338 To find the best color

Name:Get Back to You Author:ljack_ace
Working with Lillian for years made Jenna well-versed with the author's will. She knew that if they deny with her request, the two could never get back to work. Plus, there are tons of things to take care of back in the office. Jenna scraped her mind to invent a plan that could help her get out of here quickly.

"Let's get it over with this madness soon, so that we can grab our lunch on the way back to survive the rest of the day, Ms. Giselle!" Jenna signals to look around the shop, examining its atmosphere and arrangements as the first step to escape.

Having no choice left and also from peeking a short glance at Lillian, Giselle, too, felt her unyielding determination. Both the editors took deep breaths to join hands.

Exploring the space around to study its variety of displays, Jenna, first, suggested going with the color red as it is common in Lillian's closet besides looking good on her. Lillian thought to consider the proposal, but from analyzing Giselle's unimpressed face, she rejected the idea even though it could have saved their time.

"Giselle doesn't prefer the color red, hence rejected!"

Jenna hissed from Lillian's cruel judgment since she had already picked a few red-colored outfits to let Lillian choose one and get it done. Returning the clothes she had gathered, she approached her comrade, who can become a savior in this situation.

"Ms. Giselle-" Jenna whispered to draw attention while being wary of Lillian's presence.

"Ms. Giselle, tell me your favorite color!" she asked.

By choosing Giselle's favorite color and picking a random outfit along with a few sugar-coated remarks, Jenna thought she could satisfy Lillian's request. However, to her panic, Giselle refused to share as she considered that by simply choosing her favorite color will never honestly meet Lillian's appeal.

"Plus, I'm not sure if Lillian would look good in pink."

"Pink is your favorite color!" Jenna asked again as she knew what reaction she would receive from the other party.

"Yes, I wasn't picky until Lia was born. I used to shop for her and noticed a lot of cute little dresses. Eventually, pink became my favorite."

Giselle gloated in delight while Jenna sighed to take a risk.

"Let's check it!" she said to push Lillian into the changing room, muttering while she collected clothes on random sight. With the help of the salesgirl assisting, Jenna arranged an outfit to let Lillian try.

Seeing how the two got involved, Lillian agreed to model the look for her audience. She stripped her casual jeans and a black turtle neck top to change and soon came out to fashion the chosen style.

A rosy floral tunic top with pastel pink trousers!

Lillian came out to stand in front of a full-sized mirror and encountered an alarming sight.

"Top to bottom baby pink?"

"But you look good, Ms. Grey!"

Jenna was sincere this time, and she did notice the color soften Lillian's stern nature.

"I reek of delicacy and sweetness!" Lillian hissed to even more criticism.

Her clear rejection saddened Giselle, who silently watched Lillian dress up in her favorite color. She secretly adored while hearing her hatred rant. Jenna observed to signal the disheartened Giselle before advancing with her bet.

"What a waste, Ms. Grey!" she began, mourning solemnly.

"Even though you look good in Ms. Giselle's favorite color-"

Jenna's remark sank into Lillian's skull, slowly comprehending her previous behavior. Nonetheless, Jenna continued mercilessly.

"What a pity! She did warn me sadly that you won't like it."

Another punch Lillian felt in her gut strongly that she loosened her balance. Her face began to expose her inner conflict, yet Jenna stretched with brutal passion.

"It seems Ms. Giselle's fears have become real," Jenna ended with a hurtful sigh, to conclude her deliberate act.

"Giselle's favorite color!" Lillian repeats after Jenna.

She then looks at Giselle to confirm if it was true. Giselle agrees to avert her face in subtle disappointment. Lillian knew she screwed up that moment, but still, she couldn't believe pink being Giselle's favorite color.

"Pink is your favorite color?" she asked again in disbelief.

"Why? What do you mean? Is it wrong to adore the color?" Jenna joined in inquiring.

"No- no-"

Lillian denied, thinking to herself that since Giselle used to smell like a lavender scent, she thought it would be the color she would admire, but Lillian was wrong. It got stuck in her mind until she glanced again still to find Giselle in discomfort.

Defeated by her own action, Lillian stood bewildered from reacting. She couldn't conjure to face Giselle, much less her gaze settled frightened on Jenna, who is by now gleaming in her triumph. Soon collecting herself from falling into the pit, Lillian winced to regain reality. A streak of a short and thin laugh follows as she snatched a glimpse at Giselle. The slight asymmetry in smile lines and an enduring grin lingered out of her misery from discovering Giselle's averted gaze and a subtle defeat. Such little frustration amplified to Lillian's world, and she feared if she had hurt Giselle's feelings with her prejudiced rejection.

Taking another awkward look of herself into the mirror, the soft nature of the hue added with Giselle's interest, suddenly made the color appealing as Lillian thought of a way for recovery. She twisted her waist to flaunt the outfit for drawing the attention of a sad face and a secretly grinning face.

"I don't think it makes me look that worse!" she made a comeback with her shameless surrender.

Lillian acted afresh by continuing her glitzy twirls from the newly found awareness and expressed her fondness over the color and the courtesy of the one who recommended. After all, it wasn't hot pink to dazzle someone, but a soft, pastel shade that Lillian began to acknowledge.

"I think it looks pretty good, isn't it, Jenna?" she said to tempt her editor.

"Didn't you hate it a few seconds ago?" Jenna exclaimed with contempt.

Regardless, Lillian went on to explain how she thought the other two might find it weird from seeing her fashion a full baby pink look. Jenna agreed aloud to tease as Lillian gritted her teeth to silence the rascal.

"I must say this, Ms. Grey, the color does make you look more feminine!" Jenna admits.

"I am a woman, Jenna!" Lillian exclaimed sorely.

"You are, but wearing red color always made you look more feisty like wildfire. It's good that we're doing this to expand your horizon."

In the end, Lillian accepted Jenna's words to shift her attention to someone else.

"What do you think, Giselle?"

She said to approach while Giselle slowly began to regain her composure from Lillian's flaunting. She grew startled when Lillian got closer enough, violating her personal space.

"What do you think?" Lillian muttered closely as the two entered a world of only the two.

Giselle, who was brimming with anger at Lillian for disturbing her at work, slowly began to get nervous from the closeness. She knew her heart is going crazy while her mind, barely managing to stay calm. Ignoring the proximity, Giselle took a detailed glance at the outfit, keeping her focus on the apparel and found herself satisfied for suggesting.

No longer did her emotions seduce, and she beamed to plot a sweet little revenge by invading Lillian's boundary with a couple of touches.

Lillian flinched from the act as sinful sweat sprouted on her spine from Giselle's daring response. She quivered and found herself gasping for air inside. The center of her brain got stuck as she stood like a statue for the inspection.

It was always Lillian, who used to be display confidence with Giselle. However, seeing the same shy girl now respond to her playful teases panicked Lillian. At the same time, she noticed Jenna from a distance. Even though Lillian loved Giselle's attack, she couldn't enjoy it candidly. Hence she shut her feelings to endure the torture.

After checking the fit by taking her time, Giselle lastly agreed.

"Yes, it looks good on you!" she commented with a suppressed smirk and continued to watch Lillian still stiff as a rock.

Just when the two lived in their own world, Jenna's voice landed like a crashing meteorite, alarming Lillian to purchase the dress and leave at once, hurrying the decision. However, instead of Lillian, this time, it was Giselle who displayed a red flag.

"What?"

"I'm surprised to see that the color suits her complexion, but I agree that the outfit doesn't match her personality. Also, there are a variety of shades in the pink family, and we need to find the perfect one-" Giselle explained.

"Gill is making a debut, so I want Lillian to look more handsome and cool to her fans. What she needs is not my favorite color, but the best version of my favorite color, which she likes at first sight as well," she added with a smile that ultimately defeated Lillian, who only had her eyes set at Giselle.

Lillian's face reddened to expose herself from resisting too much.

Luckily, Giselle's attention exclusively aimed at Jenna and vice versa.

The salesgirl assisting them so far noticed Lillian blush with a mixture of emotions that eventually settled on a heartening smile.

Jenna tried to convince, but Giselle let her take rest while she takes charge of fulfilling Lillian's request. Her reassuring words influenced Jenna and triggered Lillian Grey, who got released from her solid-state to watch Giselle move around the store in joy.
