18 PROPOSAL

The sun shown it's face with pride and dignity.

That every bit of this earth needs it's light & heat !

The morning came & Jairus woke up rubbing his eyes. Drunk last night he was still a bit dizzy. Sitting straight his mind was still recalling every bit of yesterday's night.

"I'm sure Regena was here last night. I don't know how but I'm sure."

He whispered to himself.

Maybe he sensed her presence. His heart sank when he lied to his friends about his feelings. He was madly in love with her. But didn't had the guts to say.

That bet__at first was a simple game. When Agnes came to his company but then the tables turned & he truly fell for her.

He loved a famous prostitute which actually wasn't a wh*re. But how'd he explain that to his friends ?

So he went with that

bet-thing & lied to keep up his so called pride.

Things went wrong when Agnes arrived there. And heard all that conversation. Moreover she watched that disgusting party which was thrown by Kurtz in Jairus' house actually without his permission.

"I've to tell her the truth. It's enough now. No more hide n seek. I love her and I'm gonna tell her everything today."

Jairus murmured while fastening up the buttons of his shirt.

Agnes entered the lounge and a sweet fragrance came along her nose and her mouth became watery.

"Fried Fish with curry sauce. Am I right bro ?"

Dressed in loose pajama and a t-shirt she headed towards the kitchen where Raizel was busy in cooking still in sleeping dress and wearing a female apron !

"Don't forget the boil rice my love."

Agnes giggled and settled on the small dining table, placed in the kitchen on a side. Raizel placed all the items and sat in front of her. Agnes dug-in as was hungry from a week !

Raizel amusingly watched her little sister. But his mood got tensed.

"So what's your plan ?

Are you going to tell mother about this child ?"

With mouth full she spoke at once.

"No-not at all. I'm still not sure that royal blood vampire is Jairus + not to forget the father of this child !

What if mother will ask me and I don't have an answer yet !"

"Yeah you're right. Mother will sure ask you about that guy. And if she'll find out that you don't know him she'll create a great fuss."

"Haha yeah. Not to forget grandpa. He'll kick me out from the kingdom like he did to....."

And she stopped looking at Raizel.

"I don't think so that you'll come across the same fate like of Aunt Remora. She left for a human. But your mate is a royal blood and according to vampire law you're allowed to marry him."

"Yeah. Hope so I'll not end up like her. Ah ! bro I'm getting late for job. Wish me luck for my HUNT."

She winked at her brother with a smile.

"And don't forget to do the dishes my superman ! "

Agnes shut the door of her room leaving Raizel with mixed feelings of anger and laughter.

"That little brat, bossy like always !"

"Dad - Dad where are you ?"

Genevieve entered the study room in search of her father. To avoid creating a false scene she decided to study the whole diary. And spend the night awake in search of questions.

She slammed opened the door and was panting due to a fast run. Mr. Thomas Martin was sitting with his head buried in a bulky book.

"Yes my dear. Calm down you startled me. What's the matter ?"

Genevieve held the book high, close to her chest and whispered in horror.

"Dad she's back !"

Mr. Martin saw his personal diary in the hands of his daughter. And frowned with his pitch low but tone__angry.

"Why did you stole my diary ? It wasn't the right time for you to read it. Give me back sweety."

Genevieve took a few steps backward.

"Dad I'm sorry for stealing it again."

"AGAIN ?"

Genevieve scratched her cheek in hesitation.

"Yeah again. I read it once but for some answers I'd to read it again. I'm sorry dad but I really had to. She's back dad. Agnes Regena is back."

"What are you talking about ? "

Mr. Thomas were still confused.

"Dad you remember my friend Jairus Ezekiel she works with him as his secretary. You always say that each n every word of this tale is true. I believed it from the start. And I'm sure the girl in your diary & in his office is same."

"Oh my goodness."

Was all he could say.

"Dad why she's back ?"

Now Genevieve questioned her father. With an unknown fear in her eyes.

"Well my dear. Vampires are often in search of their mates. I wish this time she'd find him. I wish her luck with Jairus."

Mr. Thomas was really happy for Agnes.

"Don't dad.

Just don't. I love Jairus. And he's mine n only mine."

She started to panic.

Mr. Martin held his daughter by shoulders and tried to settle the things.

"Listen sweety if Jairus is her mate just let him go. You can't do anything they're destined to meet. And if he loves you he'll be yours no matter what happens. Just give this matter time. Don't spoil the things."

He took the diary from her.

"Moreover honey the government has set a committee to revive the peace-pact signed with the vampires. Our government is providing them equal rights. And the opportunity to study the human world. A new pact will be signed with the vampire lord and a new era of

human-vampire friendship will flourish."

Genevieve stood there stunned as what her father was speaking__was like poison to her ears.

She couldn't let Jairus go this easily. Though she didn't love him but it was her ego n pride that she was ready to do anything.

Jairus was impatiently waiting for Agnes, roaming around in his cabin, staring at her empty desk.

He prepared his speech many times but was hesitating and confused that how she'll react.

When Agnes entered the cabin and at once Jairus' vampiric senses awakened. He smelled her aura, scanned her appearance. She was wearing ripped jeans with a purple top. Flaunting her perfect body and her elegant ginger hair.



Opposite from her usual dressing. Yes she was there with the aim to make Jairus fall in love with her.

"You're late honey."

Jairus cleared his throat and maintained his image. Though he stared at her__jaw dropped.

"Ah ! Sorry boss. My brother came last night. You know a brother - sister time, how it goes."

Jairus at once took her to the sofa near by in the cabin.

"Regena I - I want to tell you something."

Agnes was staring at him blank, her heart about to explode by his touch n gaze.

"Actually I - Regena I don't know how but...but I think you're there at my place last night. It doesn't matter to me how you get in there but the point is what you listened there isn't the truth. I swear Regena it isn't. I love you and I really want you in my life."

Jairus paused as he was speaking with his head lowered n holding Agnes' hand. Making an eye contact he finally uttered.

"Regena will you marry me ?"

Agnes was shocked by the revelation but there were still many pending questions. With tears in eyes she merely whispered.

"Jairus I'm pregnant with the child of that bar-man"

Jairus didn't knew how to react. At once he exclaimed with joy.

"What , you're carrying my child ! And you're telling me now ! "

Agnes felt a relief. Her brother was right Jairus is the father of this child.

"Your child ?"

"Ah yeah."

Jairus brushed his hair back noticing that he blurted out the secret of that night.

"Actually you're drugged that night and I accidentally__I swear it was not intentional. I really wanted to tell you this but I was scared that How you'll react. I'm sorry my love I left you alone. But it won't happen again. I love you & I still want to marry you."

Agnes felt like she was in heaven. The man she loves__adores her too.

Every single thing Raizel said was true.

"Oh I don't know what to say."

She let out a laugh in nervousness.

"Just say yes honey. The rest I'll handle, I promise."

He held her hand firm & pressed a bit.

"Yes !"

Agnes replied in a low tone then out loud with joy.

"Yes !

Oh my God yes__yes I'll marry you Mr. Jairus Ezekiel."

Jairus gave out a giggle.

"I'm the luckiest man that I've you now. I really want to make you Mrs. Regena Jairus Ezekiel."

Agnes blushed as they both tucked their foreheads together enjoying the beautiful moment.

"My name is Agnes Regena by the way."

She whispered.

"Oh. I'm fine with Regena too. Ms. Agnes !"

He replied as kissed her cheek.
