Chapter 101 - Part 3. New Identity.

August 3rd, 1959. 07:59:25.

Inside a rented apartment's kitchen, Ezekiel sat on the only table of the house as he enjoyed the breakfast he made due to his body's basic needs returning. Slowly, he finished eating as he got up and walked towards the sink with all the tableware and cleaned them each carefully before proceeding to clean his hands and walk out of the small kitchen. Going to the only bedroom, he opened the closet as he took out his hanger with his coat, whilst also socks.

Finished with everything necessary for his new day's plan, Ezekiel walked out of his apartment as the Sun shone brightly on the already occupied roads and streets. Crossing the road, he went to the newsstand as he scanned the weird posters glued to the wall, the diverse magazines…moving forward, he observed the man who put down his papers before speaking.

"Good Morning, give me today's paper and that red figure's Comic Magazine" said Ezekiel while taking out the money from his coat.

Seller: "Good Morning to you young lad, I haven't seen you around previously, new here?" asked while handing both items and taking the money.

Ezekiel: "Yes, just moved in yesterday" he said while placing the comic inside his coat, "well, I will be going. Goodbye" he bid his farewell while speaking more than he almost did his journey around the Multiverse till now.

Seller: "Have a nice day, lad" he said as he sat once again and started reading his previous papers.

Walking from his right side forward, Ezekiel looked at the shops around as he finally reached the florist. Entering inside, the little bell on the top rang as the owner turned over with the scissors in her hands and the bottle of water. Going towards the counter he spoke what he needed as they are the experts and flowers were not a topic he researched or studied around.

Ezekiel: "Excuse me, I would like to buy a flower bouquet for a family reunion" he said whilst observing the portrait behind her.

Seller: "Hmm…" she looked at him, before asking, "are you meeting after a long time, or first time…?" asking detailed information which shouldn't be necessary.

"First time" Ezekiel said while shifting his gaze and observing her if there is any sort of anomaly around.

Seller: "Well, if it's the first time meeting then I would recommend this…or this one" she said while walking out and leading him to two different choices.

Looking at both, Ezekiel chose the second as it brought a contrast with each other colors within, "this one, please".

The woman packed the bouquet as Ezekiel paid her and left from there directly to the 'family reunion'.

Yesterday's entire day was spent similarly from his arrival in this world. After reaching his destination, due to not knowing whether if part of the same gang facility lived within the city of Los Angeles too, he left behind the car as he walked what was left to reach where he wished. Although he had the information about Silk Spectre residing within this part of the city, Ezekiel wasn't sure where, for which after much of his investigation he found their residing home. Using the money he borrowed previously, he rented an apartment not far from theirs as he also bought groceries and falsified an identity that will come much in handy for today's meeting.

Stopping outside a house's backyard, Ezekiel put the newspaper he read through the way inside his coat, as he walked through the steps which lay on the floor to not destroy the green. Reaching to the door, he stopped and knocked…

*Knock, Knock, Knock*

Three simple knocks, as seconds passed before footsteps neared and the door was opened. Looking up to the man who stood outside her house's door, the little girl asked with a little guard up, which she learned due to her mother. "Hello mister, who are you?" asked with eyes wide open.

Observing the little girl's reaction, Ezekiel looked at her carefully as her face resembled that of an orphan he used to take care of back in his Earth and couldn't help but bend down to her level, "Hello, my name is Ezekiel Kosmos. These are for you" he said while giving her the flower bouquet.

"Thank you" she smiled cheerfully as her guard went away, and continued looking at him, "can I help you, mister?" asked with the flowers in her hand.

Ezekiel: "Yes, I would like to talk to your mother about a family matter, if you wouldn't mind".

"Hmm…you can come in, mother is in the bathroom" she said while opening the door to him.

Ezekiel: "I will wait" not denying her offer and walking in. Looking at the vast room available in the house, he followed the little child as he sat on the couch whilst she sat opposite him. "What is your name?" he asked while taking the Comic Magazine out.

"My name is Laurie Juspeczyk" said Laurie as she put the flowers on the table and walked up to his side observing the Comic on his hands. "Is that…Flash?" asked while continuing, "I have read it before, but I prefer Wonder Woman…" she said while speaking about her preferences.

Ezekiel: "Do you know what powers does he have?".

Laurie: "Yes yes, he can run extremely fast and…that's it" she said while thinking and reaching a conclusion, "but, Wonder Woman is better, she is strong, fast and also has a lasso" she said as she once again reached the same place.

Ezekiel: "Is that so…" nodded while learning about the DC characters of the Golden & Silver Age.

The conversation went on, as Laurie talked about her preferences on the comics and how little time she has due to training, though Ezekiel didn't comment on such yet. Until the mother who was bathing relaxingly and came out seemed to have heard his voice from afar, as she ran inside with a shoe in her hands.

"WHO ARE YOU!? LAURIE COME HERE…" she screamed to him as she looked over.

Ezekiel got up, "Hello, my name is Ezekiel Kosmos. I heard my little brother married to you, which is why I came here" he said while putting the Comic on the table, "the last I heard of him was he got married to you after your retirement, but he never told me you had a child with him" he said whilst looking at her as the little child, Laurie, looked at him with a mouth wide open.

Sally: "What…?" asked without knowing what to say, as she never knew her ex-husband had a brother, even less about being more handsome. "That is impossible, he never said anything about you, he didn't even talk about his family" she said while taking her daughter behind her.

"Well, yes…he wasn't very proud of his brother being a solider, and our family wasn't one of much happiness" Ezekiel said without moving as to not startle her. "Would you mind talking over? Or should I come some other day?" he asked, due to knowing his 'brother's nature' wasn't very good.4

"Eh?…no, I am sorry. Please, let's talk over there" she said while calming herself, "Laurie, you go back to your room" she said while sending her daughter back. Without any objection she left, though not before looking at him once again. "Please, come over here. Would you like something to drink or eat?" asked her guest.

Ezekiel: "No, thank you".

Sally: "Could you tell me, why have you come here?" wondered.

Ezekiel: "It is a long story, but in short you could say we aren't completely brothers" he said while using his long lost Oscar Winning acting, "Due to my father having an affair with another woman, I was born. This led to some fights within the house, but due to not wanting to have any problems I was sent to an orphanage and later on entered the carrier of a soldier…just recently I was released, and the last time I heard about my real family I knew he married with you, and nothing else" while putting on a sad face, which felt very weird as he never needed acting to accomplish anything previously as he would just use his powers, though it also showed him the differences on his actions.

Sally: "I-I am sorry, I didn't know…you had so much" she said, "but…I am no longer with your brother. We divorced three years ago".

Ezekiel: "May I know why?".

Sally just silent before speaking the lie, "we had some fights…".

Ezekiel looked at her eyes, as she couldn't help but advert hers and he spoke again, "is it because of her?" he said in a low voice.

Sally turned over as her wide eyes looked at him, "ho-how? No, I mean, no. It's his!" said clenching her fists without being conscious of it.

Ezekiel: "Is that so…" he said slowly after a lengthy silence between both, "although I will not meddle in your choices of actions, would you mind if I visit sometimes as her uncle?" asked knowing the results. After all, from all she knows, this man knows her secret, and even if not this, he has a right to visit the child as her uncle.

Sally: "Yes".

Ezekiel: "Thank you, and do not worry, I will not spread any sort of thing" he said while getting up, "I shall take my leave. I will come to visit more often, give this to her as a gift" he said, handing the Comic Magazine to her. "Take care" as he walked out of the house.

Sally with the book in her hand just looked as Ezekiel left with various thoughts and emotions being experienced.

Looking at the starry sky, Ezekiel walked back to his apartment as he decided to draw the blueprint for the technology necessary for his next action.
