Chapter 99 - Part 1. Restricted Area.

August 1st, 1959. 12:47:36.

Feeling a burning sensation in his face, Ezekiel slowly woke up as he used both arms and supported his body lifting himself up. Removing the sand from his face and clothes, he looked around as he found himself in the desert on an unknown point. In front stood a large waning sign, 'RESTRICTED AREA' while followed down by 'NO TRESPASSING BEYOND THIS POINT'.

Looking around, there was no passer-by, nor any guarding post for the security of the building in front, which is whether showing how confident they are in their power, or just how stupid they are to not see the threat, or probably there is nothing worth there. Observing the high sky where the burning Sun shone directly on him and everywhere around, his body started sweating which hadn't from a long time ago.

Walking the other way to the building, he followed the only road which led someone here as he decided to visit the nearest city to prepare for the upcoming world changing man, God. Ezekiel recognized this was the Desert of Arizona as he previously was in Harry Potter's world, thought never explored it carefully as he had just come to this place for the Thunderbird. As for the building he is currently walking away from, it is the Gila Flat Test Base, the place which gives birth to the being who will be the end of this world's simple trajectory.

This Universe, also famously known as Watchmen, is one of the only comics he has ever read in his previous life as it picked his interest to observe the view which someone had on what real 'heroes' or 'villains' would look like in today's real society, though in the 60's. Though the story develops to show, describe, and reflect what would be the consequences of the existence of such entities in real life, it is also the view of the mindset of these people who act the way they do, and for what they do.

The event of this planet Earth's develops in the age of the 19XX, where the system of the world was still in development and completely different from the year 20XX, where faster development of technology took over the world, changing the worldview with it. Although the fact that 'heroes' exist influenced much of the trajectory of the world, as concepts which didn't exist, or tales which weren't real came to be, creating with it 'villains' as every savior always has his own adversary.

Though the world's crime rate wouldn't be so damaged if this was as simple as having existences of 'heroes' and 'villains', but the fact that there also beings with abilities which break people's common sense already makes it differ, and far away to be portrayed from a 'what if…?' situation of a sole existence with their concepts. This Earth's society presents a world, where the representation of a 'God' is born yet the reality of his views breaks their dėsɨrė of such existence.

A drop of water, yet with the density of a rock, falling in the pool of water causing waves which unintentionally breaks the bridge formed by the ants, similar yet different situation is the 'what if…?' of this Earth.

Removing the sweat rolling down from his forehead to his eyes, Ezekiel observed far away the blurry city as the walk wouldn't take more than an hour or so before he reached to his destination, though some meters ahead the single road divided itself in two which brings the possibility of people passing by to the other side. Rolling his black hair back, he followed walking on the same pace as there was no hurry to reach the destination.

Thinking back to the Gila Flat Test Base, his thoughts wandered around as for the first time the visible future's outcome wasn't completely in his hands. Despite having visited countless worlds, and gained knowledge to rival almost all Universal living organisms, his abilities, knowledge, understanding, views, have yet to be challenged or be questioned by himself as everything is always in simple view and reach for him.

There exist many characters in this world's 'heroes' list which in he will encounter up ahead in the road, whether inevitably or by his choice, though some of these characters' entire reason to become the way they become, may end, or be altered, by happening before or later.

One of those inevitable characters is none other than Dr. Manhattan, though Ezekiel has to see if they shall meet before the accidents happens or if his time does not allow him to do so. His abilities are one of the things which fascinates him the most, as after the 'intrinsic field' disintegrated the whole of him, yet somehow managed to survive in whichever form, only to re-appear, re-form as a being whose abilities expand far beyond, controlling atoms, particles, seeing Time as one…

Although he has experienced the world in which 'Time' became one for him, the difference comes in when Dr. Manhattan says, "We're all puppets, Laurie. I'm just a puppet who can see the strings", as after all, despite being able to see his future, Ezekiel had chosen differently yet there didn't occur the paradox he awaited, instead, the Universe went on as if not caring for his different choice.

The other character which is inevitable to meet, is Adrian Alexander Veidt, or as he later is known for Ozymandias from becoming a hero. This man's grand plan to save the world, yet chained by the ideal he proclaims to be the best method of doing so, which is nothing but peace till the truth comes out. He is in Ezekiel's interest as he wishes to observe what would happen when someone beats down his best trait like nothing.

Finally, stands the man who is said to be have looked into the world's truth of how it really is, Edward Morgan Blake or also known as the famously end's beginning, The Comedian. Although Ezekiel does not present much interest in him, he does in the connections which he has as he is a mercenary, and also government hired, expanding far away.

Getting nearer the city, Ezekiel's formulated plan also formed as he knew which steps to take in order to create the future where Dr. Manhattan cannot change the past even if dėsɨrėd, as in consequence of doing so, his actions would lead the paradox of him not being born, meaning the possibility of a parallel world which is due of the power he has, making such outcome possible. After all, his current advantage apart from his knowledge, is his foreknowledge of this world's trajectory.

Finally, entering inside the city and exploring for the whole day, Ezekiel looked at his surrounding as he noticed this world's darkness reeked more than any world he has seen, or been yet. And, although the people here may be used to such scenes, one cannot completely ignore the dark alleys, where sėxuȧŀ activities are going on in the light of the day, the small robberies of the cheapest things, the fights in the middle of the streets…understanding, many of the point of views of these era's heroes. The dėsɨrė to save where they live. The dėsɨrė to fix things as they should be. The dėsɨrė to bring order to the chaos which seemed to never end…
