630 Sherry

Alex came out of Gacha Palace only to find nobody around him. He searched for Nelson in his surroundings and didn't manage to locate him. 'Nelson must be patrolling around the area.'

As he said earlier, Alex had another job to do. He waved his hand, taking out the scroll he got earlier from the Inventory. 

Fire Authority - Fake Version

The name alone managed to pique his interest. There was so much potential in this technique as it was only a fake version, but the thought about not finding the real one made him hesitate.

"Even if I don't have the real version, I can use this technique to pass by until I reach God Stage. It's still a few years though." Alex shrugged, accepting what he got gratefully.

He opened the scroll and read the first line. It was the technique's name again with the creator's name below it. 

"Phitrus…" Alex muttered his name before recalling a certain person. "Geh. It's him?"

There was only one person with this name that could create a powerful technique like this. He met him in the Phoenix Trial. That's right. The man was none other than the previous Fire God, Phitrus.

Alex blinked his eyes a couple of times, not knowing what to say. "He was a Fire God and created this awesome Pure Fire. I should say as expected of him… To create a powerful technique that could be considered as a UR rank item in his system despite being only a fake. Nonetheless, I should read it now."

'Fire Authority can only be used by someone who has Pure Fire. This technique lets you control the Fire Energy around you and order them around. 

'For example, if I say 'Fire,' then it will create a fire that should have been smaller if I control it in a normal way. By ordering the fire energy around your body, you only need half Spiritual Energy. Isn't this technique good? If you say it's bad, then I don't think there are many good techniques out there.

'This technique will allow you to get twice the result with half an effort. However, the charm of this technique doesn't end here. The real strength of this technique is that 'order' word that I have written earlier.

'Controlling the energy around you can also mean for the enemies too. I can make my enemy kneel just with a single order. Of course, I can only control those who have fire.

'Nonetheless, If you have my Godly Pure Fire, this will increase the effectiveness in controlling the fire. You can try it yourself once you have mastered this technique. Before I start formally explaining everything about this technique, I want to challenge you first. I created this technique using a few thousand years of knowledge and mastered it within a few hundred years. The challenge is to beat my record.

Alex finished reading it and found a small circle that only fit one finger. Phitrus might want him to insert the energy from here and start the challenge. Yet, Alex had no intention of doing that. 

It was true that this technique tempted him very much, but he had several things to do. He wanted to finish the matter in this world first before training this.

"When should I begin the training? The technique itself seems powerful, and the creator is that Fire God. It should have a good premise. Although I don't want to admit it, he might sound so playful, but his technique is strong beyond my imagination." Alex murmured as Pure Fire appeared on his hand.

He raised his hand and looked at the glowing red fire. "This Pure Fire itself is truly one of a kind. If the technique requires such a flame, then it might be very powerful. Seven months… I don't know if this is long or not, but I know I need to succeed in this challenge. The curiosity about the maximum potential of this technique is killing me."

Alex let out a long sigh before tossing the scroll to his Inventory again. He thought if he had this technique, he might be able to fight against the Fire God Clan. Yet, he couldn't be sure since there was still a huge gap. Even if he used this technique, his Spiritual Energy wouldn't last that long.

After finishing the discussion with himself, Alex took out Nelson's card and asked. "Nelson, where are you?"

"I am not far from you, Young Master. I will go back in a minute." Nelson answered.

"Alright." Alex nodded.

In the meantime, he began observing the barrier around. The long four days had sealed all the cracks on the second barrier, healing it to the previous form. However, Alex knew the first barrier was obliterated easily, and the second barrier managed to hold out barely. 

Although he might be in a deep cultivation state while receiving the inheritance, he still felt the energy around him. The suction force from the Gathering Array was big enough for his skin to sense it despite having his mind burned.

In exactly a minute, Nelson arrived in front of him and clasped his hands respectfully. "Young Master. What are we going to do now?"

"First of all, let us remove all the arrays first." Alex smiled.

"Understood." Nelson nodded and disappeared again.

Alex could follow his shadow and fly in the opposite direction. He deactivated the barrier before burning all the symbols. The destroying process would certainly be faster than the creating process. In just a matter of minutes, Alex managed to erase the trace of arrays, including the Gathering Array. 

After that, he regrouped with Nelson to the previous spot.

"I have finished my breakthrough, so we can go to the Undying King and Zekhram. They should have it done, right?" Alex asked.

"I doubt it." Nelson shook his head. "First of all, Zekhram only came to the Undead Race for about two weeks… three weeks if you include the Lightning Tribulation and inheritance time. According to him, he needs a month to finish the process before refining the weapons."

"Well, it's only around one week or so. No big deal." Alex nodded. "We might be able to watch it anyway."

"Yeah. Young Master might know more about Forging even though I have your memory. After all, we might know your memory, but with the sudden influx of memory, we also need to take time to learn everything one by one. That's why I doubt everyone has learned a large portion of your memory. At best, only Mistress Anna and Anya have understood it all."

For Anna and Anya, Alex's memory and knowledge were something worth devouring. The reason was simple. If they didn't know what he was talking about because they lacked knowledge in that area, it would be too sad for Alex. On the other hand, if they learned it and gave some input when Alex asked them, it would be nice. 

"Is that so?" Alex nodded. "Anyway, I'm going to teleport us to the Undead Race before coming back here. You will inform me when they start refining since I want to watch."

"Why are you staying here, Young Master?" 

"I will spare some time with Sherry and the others before cultivating for a while." Alex smiled. 

Nelson fell into silence for a few seconds before nodding. "Understood."

Alex then created a teleportation array and dropped Nelson off in front of the Undead Race. Of course, he had the hammer with him since it was always inside the Inventory. Alex then teleported back to Sherry and the others.

"Master!" Sherry, of course, was very eager to see him. Even though she was cultivating, she didn't enter the deep state cultivation as to wait for him. When she heard the footsteps coming from afar, she opened her eyes and rose from the ground. Yet, unlike her usual action where she ran and hugged him, calmness still filled her face as she walked toward Alex. "Congratulations, Master."

Alex couldn't help but smile when he faced this cute little fox girl. Although he missed her usual child-like action, he preferred this one better. It was kind to Sherry's development. "Sherry…" 

Both were still calm, but the reflex was still there. They came closer and hugged each other while Alex patted her heads… Albeit, he ended up stroking her hair because Sherry was already tall enough to the point he needed a weird pose to pat her in this position.

Kyle and Stina had sensed his presence too but decided to act like they didn't know it. They just wanted to give Alex and Sherry some space.

"Master, let's talk there." She pointed at the huge tree that was used as the portal.

"Sure." Alex nodded.

They walked together and found a perfect spot to sit down. Alex sat and leaned his back to the tree as he looked up.

Sherry came to him and sat on his lap out of reflex. "Ah!"

She only realized that when Alex suddenly patted her head. It looked like he was the same. She then leaned back on his chest, feeling the bliss.

"I could still remember the place where we met. To think that a fox that I almost killed could sit like this with me." Alex chuckled. 

"I-" Sherry didn't know what to say. 

"I am not saying it's a bad thing. In fact, I am grateful to have you as my companion. You have saved me multiple times. That forest where I almost got killed… If you were not with me, protecting me with your lives, I might not be able to reach this place."

"Master too… I had gotten too comfortable and somehow forgot my initial goal. Just like Master helped me evolve, I also wanted to assist you in your journey. I only realized it in that place where we met Kyle. Along the way, I became a burden for you." 

"You are not your burden and never will." Alex shook his head. "I didn't know how many times I almost went insane when I saw you hurt yourself."

"I just did what I needed to do." Sherry shook her head. "Besides, Master will always be the number one in my heart. Whether it is the life and death contract that binds us together, or whatever. I won't care. Nothing would be able to replace Master…"

Sherry paused for a second.

"Master… Am I too greedy to ask this?" Sherry turned around and looked at him with a serious expression. "Can… Can I be the special someone on your side? I don't wish to have the relationship stay this way… I also want to be like Sister Anna, Anya, Firia, and Alicia. I am happy that I can turn into a human and match Master's appearance, but that is not enough. If Master doesn't like my body, I can change it in the next evolution to fit Master's preference. I want-" 

Before she finished her words, Alex already kissed her on the lips, only releasing her lips after a minute. He looked at Sherry with a serious face. "You are always my special someone… My past views have hindered me this long and made you worry. I apologize."

She didn't know why, but she wanted to cry at this moment. The tears slowly formed on the corner of her eyes that would fall if she blinked her eyes once. "Master, can I…"

Alex answered her by kissing her again and proved it to her that she would always be the special someone.
