Chapter 59 - Clearing Red Name

Name:God-Level Hero Author:Big Ashtray
The entire Hero Forum in the China server exploded.

It was fine to cheat. It was fine to PK. It was fine to rob others. However, if you tried to cheat, PK, and rob others in front of millions of audience members, that was a big deal. This was an embarrassment for the world to see! People could imagine how many other countries would be laughing at this footage.

As everyone watched this, how should the mastermind behind all this, Raging Sea of Blood, respond? Logically speaking, the merchants were too greedy and silly. They deserved to be cheated, especially since they tried to collude with the enemy. Raging Sea of Blood could not tolerate that! However, if he did not do anything to compensate them, who would still take the wanted order seriously? Where would his studio’s authority go?

Fortunately, none of the players lost their lives. After the Blood Sea Studio’s management team discussion, they decided to compensate the players by converting their cargo value to cash compensation. This at least consoled the merchants. Furthermore, they all posted on the China server forum, warning everyone against selling their purchase orders to trash Da Fei. That way, even if Da Fei had a huge ship, he would not be able to carry much cargo. The posts flooded the forum and received overwhelming replies.

To Raging Sea of Blood, his true goal had been obtained. Da Fei was shamed by the entire China server and became public enemy number one. How long more could he survive? You want to play with me? Pui! I’ll kill you!

Just then, Da Fei finally arrived at the port with his 800 orders of cargo worth 40,000 gold coins. A few Golden Armor Knights riding Dragon Eagles landed in front of him.

—”You are suspected of illegal practices. Your ship will be impounded and your movement will be limited. Please cooperate and follow us for an investigation.”

These were the legendary City Inspectors with mysterious combat prowess. Players would assume that they could defeat these officers once they reached Level 100 or so. However, once they actually reached that level, they would realize that the closer they were to God, the tinier they felt.

As a Red Name who had been chased and surrounded by countless people, Da Fei suddenly felt like he finally met a trustworthy organization! He finally felt relaxed and freed. “I willingly accept the investigation!”

The scenery around Da Fei suddenly changed with a flash of white light. He appeared in a solemn and grand black hall. On the high tower right in the middle of the hall, there was an NPC wearing a black coat with the name “Adjudicator”. His dignified voice could be heard throughout the hall as he banged his gavel. “Do you know your sins?”

—System Message: As a Red Name, you face the following adjudication. You can choose to accept any one of the following punishments.

What else is there to say? Why did I cheat so many people of their cargo?

Da Fei nodded and said, “I know my sins! I will change! I’m willing to hand over my cargo in order to repent for my mistakes.”

The judge was satisfied. “Money cannot clear your sins. However, you get a chance to rehabilitate and make yourself into a better person while on bail. You must cherish God’s forgiveness. Know your place and become a better person!”

—System Message: You handed over 235 orders of cargo worth 12,310 gold coins to be released on bail. You became a Yellow Name.

—Yellow Name: Protected by the same laws and citizen rights as a White Name player. However, your Reputation points are still negative. You must accumulate your own Reputation or donate at churches in order to completely atone for your sins.

The scenery changed again. Da Fei appeared at the dock.

As Da Fei looked at the blue sky, the flying seagulls, the bustling crowd, and the busy port, he finally felt a sense of belonging, like he finally returned to a civilized society. Da Fei let out a breath of relief. I’m finally safe. This calm and steady feeling is so amazing!

What now? Of course, he had to check on his sweetheart on his ship.

Needless to say, Da Fei was greeted by his sweetheart’s passionate hug. “Captain, it’s wonderful that you came out so fast!”

Ah~ As Da Fei enjoyed the pressure exerted by her voluptuous body, he gently caressed her back and smiled. “Who am I? How can they lock me there? Wahahaha!”

Katerina laughed. “That’s right. If the Captain can’t get out, I can’t get off this ship. That will be so stifling for me.”

Da Fei smiled and said, “Let’s go. We’ll create a Sailing Permit at the Alliance of Sea Merchants. After that, we’ll sell our cargo. Once we earn some money, the first thing I’ll do is buy you some pretty clothes.”

Katerina smiled and said, “Our cash flow is tight now. Don’t rush to buy clothes. We just lost 235 orders of cargo. Most of the remaining goods are produced from this port. They will only sell for 70% of the import price here. Some of them came from nearby ports. Those can bring us a little bit of profit. We can probably earn around 30,000 gold coins. After repairing the ship with that money, we’ll have around 20,000 gold coins. That’s enough to pay for the deposit of the transport missions from the Chamber of Commerce.”

Who said that she’s a gold digger? She’s so smart and virtuous!

Da Fei exclaimed, “Alright, we’ll do as you say!” I probably pissed off everyone after lying to those merchants just now, right? It’s probably impossible for me to buy purchase orders from players. I can only accept long-distance transport missions from the Chamber of Commerce.

Da Fei walked on the main street with Katerina and his big Yellow Name. He instantly attracted everyone’s attention. The entire city’s chat channel exploded.

“That trash liar Da Fei appeared!”

“Trash! He used all the cargo he cheated from others to clear his Red Name!”

“Don’t sell any purchase orders to this trash! Let him waste the space on his big ship!”

Da Fei felt a wave of emotions. How many years has it been since I last heard such passionate screams? That was my youth. That was my passion. That was the period of no regret when my blood still boiled!

A huge crowd stopped Da Fei in his tracks. The leader was someone called Earthshaking Cannon. These players stared menacingly at Da Fei. Then, they turned to stare at the sexy Katerina with envy and lust.

Da Fei looked at the dwarf disdainfully out of the corner of his eyes and sighed. “Excuse me. It’s illegal to hold up traffic. Everyone, you need to be law-abiding, good players!”

—Sputter! Everyone spat out some blood! Earthshaking Cannon angrily pointed at Da Fei and threatened him. “We’ll see! Don’t let my brothers and I see you again!”

Who is that? Da Fei shook his head and squeezed through the crowd, leaving everyone berating and scolding him from behind.

After that, he created a Sailing Permit at the Alliance of Sea Merchants. The location where the Sailing Permit was created was very important. If it was created in Erolyn, players could purchase more goods in the city. This was why players from other Kingdoms chose to come to Erolyn. Of course, those players still had tighter restrictions on a purchase than local players, but at the same time, they possessed unique advantages as well.

After settling the permit, I have to go to the trading exchange to sell my goods. Even though I only have half my purchase orders left, this is still my first bucket of gold. Wahahahaha!

There was a dispirited player sitting in front of the exchange, Sword from the West. He raised his head as he heard some cursing and yelling. He saw Da Fei coming straight toward him with a complex expression.

Da Fei shook his head and patted him on the shoulder. “Brother, you have been wronged!”

Everyone cursed. “Look at that. I knew it. They’re on the same side!”

Sword from the West slapped Da Fei’s hand away and stood up before yelling angrily, “He’s a liar. I’m not on the same side as him!”

Da Fei sighed. “Life is like the tide of the sea, sometimes it rises and sometimes it falls. You’ll always have to fight before you can win…”

Sword from the West said angrily, “You make it sound so easy! All my money is gone now. Boss thinks I’m a liar too, so he’s not compensating me. My reputation is ruined. I can’t do this anymore.”

Oh, the emphasis is that the boss didn’t give him any money? Da Fei sighed. “Then?”

Sword from the West stared into Da Fei’s eyes and said with a deep voice. “I have one final request! I want to fight you one-on-one in the arena!”

If players died during PKs held in arenas, they would not suffer any losses.

Da Fei asked, “So, you want to kill me there?”

Sword from the West said with a deep voice, “That’s right!”

Da Fei shook his head. “You won’t stand a chance.”

Sword from the West gritted his teeth. “Chance doesn’t matter!”

Da Fei sighed. “Alright. Since you helped me out once before, I’ll let you work through your thoughts.”

Accompanied by everyone’s cursing and shouting, the two of them arrived at the arena in the city.

Da Fei sighed. “Turn on the Public Mode.”

Sword from the West yelled. “I will be settling things with the liar Da Fei at the arena! Come watch us if you’re interested!”

Everyone cursed again. “You’re just acting again. Why not PK in the wild if you dare to?!”

Sword from the West looked even more angry and upset now. Despite all this, when the two of them entered the arena, tens of players still spectated from the audience stand.

Sword from the West faced Da Fei and his sub-hero and decisively said, “Let’s begin!”

Da Fei squatted down and shook his head. “Wait for a while more.”

“For what?”

Da Fei shook his head and kept silent. Of course I’m waiting for more audience members. Some of them will surely believe in you, right? If nobody actually believes you, you might as well just walk down the wrong path and become my little brother. You seem like a loyal person with a calculative mind, much better than that Dawei. You just don’t understand my concern for you.

The arena was slowly filled with hundreds of people. Everyone was soon shouting and cursing at them. It was about time.

Da Fei did not stand up. Instead, he just said calmly, “Let’s begin.”

Sword from the West unsheathed his dual blades and ran toward Da Fei.

Katerina rushed forward as well!

Everyone turned silent. She was only the second female Hero in the server. Everyone was looking forward to seeing her real power! Even though nobody thought that the Level 20 Sword from the West stood a chance, he was also someone with high Attack Speed. They wanted to see just how wide the gap was!

A flash of blood and white light was seen!

—Sword from the West: Your sub-hero, Katerina, dealt 46 points of Damage against Sword from the West. Sword from the West has been affected by the paralytic toxin. His movement is restricted!

Everyone clamored!

The second flash of blood was seen!

—System Message: Your sub-hero, Katerina, dealt 14 points of Damage against Sword from the West. She has defeated Sword from the West!

Everyone turned silent.

Da Fei sighed. “If we’re at sea, you will be dead after the first strike. I don’t know what’s the secret ultimate move you have. It might be a scroll that can deal an instant kill. However, you really have no chance.”

After that, Sword from the West slowly sat up. His face was pale and his body trembled. His dream was shattered!

After a brief period of silence, everyone started discussing the fight.

Sword from the West looked around and yelled at the top of his lungs with his final energy. “I, Sword from the West, never lied to anyone. To prove my innocence, I will log off and delete my account!!!”

Accompanied by everyone’s clamor, Sword from the West logged off and disappeared!

What the heck? Did he seriously delete his account? Da Fei sighed. What good will that do you? How much is the innocence of an unimportant character like you worth? Do you think that you can shock everyone and make some people shed a tear for you?

Whatever. I’ve cured another teenager with internet addiction. What the heck. I’m a professional player, okay. If I cure everyone, what will I do for a living?
