332 To find love!

Laura groaned out loud as the waitress returned with their food. As she served the customers, she heard audible sighs and feared if her service bought forth any inconvenience as the beaten faces rested stiffly. To her relief, Laura reassured the kind lady that she was not any part of her distress and sent her off cheering.

Returning to sigh aloud again, Laura noticed Bridgette isn't jolting to her explicit efforts, so she chose to use verbal conduct.

"Every woman in this town can tell that he is madly in love with you-"

"Every woman, Bridgette!" Laura stressed to stimulate.

Bridgette didn't respond but silently began to eat her chicken potpie, as warm and hot as it is. The first bite was blissful when it entered the mouth, and she savored every chew on it.

The strength she gained from the food gave her the time and energy to respond.

"Ms. Laura, I kindly request you to eat your burger. It is inexcusable for you to torture me with that."

"Why?" Laura raged to her disdain.

Startled, Bridgette explained how she couldn't eat such meals while having to maintain her figure for the play. Unsatisfied and even more upset from her useless answer, Laura intervened again to confront Bridgette, summoning her to reveal the truth- the reason why she isn't dating anyone.

"No! I know you want to a successful actor, but it doesn't mean you should restrain from dating colleagues. You both started theatre at the same time, right?"

Laura said to follow and eloquently used the knife to cut the burger into pieces and then consume it with grace.

Adrianne Gavin Garner pursued his career in Broadway the same time when Bridgette entered the profession. Besides being three years older than her, both amateurs joined with plain passion and began to develop experience. Gavin being extremely gifted with his exceptional talent and great knack in portraying the characters, overtook Bridgette in a short time. He received several opportunities and recognition. Meanwhile, Bridgette had to struggle to get thus far by learning and polishing her acts. By the time she reached the entrance of getting familiar with her talent inside the industry, Gavin already rose to fame. Throughout the time they spent together, somehow, Gavin ended up falling for Bridgette. Despite the difference in their career accomplishments, Gavin never gloated to his skyrocketed name or mocked at Bridgette's lag. He went to every show of Bridgette's and showed his support from afar- all while carrying his love for her secretly.

And years passed, to them playing hide and seek as the grownup adults. Knowing both too well individually, Laura hoped the two actors to get together, but that hope got rusted to her long-lasted await.

Now, reflecting to find the same old Laura in front of her, Bridgette could no longer seek the silence anymore. She admits to her wish- never to date until her career takes off.

Laura's persistence made Bridgette scowl in ache.

"What's the problem? You don't like him?"

Stuttering to Laura's direct interrogation, Bridgette found herself refusing to reply.

"You've worked hard all these years, and finally it paid off. Your career is booming now, so take time to find love and feel it," Laura expressed in a delight.

"Trust me, it's a beautiful feeling, being in love-" she added with a cheer.

"Just because I landed on good gig doesn't mean I should slack off now. Laura, I don't have the time to think about dating! Can we stop doing this now?" Bridgette begged.

"You are not slacking off!"

That wasn't the point, but Bridgette felt the conversation going nowhere unless Laura hears satisfying answers to quench her curiosity.

Bridgette had a rough beginning in her Broadway life. She got rejected, failed, and replaced quickly at the start of her career. Only after becoming Laura's understudy, she began to learn the way her job operates and its nuances. She fashioned herself to become a better actor- all while only keeping her thirst to improve and nevermore a man to date. Now that she got a permanent spot to play a part, she wanted to focus even more than before to sustain her new success and began to grow her career steadily. Laura was aware of all this and knew that Bridgette never settled for a decent relationship. Though she did, out of courtesy, went out with guys who asked her for a date, Gavin appears to take a unique spot in her life. She could have gone on a date with him and rejected like she does usual, but that never happened.

"Maybe there's another reason why you don't answer his calls-" Laura assumed to a sudden twist of sprouting insights.

Baffled from her view, Bridgette finished her tea in one go to hurt herself from the burning in her throat. She needed to take a sip of water to relieve the volcanic reaction inside her mouth.

"Your clumsiness is proving my suggestion, darling!"

Bridgette remained tongue-tied until the flame faded. She is no longer enjoying this treat and the way it turned out for her.

"This is nuts. I'll tell Gavin that you are willing," Laura made a quick choice to startle her partner once again. Frightened to her stomach, Bridgette felt as if the fire descended to her core, and she enraged to reject the idea. Laura crossed her for a valid reason, but she became speechless again.

"Alright! Forget about him for a minute and tell me honestly, what do you think of Gavin?"

Not having the patience to veer anymore, Bridgette admits to her admiration for the guy and the attraction she feels towards Gavin.

"Then, go date him-" Laura hissed to lecture.

"I don't think it is love, Laura."

"That is because you haven't given him a chance."

Bridgette still refused to encourage the idea.

"Why?" Laura exploded from Bridgette's insecure answer.

"I can't, Laura. I can't, right now!"

Bridgette refused, insisting that it was not the time to entertain herself when a dear friend is desperately trying to overcome the rejection. Laura saw Bridgette's face fell to gloom. Respecting her decision, she withdrew herself from continuing the charges.

"Fine! Let's eat our meals and talk about something else-" Laura said to order a drink only for her while Bridgette ate her potpie, no longer being able to enjoy its warmth.
