24 Chapter 23- The rich?

Turning around, he saw the two girls with wolf-like ears holding each others hand. "Who are you?" said the older with cautious eyes. Denear was surprised to see them because he assumed that they would have ran away already. He then replied to them, " No one great." He walked away feeling very pleased with himself. He had finally tested his magic freely, although not to its full capacity but at least he was able to relieve some of his boredom for the past few days.

"Wait!" shouted the oldest one. Denear looked back to see both of them doing a full 90 degree bow. Both of them said sincerely at the same time, "Thank you. Someday we will pay this debt that we owe to you." Walking a few steps ahead before coming to a full stop, he turned around seeing them still doing a bow. "Raise your heads." At this sentence, both of the girls with the dog-like ears stood up straight. A small bag flew towards them. The eldest caught the bag in her hands and found it rather heavy, confused, she looked towards Denear.

"Inside this bag is 20 gold coins, use it to get food and clothing. Also, you should try to get back to the Beastmen Continent and find some help. You should try not to wander in the Human Continent to much at this time of war, it is really dangerous for you two. Oh and try to hide you ears and tail for safety." With his back facing them, he waved without smiling. "This is all I can do for you two.....And one last thing...I didn't kill those men for you got that, it was all for my benefit." He walked off.

The color of his eyes, his shining blonde hair and his kind face even though it was cold and lifeless...All of it was encrypted deep into their memories. They would never forget their encounter with this man. Even though he was scary when fighting and was ruthless, he was nice enough to help them. Though they didn't know his full name, they would remember him for the rest of their lives.......And hope someday that they would be able to pay him back for his kindness.

"Cornelius huh?........"

...

Back at the carriage

"Wake up!" Denear saw the guards still fast asleep. "Wake up!" He shook them slightly and they woke up yawning. "It's time already...."

"Well, let's go men!" All of them forced themselves to wake up and got onto their horses. 'On the road again.' Was what all of them thought with very unenthusiastic faces. 'At least we're almost there.'

Denear took a long comfy nap inside the carriage. The seats were covered with cushions and silk which made it really soft. "This the benefit of being rich..." Denear thought rich people were really lucky. With enough power and wealth, you could do whatever you want to do. Even if people hate you, what could they do. However, money can also destroy people from the inside. Though there are people who still remain good, there are many who are lead astray.

A lot of people who give to charity are only for show. In my previous world, you could see in the newspapers, TV's and radios of people give money to charity. So and so did this, so and so did that, it's really sickening. Even idols do it for a boost in their popularity and for more support from their fans. Idols, superstars, rich and famous people are more or less the same. They all want praise.

People on the internet would even research "charity". Like "10 reasons why people give and 5 why they don't" or "Poor, Middle Class, and Rich: Who gives and who doesn't?". I hated stuff like that. Why do people need reasons to give? Everyone has to have a scheme to give? You're even doing statistics of who gives and who doesn't? So the more you give the better your personality is? Money was even ruining religions in my old world. Though money is important, you won't die without it.

People even changed the saying "Love makes the world go round" into "Money makes the world go round" oh well I say screw it! Well I think it's supposed to say "Gravity makes the world go round" so what the hell are people male cow pooing for! (think real hard on the past sentence "male cow poo/pooing" if you don't get it)

Well anyways, the point is, I hate people who give not because of their kindness but instead of their desire for praise and and increase in popularity. I think people who give without getting anything back are the true saints. But it's only my opinion. 'Now let me continue my nap.'
