

"Yes, I've seen it. Honey, don't worry. I've called the media and asked them to issue a public apology for spreading rumors. I'll resort to legal action if they make the same mistake again!" he said.

But how were those people bold enough to make up such news about the wife of Streams Company's CEO?

What did they want? And more importantly, who was behind them?

After hanging up, Hiram called Chad in. "Look into whether Patrick is behind this or not," he said.

"Okay. I'm checking it right now," Chad said, nodding. The hero of the news was Patrick.

It was obvious that the picture had been edited with Photoshop. They had cut Rachel from one of her pictures online and put it onto a picture of Patrick. But where had they gotten the photo of Patrick from?

At the Rong Family's house...

"Lydia, have some fruits. Don't keep staring at your cell phone. You young people these days can survive without your parents, but not without your cell phones!" Joanna said, shaking her head. Every time she saw Lydia, Lydia would be staring intently at her cell phone.

Lydia, who was looking at the news on her cell phone, suddenly turned to Joanna with an expression of surprise. "Mom, the current news media is so annoying, they make up stories all the time!" she said.

"What's wrong?" Joanna asked, and, seeing that Lydia seemed to be annoyed, took the phone from her.

Joanna's eyesight was growing dim with age, so she had to hold the phone a little far from her eyes, but she still couldn't make out the words. "What are they talking about?" she asked.

"Mom, take your time. I am going to ask dad to come down and have some fruits." Lydia innocently went upstairs and walked towards the study.

A while later, she returned with Gavin.

Joanna was reading the news with glasses on, and her expression was becoming more and more serious. When she saw Gavin come down the stairs, she switched off the screen immediately. "Come on, Gavin. Have some fruits," she said, a little flu

"Do you know what you did wrong? It's alright if you just wanted to own me. But you should not have helped Molly leave me!"

When Brian learns the truth, there is no chance for Hannah to win his heart.

Molly, who wants to run away from Brian, seems to be the only one to blame for Hannah's misfortune...

the saying goes, there's no smoke without fire. Have you thought about why the media connected Rachel to Patrick instead of someone else?" Gavin had a strong feeling that things weren't as simple as Hiram was making them out to be.

He wanted Hiram to ask Rachel to stay at home and stop making trouble for the Rong family. That was the main reason he had come here.

He was hoping that the family could be as peaceful as it used to be.

"Hiram, you'd better mind Rachel. Ask her to stop running her studio and to stay at home and take care of the kids! Then I don't believe anyone would spread such rumors again!" Gavin shouted.

Hiram sat there with an expression of indifference, but the pen he was holding in his hands was almost broken.

"Hiram, I'm saying this for your own good. Women are born to take care of their husbands and their children. If they're involved in too many relations in the outside world, it's inevitable that there will be some rumor about them. Even if I believe that she's innocent, what will others think?

You might not agree with what I'm saying, but for the sake of our family's honor, I have to put my foot down."

With that, Gavin stood up and walked towards the door.

The moment Gavin left, Hiram broke the pen into two pieces and flung it at the dustbin, unable to suppress his anger any longer.

Just then, his cell phone rang.

He picked it up from the table and found that the call was from an unfamiliar number.

He answered the phone call right away.

"Mr. Rong, is that you?"

The person at the other end of the line was speaking in a computer-generated voice. They continued,"Please come to H City Hotel as soon as possible..."
