Chapter 141 - Superbia

Name:Godslayer's Legend Author:_michael
Conrad released two more pairs of wings and flapped them with enough force to propel himself high up into the air at once.

His wings seemed to glow for a bit as with each flap, waves of wind attributed ether poured out and blocked the flying blades that had locked into his position.

On the ground, the celestial who regained his footing, gestured with his hands and the swords that were blown away by the ether infused wind, all rotated towards Conrad and dashed towards him fast enough to leave behind multiple sonic booms.

|Tempest.|

With that one word, Conrad channeled the unrestrained essence of the law of wind and created a giant tornado around his body to block the flying blades.

The tornado then went on to increase in size as the violently rotating column of air carried and threw the thousands of swords that threatened to impale Conrad, in random directions at high speeds.

[Authority of Swords: Sword of Judgement]

The celestial flew up in the air and rose his hand, the clouds parted to reveal a giant golden sword that was large enough to cleave a planet in two.

However the energy contained within, could do much worse than just cleaving planets in two.

Waving his hand down, the sword fell towards the Conrad who was at the center of the tornado.

|I guess I have bought enough time for them, time to finish this.|

As Conrad spoke those words, he looked up at the sword was falling from the sky and sheathed his blade.

|Soul Weapon: Superbia|

In his now open hand, there was a burst of light and a Cross hilted longsword appeared in his palm.

Conrad grasped the sword and red tendrils of destructive energy began to form around his hand and the sword.

The blade glowed a dark red light as a pillar of Aether surged from the sword, tearing through and dispelling the raging tornado around him.

[Authority of Pride: Contempt of the Weak]

He swung the sword upwards to meet the Sword of Judgement that was crashing down on him.

The result;

*SKREEEK!

First was a screeching sound, like one that would be heard when a blackboard is scratched with nails.

**CRACK!!

Next was a cracking sound, most likely that of the celestial's domain cracking.

***SHATTER!!!

Third was a shattering sound, the sound of the domain being broken, alongside with the void of space.

****BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then, the explosion.

The very fabric of space was ruptured due to the force of the explosion, everything within the next few tens of thousands of light years was erased completely.

It took a few minutes for the explosion to begin showing signs of calming down.

The moment those signs began showing, one of the causes of this explosion; Conrad, streaked across the shattered space towards the other cause of the explosion; the celestial he was battling.

The celestial hurriedly attempted to defend while ignoring the backlash he received as his domain was forcibly shattered, however Conrad was faster.

**PUK!

Conrad's soul weapon; Superbia, penetrated through the armored Celestial's chest, shattering what was left of his armor and piercing his heart.

|Hmm...You got a hit in?|

Conrad asked as he looked down and saw a golden sword of pure celestial energy sticking out of his torso.

In that moment, the celestial forcefully spoke, even though he was coughing out huge amounts of blood as his heart was pierced.

For an existence in the high tier deity realm, a simple stab to the chest was not enough to kill them. At most, their physical body could die, but their astral bodies/souls would still be alive.

Even though they would be weakened in that state, it did not mean they could not still use their abilities.

Conrad knew this, however his aim was never to kill the celestial but to capture him. This was why he did not attempt to damage the celestial's soul too when he pierced his heart.

His Contempt of the Weak had already done sufficient damage and had probably taken out a few of the celestial's soul defensive layers.

The celestial who had his soul damaged, forced out words from his dying body's mouth.

[Authority of Time: Temporal Reversal]

Hearing that, Conrad looked up immediately and was about to pour more Aether into his sword to cancel the Authority's activation.

[Let him go.]

Diablo's words suddenly echoed in his head, making him stop his line of action.

The essence of the law of time filled the area and reversed the current situation of Conrad piercing the celestial's chest with his soul weapon.

Everything around them was reversed, even the latter part of the explosion that resulted from the clash between their earlier attacks.

As a High tier deity, Conrad was fully conscious even when he was being reversed. Even if Diablo had told him to let the celestial go, being taken for a ride was not Conrad's style at all.

There was no way the Devil of pride would allow himself to be reversed in time without any resistance.

||Domain Declaration: Hall of Pride||

With those words, the Temporal Reversal was broken completely and the flow of time returned to normal.

Next, dark red waves of energy gushed out from Conrad and threatened to wrap around both him and the celestial, however the celestial was already one foot out of there.

"Greater Teleportation, Activate!"

The small teleportation artifact in his hands carried him out of there before the domain could encroach over him.

With a flash of light, he was gone from the area and Conrad's domain caught no one...just like he planned for it to.

|Return|

With that word, the soul weapon in his hand disappeared and he retracted his wings. Looking down at himself, he saw that his suit was in tatters and his overcoat had long been burnt to ash.

He waved a hand and dark red magic power wrapped around him, when it cleared died down, Conrad was wearing a completely different colored suit.

Unlike the last one, this was navy blue, but besides that, there was not much difference in design. He draped his long overcoat over his back and turned his green eyes to a certain point in space.

There was a small tear in space and a dull silver haired man emerged from within.

He was dressed similarly to Conrad, except that he did not have a blazer underneath his overcoat.

Seeing him, Conrad bowed respectfully and addressed him by his title.

"Your majesty."

The man, King of Hell, Diablo Vaughn, nodded and looked around before saying.

"You really went wild."

He pointed at the cracked space around them and the darkness of the cosmos that could be seen from within that tried to spread into the Hell universe through the cracks.

"My apologies, he was stronger than I expected."

"Worry not, you kept him engaged long enough for the evacuations to be completed, thanks to that we were able to minimize the casualties."

As Diablo spoke, Duke Hollis, one of the six dukes and main entities of the Devilian Pantheon warped into the area and bowed lightly towards Conrad who acknowledged him with a nod.

He then turned to Diablo and spoke.

"Duchess Jostron has confirmed the survivors to be 75% of the population. The remaining 25% were collateral damage of the Grand Duke's attack."

Conrad's eyebrow twitched at Duke Hollis' words but he remained silent. Diablo noticed this and let out a laugh.

"Conr-"

His statement was cut off as he sensed the cracks in space expanding and the darkness of the cosmos' chaotic void spreading into the hell universe.

"Let me take care of this first. We shall speak afterwards."

His voice turned cold as enormous amounts of energy poured out from his body, his dark eyes flashed as he spoke.

||Authority of the Master||

The energy that spilled out of his body, moved over to the cracks in space, the next moment, fantastical sight could be seen.

The cracks in space, were being mended at a visible speed.

Cracking the boundary of a universe could be achieved easily by high tier deities, however repairing it was near impossible for beings below the monarch realm unless one possessed an authority over creation.

As for monarch realm existences, they could repair varying degrees of damage depending on their realm of existence.

Then for the Masters of universes, they could repair any damage done to their universe's boundary provided they had enough energy to do so.

The cracked space was repaired so perfectly that one would never be able to tell that the space was once broken unless they were very proficient in using the law of space.

After achieving this feat without breaking a sweat, Diablo turned around and spoke.

"We shall let them run free for now, I plan to use them as tools to achieve a few other things.

When the time is right, I would personally take action against their leader."

After saying this, he glanced at a certain direction for a moment before ordering the dukes to pull back to Aeturn.

◇ ◇ ◇

A few hundred million light-years away from Diablo's location. A man was healing the injured celestial in front of him when he felt a gaze lock on to him briefly.

It was only for a moment but he felt it clearly.

The essence of fate and destiny swirled round his body and he turned towards the direction of the gaze he felt.

'Is that the master of this universe? However, why can I not discern his identity via destiny?

All I can tell is that we are on the same realm of existence.'

He clenched his fist and spoke to himself.

"For the sake of my goals, I must carry on."

Unclenching his fists, he went back to healing the injured celestial in front of him while throwing a fleeting glance at the broken pieces of golden colored armor on the floor.
