Chapter 138 - Festival Plans

After the results of the poll were shown, the idea Arthur proposed was officially accepted and they began making plans.

Arthur made his intention to be the MC responsible for 5 or 6 of the events known and that was met with a unanimous agreement from all the representatives present.

Many other things were decided, like the number of classes allowed to have special events or activities, and how those classes would be selected.

A rule preventing students participating in sporting activities from also participating in their class specific events or activities.

The events to be added were also decided and finalized with a few of Arthur's strange suggestions being agreed on by most of the male representatives present.

As for their female counterparts, they just glared at the boys in disgust.

Surprisingly, Layla who everyone expected to lash out at Arthur was strangely quiet, this led few to believe that Arthur may have bought her over before the meeting.

The meeting concluded with the student council president, Raylan, telling the representatives to discuss with their classmates and decide if they were going to hold any special presentations or activities during the festival.

◇ ◇ ◇

The next Monday, during the second year class A's free period, Arthur, Layla and Nicole stood up and gathered the attention of everyone in their class to decide on if they would present anything.

It eventually turned into a discussion on what they would present as over 90% of the students present wished to hold a special activity.

Those who would participate in the sports activities also joined in even though they knew they would not be allowed to participate in the class activity.

They had more of an insight on what to decide as Arthur had personally taken time to explain to them and even showed them examples of what he meant.

He shared photos of similar events form other schools in other parts of the Devildom.

After this, Nicole took up the mantle of coordinating the discussion as Layla stepped out to answer an urgent call.

"Eh-erm…if you have any ideas, of what we should do…"

"Ehh~? What do we do? What do we do?"

"It's a standard haunted house, isn't it~?"

"Woah, that sounds like a lot of preparation~."

"I mean, what do you usually do?"

"I don't want to clash with the other classes."

"Yeah...most of them are probably gonna go for the cafe idea."

"Ah…."

The usually quiet Nicole was having a hard time getting her soft voice to reach her noisy classmates.

Arthur noticed this and frowned before stamping the ground loudly with his foot. He did so with enough force to crack the ground beneath his feet.

**BOOM

***CCRACK!

This action instantly got the attention of the noisy class A students.

Arthur then smiled and gestured towards Nicole. She was about to ask about the broken floor but upon seeing Lute suddenly appear and use earth magic to fix it, she kept her question to herself.

Everyone instinctively reacted to the sound. The little break caught their attention, and Arthur looked to Nicole.

"If-if you have an idea, please raise your hand!"

Thanks to Arthur's action, Nicole's voice finally went through and the class's attention diverted from Arthur's actions to Nicole.

They had no choice to after seeing the dangerous glint in Arthur's eyes when he smiled at them.

"Okay! A cosplay cafe!"

A female student beside Edward quickly raised her hand to suggest the moment Nicole spoke.

Edward beside her, showed a dumbfounded face at the suggestion.

"You know…, isn't that usually what a boy would say?"

"That's you guys problem, I want to see Nicole's cosplay!"

"Eh? Me?"

Nicole, whose name was suddenly called out, let out a surprised voice while pointing to herself.

She showed even greater surprise when more than half of the girls agreed with the first girl's suggestion.

'I wanna see!'

Such voices could be heard from all over the class, mainly the girls. The guys were strangely quiet, probably because it might be considered as sexual harassment if they said it.

'Cosplay café huh…that's a classic.'

Arthur thought as he sat on the teacher's desk while fiddling with his phone.

"Eh, eeerrrmmm…th-that's fine, right?"

Nicole immediately gave him a pleading look, probably hoping for him to help her and deal with the expectant gazes the girls were directing towards her.

Arthur laughed and turned to the teacher who just walked in and asked.

"Ms Oka, do you have any information about what stalls they had at the Thirteenth and Sixth Academies' joint school festival you attended last year?"

"Yes, I do, and get down from the desk already."

"Okay."

Arthur replied as he hopped down and walked over to her before snatching the tab in her hands and perusing through the files in it.

"Huh?...hey?!"

"Found it."

He sent the files to his phone that was still connected to the class projector before activating an artifact to escape the restraining mana whips that were snaking towards his feet.

"Here."

He tossed the tab back to her, forcing her to use the mana whips to catch it instead of restraining him.

Displaying the statistics on the projector, he spoke up to the class.

"So far, most schools that have similar events yearly have this 'cosplay cafe'. It seems easy to do as such most classes usually do it…From the stats on Ms Oka's tab, they got a cosplay cafe last year, so I don't think it's a no go."

"So you're saying there's a chance?"

"Yes, but there's also a chance that we might clash with other classes, after all, we aren't the only ones who would look at other schools events and statistics.

I don't know how they usually resolve this when two classes clash though…"

Ms Oka then immediately spoke up while still glaring at Arthur who only smiled back at her.

"They usually have a fixed number of slots for the same activity. In situations when the requests exceed the slots, they'll narrow the list through presentations."

"So what's the criteria for that?"

"It depends on whether the students are well prepared to operate it, whether the dress code is appropriate for the school's discipline.

Of course, the appeal part is a very important factor here. Lastly, the results will be determined by how the management—that is, the student council and the board of directors feel about it."

She spoke up like a game NPC, and shut up immediately after giving only the necessary information.

"So, I guess the biggest problem is whether or not we can get the appropriate cosplay outfits. If we don't have any chance to do that, we'll probably lose the presentation."

Arthur spoke up after pondering on it for a few moments, he then turned to Nicole who had a pensive look on her face.

"Presentation, huh…? So that means that's supposed to be done by the class representatives, right …?

Ms Oka, is there any rule on who can present the presentation?"

"It must be a student of the class. There's nothing that says it has to be a class representative though."

'That was quick. It's always better to ask straightforward questions in such situations.'

Arthur thought before speaking up again.

"Well, then, I guess we should look for an expert. Let the guy who seems to be good at presenting and started it all do it.

I already have my hands full with organizing the event"

"Seems to be good at presenting….ahh"

Nicole seemed to have reached a conclusion and pointed at the girl who suggested the cosplay cafe, she then turned to the 5th ranked in the second year Class academic rankings, Jack and selected him as the other one to present.

"Erm…it's possible if we can get the costumes ready."

Layla walked in as Nicole spoke and looked at the things displayed by the projector after offering a simple greeting to Ms Oka who was standing nearby.

Arthur then handed his phone over to Layla, after telling her where to find the files he prepared in the event a 'cosplay cafe' was chosen, he waltzed out of the class.

She sighed in exasperation and asked Nicole for a summary of the discussion before speaking.

"…First of all, we can't wear costumes that are too sensational. We'll definitely be rejected."

"That's true…but how sensational is too sensational?"

"Looking at the data, let's cross out mini-skirts just to be safe. If we're going to have a maid cafe, the maid uniform would be... there are so many styles here but the most appropriate is this 'Victorian style'.

It would not prompt any complaints from the more conservative members of the older generation."

"Victori…? I'm not really sure, but that sounds pretty strict …."

Layla nodded at the words of the student who replied before continuing.

"And now that we've talked about maid cafes, I think there's a good chance we'll get complaints if we only allow the girls to cosplay.

It will be better if the guys can cosplay too.. It would be more desirable to have cosplay for boys as well."
