Chapter 111 - System Activation

Name:Godslayer's Legend Author:_michael
A woman wearing a pure black gown, one that contrasted with her pure white hair and skin, laid on a couch while fiddling around with a phone in her hands.

The gown was decorated with various jewels and precious stones of unknown worth, and its cost alone could buy out the richest men of most galaxies, more than three times over.

Her upturned eyes that glowed with a small silver light, looked towards the door of the room she was in.

Seconds later, it opened as a man walked in, he looked elderly, with white hair and a white beard. His dull grey eyes seemed to shine with the wisdom of countless years.

He spoke to the woman, with a dry voice.

"Did you go see him?"

"Huh? How did you know, I was sure we were out of your reach."

He pointed at her black gown and replied.

"You only wear that when you go to meet him."

The woman glanced at her clothes and realised that she was still wearing the pure black gown decorated with jewels and precious stones.

"Ohh, I see."

She replied dryly and continued playing on her phone, a few seconds later she spoke up.

"So? You didn't come here to ask me about my meeting with someone who is meant to be our enemy right?"

The man looked at her in silence before asking.

"Just what are the two of you hiding?"

"Things that you are better of not knowing, now state your reason for coming here already."

Seeing the woman was growing impatient, the man decided to finally say why he came over.

"In the last meeting you said to activate the systems in that cluster?"

"Ah, activate the devour class system for all of them."

Her words resulted in an expression of shock on the man's face, he asked with a still slightly surprised voice.

"Devour Class? Why?"

Not even sparing him a glance, the woman replied.

"So we can have more potential candidates."

The man nodded in affirmation at her words, but he still held some objections.

"But even so, devour class is too much, aren't the auxiliary class systems better?"

"They are good but not fast enough."

"Okay, so what should be the level limit?"

The woman finally stopped playing on her phone and wore a pensive look on her face. After a few moments of silence, she grinned mischievously and said.

"Hundred thousand?"

"Hundred what now?!"

She chuckled at the man's obviously surprised tone, realizing she was only teasing him, the man cleared his throat and spoke.

"Be serious."

"Fine, a thousand."

The man nodded in affirmation and was about go walk away but suddenly stopped in his tracks. Noticing this, the woman called out to him.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing much, just a failed experiment of yours calling out to me.

When are you going to retrieve that avatar you left there?"

"Avatar? Failed experiment?"

She looked down on the ground and her eyes flashed for a moment, the next, a mischievous grin crept up her face.

"Ohh, I know not when I shall retrieve it, 'oh ye who governs all wisdom and knowledge'."

The man clicked his tongue in indignation and left the room, leaving behind the woman who was chuckling to herself.

◇ ◇ ◇

At a certain point in the chaotic void, a being who was floating in space, turned to look at a group of universes that were suddenly covered with the essence of the law of knowledge.

The being was dressed in all black, with a hood above their head obscuring their face from sight.

Two dots, glowing in an iridescent light could be seen from inside the hood as the being thought about what the denizens of those universes were currently going through.

||For. Balance.||

The being spoke those two words, their gender being indiscernible from their voice, before waving their hands and causing a small spatial rift to appear.

Entering into that rift, the being drifted away, into the cosmos far beyond.

◇ ◇ ◇

"Huh?"

"Haaa?!"

"Since when?"

Alexia, Ethan and Kelly all let out surprised voices. That was natural, after all they never expected to see what they were all currently seeing.

[Welcome to Tivia]

[Registering External Existence.....]

It was a system message.

This meant that some sort of system currently existed in Tivia, one that did not exist the last time the trio came here.

Alexia and Ethan turned to look at Kelly for an explanation, but even she was just as confused as they were.

The reason for her confusion however, differed from theirs.

While they were surprised that there was suddenly a system in Tivia, she was surprised because the system was activated almost a thousand years before schedule.

'I wasn't informed of this, which can only mean one of the higher ups took action personally.'

Coming to a conclusion on her own, she blatantly ignored the questioning stares that Alexia and Ethan were giving her.

'I can't let them realize I didn't know about it too.'

Unfortunately, it was a bit too late for that.

"You said 'Since when?' right? That means you also didn't know about this."

Alexia and Ethan, already heard her words of surprise earlier.

"Tsk....Fine I didn't know, but that's only because 'they' took action personally okay? I normally know about these kinds of things."

Alexia rolled her eyes at Kelly and looked at the information board floating in front of her eyes.

Looking at the information in on the board floating in front of her, Alexia's eyebrows twitched.

'Oh, they definitely got my condition right.'

She clicked her tongue and manipulated her energy, preventing the system from reading any more information about her.

"Your superiors seem to be unable to understand the concept of 'privacy'."

She spoke to Kelly, however the latter wasn't even listening.

"Impossible, I knew it was so bad that I lost count but I didn't expect it to be this bad."

She was staring into thin air with an empty gaze, most likely looking at her status board while muttering to herself.

'Perhaps...?!'

Alexia grinned evilly and decided to advantage of her listless state. She waved her hands and ambient energies flowed.

For someone like Alexia who could easily stop the system that encompassed an entire universe from reading her information, interfering with another being's status board was child's play for her.

For a short moment, a blue board became visible to both Alexia and Ethan.

Kelly, who realised what Alexia was trying to do, snapped out of her daze and used her own energy to stop Alexia's interference.

Unfortunately, she was too late once again.

"Did you see?"

Staring at Kelly's teary eyes, Alexia coughed awkwardly before replying.

"I happened to notice 8 figures in the age section, nothing more, nothing less."

At her words, Kelly turned paler and paler, until she eventually broke down crying.

Looking at this scene, Ethan could not understand the reason for Kelly's behaviour.

'I'm tens of thousands of years old myself but I ain't crying about it, what's with women and their ages?'

Of course, Ethan would never understand how a single woman whose age had 8 figures would ever feel.

◇ ◇ ◇

An elderly looking man came out of a realm gate and looked up at the sky, he caught the appearances of three figures on a nearby hill.

'Hmm, the candidate girl? And Ke-, ...her watcher?

Cant let that one notice me, it'd be troublesome to deal with her now.'

He wondered what the trio were doing there and was thinking about going to meet them later when one of them was not there but a sound he heard disrupted his thoughts.

He looked in front of him to see a status board floating, unlike Alexia's, his was full of glitches.

The moment it displayed up to that point, the man clicked his tongue in annoyance.

The ambient energies around him reacted to that action and prevented the system from reading anything about him again, even the few letters it managed to read, were replaced with errors.

'Tsk....I just went into that secret realm for a few decades and this happens?!'

The man turned around and teleported away almost instantly.

"Just where in all universes are those six old fools?"

He voiced out that last thought before disappearing.
