Chapter 17 - All Gods Shall Tremble In Fear.

Name:Godslayer's Legend Author:_michael
If one were to observe a certain part of the void of space, they would be able to see a craft drifting across at a fast speed. At the helm of this craft was a man you could describe as very dark.

He was dressed casually with a black long sleeved turtleneck, black trousers and black shoes. Along with a black hoodie that had inhibition magic inscribed on it.

This man was none other than Hades, the Olympian god of the underworld. He was on his way to the home of the mother of his unborn child, who was also the prophesied 'child of destruction'.

'Persephone's reaction when I told her about this was quite funny, for me at least, she was very much pissed off. It was expected, anyone would if their spouse came home and suddenly knelt before them asking for an apology for sleeping with someone else'

He chuckled to himself as he remembered his wife's reaction to hearing that he had a child with another woman.

'But her reaction when I told her it was the prophesied child was the best'

He kept on chuckling to himself as he occasionally used illusion magic to fool the eyes of any who he came across, he did not want his journey to be interrupted after all.

All of a sudden, ambient energies around him became chaotic, just as He began wondering what the cause was, he suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of fear. One greater than the time he was about to be devoured by his father, Kronos.

He released the aura he barely managed to hide and summoned his trusty sword and his helm of darkness, looking around for what could have possibly caused him to feel such fear.

He then remembered the words of a certain prophecy he heard months ago.

'all gods of all worlds shall tremble in fear... so that was it. Never expected I'd be scared of my own son's birth.'

It was a fear that made him feel like his very existence was being threatened.

'Some might even flip out at this, they may try to kill the child, knowing that Diablo, there's no way he'd let such a thing happen though.'

Un-summoning his weapon and hiding his aura back he sighed, ignoring the gazes he felt around him due to his illusions being dispelled as he entered into the Hell universe.

◇ ◇ ◇

In another part of the cosmos, in a universe that the Olympians and those around them did not even know existed, a being was holding a sword in the middle of a desolate land.

The entire continent he was on was quiet without a single source of life, this being's body suddenly shook as if he felt his incoming doom before his aura abruptly exploded as he swung his sword forward. To anyone watching, it could be seen that, tens of worlds had been cleanly sliced in two before exploding as all their inhabitants had perished without knowing why.

Such unnecessary destruction, yet this being received no repercussions from any of the universal laws as he laughed at his handiwork.

'Finally, I have reached the superior stage.'

He thought to himself internally as he put his sword away.

'Bring an end to the gods huh? That's if you live long enough for that!'

Looking at the destruction, he had caused he spoke to no one in particular.

"If he lives long enough for me to see him, maybe I'd thank him, the fear of death he brought with his birth allowed me to breakthrough and become stronger after all".

In another unknown world, a being laying down on a grassy field opened her eyes as she stared into thin air.

'Should be about now I think.'

She stood up and dusted the little grass that had stuck to her light blue hair and the rest of her body before saying.

"A being that even I was barely able to see anything about, I'm quite interested. I wonder if we have the same affinity. Why is his index so high even though he was not born yet. So many questions, too bad I'd have to wait a few more years before getting an answer."

She sighed to herself wearing a downcast look on her face. Her facial expression then lit up as if she discovered a solution to her problem as she spoke.

"Let me find out what verse he's in first of all, so when he grows up I'd be able to find him easily. He might just be the help i need.

She shrugged her shoulders as six pairs of glistening pure white wings appeared at her back. She then disappeared after casting inter-versal teleportation magic with a level of speed and proficiency that would make even drifters cry out in shock.

In another section of the cosmos, the leader of the Vanir tribe of gods, Njord, sighed as he remembered the inexplicable fear he just felt.

It made him remember the times he faced against multiple giant kings at once, looking towards the old man sitting across him, he asked,

"What do you think?"

"We should wait and see before taking any action."

"Do you really think so? More importantly, is that really what you want to do."

"Obviously not, however my years of experience have told me, if we take any hasty action, we would definitely regret it."

"Make sure you tell that boy then, it seems his brother is the father, we can't let him jeopardize us all."

Despite the fact that Vanaheim and Olympus were allies, they still had spies in each others territory. Due to Apollo's actions, word had already spread that Olympus was involved with the child of destruction. He did contact other pantheons after all.

After instructing the spies to dig in to the topic, Njord did not take long to figure out that Hades was the one involved, that he was the child's father, especially as Hades didn't even try to hide himself anymore.

"I will, I will."

The old man nodded as he repeated those words multiple times. He then looked towards the direction of the universe he ruled, Asgard.

In an entirely white realm that had nothing but a Kotatsu table with mats for sitting in it, a shattering sound rang out as a cup of tea fell to the ground. Clicking her tongue, the one who dropped this cup spoke in annoyance.

"The stupid sense of fear should have come after I was done drinking my tea!"

As soon as she spoke, multiple lesser gods who seemed to be shivering slightly appeared and cleaned up the mess before placing two new sets of teacups, one for her and one for the man seated opposite her.

"Give it to me, I'd do it myself, I don't want any more tea getting wasted."

She grabbed the teapot from the one holding it and poured the tea for herself.

"What's got you so annoyed this time?"

"Isn't it that damn prophesied child, he was just born but I don't like him already, he blocked out all my suns and most importantly, he made me waste perfectly good tea."

Seeing the woman in front of him being more concerned about tea than the birth of a being that could end their entire race, the man sighed to himself before then spoke with a joking tone.

"I would like to partake of the tea prepared by the fair lady."

As she poured some of the tea into the cup in front of him, she replied with a slightly annoyed look.

"When will you quit speaking like that Susanoo?"

"Probably when you stop being weirdly fixated on tea, Amaterasu."

As he replied, he took a sip of the tea before continuing.

"Delicious as always, still are you really doing nothing about this? No actions taken?"

"What can I say or do? Lord Izanagi stated we were to make no moves. He was even more annoyed than that time he cut up Ho-Musubi"

As he heard her reply, Susanoo sighed once again thinking to himself.

'I really hope that's the best decision.'

Somewhere else, at the top of a Mountain nearly seven thousand meters above the ground, a castle sat there with an enormous courtyard in front of it. At the side of the castle's main doors, a black bull with an imposing horn laid on the ground sleeping quietly.

This bull was decorated with various golden jewels and other valuable treasures. As it breathed in an out in its sleep, waves of great magic power that most Arch Mages couldn't dream of possessing were emitted from its nostrils.

However, this could not compare to the amount that could be felt coming from inside the castle. On a throne, a being with pale white blue skin could be seen seated upon it. He possessed four arms and a third eye on his forehead that was currently closed, however just looking at if made one feel dread towards what could possibly happen if it was open, at the same time it gave off a feeling that made one also feel awe towards it.

This being was laughing in such a way that would make one think he just heard the funniest joke of all times, however the look on his face would make you think otherwise.

"Lord Destroyer, please calm yourself."

One of the many people around this being could be heard repeating these words while kneeling, however the one they spoke to did not seem to even consider their presence as he spoke,

"He made this me, tremble in fear, Ha!, I must end his puny existence."

As he spoke, he stood up from his throne, ignoring the cries of the lesser Devas around him trying to calm him down and begging him to not take the actions he intended to. He walked out of the castle and spoke to the bull sleeping outside.

"Nandi, rise up, we have a job to do."

At the sound of his voice, the bull opened his eyes, and then stood up as jewels that decorated his body flashed before bieing replaced with a golden battle armour. Before he could speak any further, he suddenly sensed a presence of another being comparable to him.

The darkened sky seemed to brighten up a little as the figure of a head with three faces having different expressions, one happy, one sad, and one indifferent appeared. Looking at this figure that appeared in the sky, the being on the ground rested two of his arms on the bull standing beside him and spoke a single name,

"Brahma."

"Calm yourself Shiva, do not make a hasty decision in a fit of rage." The happy face on the figure in the sky who was Brahma, one of the three supreme beings of the Vedic Pantheon. In response to this, the being on the ground, another of the three Supreme beings and the god of Destruction replied in anger,

"Calm myself, that child is a threat to our very existence, he cannot be allowed to grow or he shall become a threat to the order we preserve."

"I know this however there seems to be more to this than it seems, so I request you do not take action yet."

Shiva pondered on Brahma's reply slightly before asking,

"Are these your thoughts on this matter?"

"Mine and that of Vishnu too."

Hearing that the third of the Supreme beings was also on board with the idea of non-aggression, Shiva finally calmed down and agreed to not take action.

"Thank you for hearing me out." Brahma's happy face smiled widely before disappearing from the sky. As he disappeared, Shiva told Nandi to return his rest before walking back into his castle.

An Arch devil sat on a throne made of the large bones of unknown creatures, moving a pun across a chessboard as he spoke to the Greater Demon who sat on a similar throne across him,

"Diablo's daughter seems to have safely given birth, shall we go and congratulate him?"

"Hmm...the child seems to be the reason for the current unnecessary darkness too, oh well, when the eclipse ends we shall make our way to his Burning Realms to show our goodwill."

"The child may be a potential ally in our war with the celestials too, we should begin getting him on our side from now."

"You really are a meticulous fellow." The demon chuckled to himself as he replied before placing down the chess piece in his hands.

"Check mate."

◇ ◇ ◇

In Egito, a ship could be seen moving across a river of stars as a single being stood at its helm. His usual robe that glowed as bright as the sun was darkened as he stared at the darkness in front of him.

A sound of flapping wings could be heard before an armored being descended upon the ship, he retracted his wings as the helmet of his armor faded away, replaced the a crown with a cobra atop his head. He spoke out to the being on the helm of the ship,

"All father."

The being on the helm looked down at the appearance of the one who spoke towards him before replying.

"Hold on Horus, I need to deal with this worm first."

The one known as Horus was initially confused however that did not last long, a deafening roar was heard as the ship they were on shook as if it were scared, looking forward, he could see the appearance of a gigantic serpent and understood what the one he called 'All Father' referred to as a worm.

The serpent was large enough to easily coil itself around a galaxy. Yes! It was that big, it roared once again towards the ship approaching. The roar resounded across almost all of Egito. In the worlds below, trillions of beings heard this roar as most of them instantly ceased their current actions before kneeling and taking a position of prayer.

Many rushed into temples as they bowed down in front of the statues in front praying, some knelt in front of the altars in their homes as they prayed reverently. However, they all had one thing in common, that was that their various prayers could all be summed up in one line.

"Oh great Ra, protect us from the serpent Apophis."

As the hundreds of trillions of beings who heard this devastating roar began praying, the being standing at the helm of the ship sailing the river of stars, the god Ra, stared at the giant serpent approaching him put down the flail in his arms as his body suddenly swelled with power.

This was one of the god race's racial trait, to convert the prayers of their true believers into power to temporarily strengthen themselves, using this power, he swung down the crook in his hand multiple times. Multiple flashes of golden light could be seen as the serpent moved to dodge, however its large body prevented it from doing so fully.

It was hit by most of the flashes of light as its skin began to burn, it roared in pain before turning back and retreating into the darkness that even Ra did not dare tread lightly in.

After this, the excess power in Ra's body faded away as he picked up the flail he dropped, walking down to the surprised Horus who was still in shock from what he just witnessed. Ra looked towards him and asked,

"How is your sight?"

At this question, Horus recovered from his shock as he replied depreciatingly,

"I still see, as good as any mortal can however."

Hearing his reply, Ra felt sad as he looked at the darkened eyes of Horus. Horus was a god whose right eye was the sun or morning star, representing power and quintessence, and whose left eye was the moon or evening star, representing healing. However, both his eyes were currently darkened and did not have their usual entrancing glow.

"Worry not child, it is only temporary."

"I know, but I still can't help but feel peeved. This being was just born and he already caused so much, he even weakened you to this level as he blocked out the suns."

"It is not the fault of the child, as you said, he was just born so he knows nothing. Let us not involve ourselves in his matters, I do not wish to bring misfortune upon ourselves and the ones who we are meant to protect."

As he spoke, he looked down on the trillions of beings who had gone back to their daily duties after thanking him for protecting them from the serpent Apophis. He thought back to the fear he felt not long ago, as he felt like Apophis had swallowed the Nile he currently sailed on and sighed.

◇ ◇ ◇

Various powers across the cosmos sensed the birth of the prophesied child and had a multitude of different reactions. Some raged, some were calm. Some believed it was impossible for the prophesied child to fulfill its destiny while some simply just did not care.

A few theorized about what abilities the child could have that would enable him to kill even gods while some believed he would possess nothing of the sort. Some shamans said that the child was simply going to be the first of his kind, as many more like him would appear in the future.

A lot schemed in the shadows while some celebrated the child's birth.

◇ ◇ ◇

In a certain place a group of beings were currently engaged in a conversation about the prophesied child. One that would make many tilt their heads in question.

"So that kid was just born, should we really leave him alone, casualty acted on his behalf you know?"

The one who was asked this opened his closed eyes and replied.

"We are of a higher race than they are, nothing he does would affect us."

"Where was he born though? I want to take a peek." Another voice asked amusedly.

"In that devil's home."

"That Devil? Oh!, you mean Lucifer? So they were related huh?"

"Yes, the child's mother is Lucifer's descendant."

"The father?"

"He's from that universe both of you did that experiment in."

"The one with the time candidate right?, what happened to him anyway."

"He got defeated by his children so I took away his candidacy, if he could be defeated by his children with how weak they were at the time then he won't be able to survive the next phase."

"Too bad for him, still that child is the descendant of two candidates, he shouldn't be weak then."

"We would never know what happens in the future, besides you that is."

"It's not my jurisdiction so I can only see limited things."

As the two beings conversed the others present simply looked on, interjecting at some moments while remaining silent most of the time. One of them looked in a certain direction before speaking.

"I wonder how she'd react."

◇ ◇ ◇

In a realm that can only be described as golden, a golden clothed figure on a golden throne slightly shook before opening their eyes. She then looked up as she felt a gaze upon her.

"Don't be bothered on how I'd react, I can deal with myself just fine."

No sort of aura of power could be felt from her yet she still had an intimidating air about her that could make ones hair stand on ends just by being in her presence.

She then walked out of the room, into a golden hall filled with hundreds of kneeling figures. Looking them she spoke, her voice sounded sweet and euphonious to all who heard.

"It seems it's not a hoax this time, go out and find him."

"Yes my lady!"

The hundreds of kneeling figures responded in unison before disappearing from their positions as they moved to various locations to fulfill the order they've just been given.

Left alone in the hall, she spoke out to no one in particular.

"If you truly want to end them all, you'd have to kill me first, let's wait and see if you're up to the task."
