Chapter 100 - Ursan’s Unsettling Trump Card

Name:Godslayer's Legend Author:_michael
"Dont make me laugh!"

Ursan horizontally swung his halberd, unleashing a multidirectional shockwave.

"Warrior's Strike!"

Warrior's Strike was a skill that Ursan possessed, one that he had used to kill thousands of humans, devils, elves and even some beastkin during the wars he waged with his brother.

"Ugh."

The shockwave put an end to Arthur's assault, and forced him to catch his breath.

Ursan pointed the spear end of his halberd at Arthur, and a white haze arose from his body.

"Battle Position!"

This spell increased one's physical abilities and reflexes. Of course, Battle Position required a constant stream of magic in order to keep it active, but it was nothing a superior stage grandmaster couldn't provide.

**BOOM!

Ursan kicked off the floor and rushed at Arthur.

"Die!"

He lunged at Arthur with his halberd.

"No thanks."

Arthur replied and quickly swung his semi-transparent blade.

***SWISH, SLASH.

The spear grazed his cheek, while Arthur's blade grazed Ursan's throat.

Though only flesh wounds, blood spilled out of their wounds.

That's how formidable both of their weapons were.

"kuk..."

Ursan took a step back and quickly casted basic healing magic on his neck. As it was just a small cut, the wound healed quickly.

Arthur's wound had also healed almost instantly too.

Despite the wound he suffered, Ursan boldly charged once more. It was as if he was saying,

'I don't give a shit about your attacks since I can just heal them!'

"Haahp!"

Arthur thought the same; he had no intention of retreating.

Arthur vs. Ursan.

They continued their bloody fight, unwilling to give the other an inch.

◇ ◇ ◇

Arthur attacked with a sword filled with aura, he also occasionally threw a few artifact generated disposable Daggers, while switching between Celestia and a pure aura blade depending on the situation.

Still, Ursan was by no means weak. Ursan was clearly a superior stage grandmaster! He was not to be underestimated.

Warrior's Strike, Lightning Spear.

He attacked with his shockwave generating warriors strike and the occasional lightning spear, and would use his armour and equipment's effects at all the right times.

Despite looking like normal leather armour, it was made of the hides of Phirex's strongest grand master level beasts.

Plus, Ursan was an experienced fighter, so he didn't crumble to Arthur's precise, yet unpredictable strikes which were aimed at his vitals.

Arthur and Ursan.

They fought to the 'death'.

This was no ordinary battle, where both sides aimed for the other's vitals and the victor was determined by good skill or technique use.

They predicted the other's next move, prepared for it, tricked the other, and reacted.

As a result, neither side could obtain a clear advantage over the other, and they couldn't help but acknowledge each other.

'He's strong! Far stronger than his brother.'

'He's tough! Far tougher than any devil I've ever fought.'

The two simultaneously widened the distance and caught their breath.

"I guess it's time to go all out," Ursan said.

Arthur agreed.

Although he hadn't tried everything against Ursan, among what he used, nothing had worked.

Even 'Sword of Victory' was unable to devour him like it did his brother.

'Plus he's skilled with magic too, healing his wounds and attacking with lightning.'

Ursan was a magic warrior, one who was exceptionally skilled in lightning magic. He even infused lightning into his attacks with the aim of at least stunning Arthur.

'But I've been having a really bad feeling for a while, it's like he has something that unsettles me.

Tasha and the others don't seem to be affected, so it's probably just me.'

Tasha and the other transcendents were done with most of the destruction Arthur assigned them.

The continents still stood but they won't be for long. Although this one had a few survivors, they would not last long.

Arthur was trying to focus his mind on Ursan but the more he did the more he felt unsettled.

It was a strange feeling, as if something in Ursan repulsed him, yet it felt so familiar to him.

'Familiar..? It couldn't be!?'

The moment he arrived at a conclusion he did not hesitate to increase the strength of his attacks, there would be adverse effects if Ursan used whatever trump card he was hiding and Arthur had to end him before then.

"Let's finish this,"

Arthur said, and then his aura exploded, Ursan could tell Arthur was about to use multiple powerful attacks at once.

'The mages are almost dead, the other generals are not any better too.

If he beats me, then it's only death that awaits me. At least, if I can beat him who seems to be the leader then I may be able to guarantee my survival,

As such, I can't afford to lose.'

Ursan used his own trump card, the very action that would grant him the most painful and gruesome death, that he would have never imagined.

◇ ◇ ◇

Hell.

It was a universe that was ruled by the devil race.

Various tribes and breeds of devils populated the majority of the planets of Hell.

But this did not mean that there were no other races.

Humans, elves, beastkin, demons, giants, titans, drifters, dragons, fairies and many more.

It was a universe that had over a hundred billion galaxies spanning over billions of light years. As such it was only natural that there would be tens of thousands of various races living within it.

And of course, even races who the devils considered enemies.

This included the Angels, the celestials and even the god race.

Despite there being gods in Hell, they were mostly low tier deities with the strongest being inferior stage mid tiers.

If any god was discovered to be in the superior stage of the low tier and above, they would be put under close watch by the devils and eliminated the moment they showed the slightest suspicious action.

But this did not mean they were not worshipped like the gods of other universes where the god race was the dominant one.

This was also the same way that even in universes ruled by gods like Veda, Romersk, and even Olympus, beings that worshipped the Titan and giants and Asuras that they considered enemies existed.

In hell, beings that worshipped gods existed, and though they were not much in the grand scale of things, it did not mean they were little either.

More than half the population of Phirex, worshipped various demigods and gods.

Although the gods were all low ranked, they were still gods.

Arthur knew this but still came over, after all, with his subordinates here, what god would dare take action against him.

The gods there knew it was suicide to take action against the devildom's prince so they all laid low ever since they noticed he had his eyes on Phirex.

However, one did not.

His name, Jarox.

The legendary warrior that the warriors and knights of Phirex worshipped was actually the incarnation of the god Jarox.

He was the one who granted the two emperor brothers strength and made them reach the superior stage of the grandmaster realm despite the low resources the planet had.

With that strength, they propagated his name and gained him more believers through war.

This in turn increased his power as the god race could temporarily strengthen themselves with the prayers of their believers.

Jarox came into contact with the spies sent by one of the god pantheons who were investigating Arthur's movements.

He hid them from their pursuers and struck a deal with them.

In return for helping him escape hell, he would give them a chance to potentially deal serious damage or eliminate Arthur.

He knew Arthur was the one who was investigating Gerix as he had captured and brainwashed some of Arthur's subordinates before, he also left no traces so this was never found out.

The plan was for when Arthur came here secretly, they would let the two emperors weaken him as they were aware, that due to Arthur's personality, he would never back off from a fight he could win.

They were aware of Arthur's ability to defeat superior stage grandmasters so they didn't have much hope for the two emperor brothers.

The plan was simple, they would attack Arthur when he had crushed the emperors, due to this being a secret visit, the estimated the number of guards with him would not be enough.

To be sure that Arthur himself was weakened so he could be killed easily by even a normal human, Jarox gave Ursan an artifact.

It was one that let him summon one of Jarox's servants. One of his soldiers from the army he had built up to oppose the other low rank gods who came to fight him for control over Phirex.

He had planned to watch the spectacle from afar with clairvoyance but what he saw was far from his expectations.

Arthur had ordered for the entire continent to be destroyed, this reduced his chances of temporarily strengthening himself as his believers were killed.

He discovered that Arthur was hiding his ability to use magic and aura.

However what shocked him most was Arthur's reaction to when Ursan summoned the soldier.
