537 Evelyn

Name:Gacha Sovereign Author:Fixten
Alex didn't lead him to where his spirits were because it was better that way. Even though he knew Manness was Maxwell's friend, it was still not enough to earn his whole trust. The Space Element was alright, since he had figured it out from Maxwell, but even Maxwell had yet to know about the system, so he wanted to keep it a secret from him. Little did he know the 'system girl' had appeared in front of Maxwell long ago.

Manness came out of the blue layered world as soon as Alex opened the portal. He stretched his body, that had been rusty for a few years inside that prison, and turned to Alex.

Before he could say something, Alex already put down Evelyn on the ground and infused his Pure Fire into her veins to burn the remaining aphrodisiac from her body according to his Spirit Eyes. To open the barrier, he needed to cut the jails with his entire power, so he could relate why Evelyn could not escape despite not being chained.

Manness kept his silence, observed Alex's technique, and nodded, knowing Evelyn would be healed with whatever technique he used.

Alex treated her for a few minutes and withdrew his hand from her forehead. Now that they were out, he finally saw Evelyn's figure completely. Her black hair had even reached her waist, her small cute face became a pretty and youthful face, her small innocent mouth had a tinge red, showing she had put on makeup before going out. It could be said that her body already left her sister, Lena, behind.

He only stroked her hair a little bit, thinking that the little girl from the Willow Continent had become a pretty young girl. However, Alex also felt pity for her, as she could deserve more if she pretended not to know him. The moment he thought of that, Evelyn's image flashed on his mind, telling him that she would never achieve this without his help.

After healing her, he rose and looked at Manness with a serious expression. "Though she is a naive little girl, she has many potentials. I hope Senior can take care of her."

Manness checked Evelyn's condition before turning back to Alex. He patted Alex's shoulder. "Although her cultivation foundation is not really that solid, I can solve it with the herb in my possession. I will train her to the best of my ability as her master. Just like what Maxwell said, I would treat my disciple as a treasure.

"In any case, I feel you are a good master yourself, and it's this little girl's good fortune to be taught by you. And from all the things she experiences inside the prison, never once her determination waver. Although I am a few thousand years old Dragon, I have adapted to society today after Maxwell helped me.

"I also have Fire Element, so I will teach her sword and fire to surpass you. Fufu... I am wondering which one would win, Maxwell's disciple or mine... Nah, probably you would win." Manness shrugged.

Suddenly, Evelyn opened her eyes, saw two people beside her with her fuzzy eyes and uttered as hard as she could. "Big brother?"

Alex heard that small voice, turned around, and kneeled down. "How are you? Do you feel any discomfort in your body?"

Besides feeling weak, Evelyn found nothing inside her body while only a few bruises on her skin. "I am sorry to have you helped me once again."

"I said the risk of knowing me a few years ago, and my enemy ambushed you, bullied you, and might even use you against me... No, I should say you were lucky that they were planning to use you against me. If not..." Alex paused, not continuing his sentence.

Evelyn closed her eyes, recalled all memories she had inside the prison, and pictured what would happen to her. The only picture in her mind was about the mysterious man that was talking to her when she was inside. Many moaning sounds always appeared when those people, who beat her, came.

At the same time, she recalled her action earlier, where she hugged Alex and kissed her. If not for the mask, she would already kiss him on the lips. The thought alone made her flush. If she met another male and did that... she did not want to picture it.

Even so, Evelyn grabbed Alex's hand and clenched it as strong as possible, conveying her emotion. She suddenly realized why Alex talked about it now. "No... Big Brother Alex... Evelyn can conceal her identity after this and change her name. I..."

"Oi oi, you almost made this little girl cry." Manness walked toward them and tapped Alex's shoulder. "I know that crying is a little price to pay if that can save this girl's life and future. Still, if you have a wife and your wife want you to forget her so she can save you, do you think you would do that?"

"You are..." Evelyn looked at Manness in amazement as she realized his voice. "You are the man in the prison like me..."

"Yo, little girl. I am Manness from the Heavenly Continent. Actually, I have another option for you if you want to help him." Manness grinned, acting like a salesman.

"Another option?"

"Yeah. Become my disciple and go back with me to the Heavenly Continent. I am sure you can reach the Martial Emperor or even Martial Monarch in a few years there. You might not be able to help him on this continent, but I know you will be able to help him in the Heavenly Continent.

"I can use a sword and my fire, so I am pretty sure I could teach you." Manness paused for a moment, creating a little atmosphere before saying, "Just think about it girl, if you waste your time in this place, knowing fully you can't catch up with his pace, you won't have a single chance anymore. However, if you skip this continent and train in the Heavenly Continent, you can help him there."

Evelyn didn't say yes immediately despite being interested in it. As Alex taught her, it was not good to trust an unknown person unless she knew their strength, background, and identity.

Manness's eyebrows twitched upon seeing this little girl's expression as it was the same expression to what Alex had earlier. He quickly added, "His master is my best friend."

Once again, Evelyn did not answer him. Instead, she just looked at Alex, not knowing what to answer.

"Oi boy, you should help me convince her." Manness tugged Alex's hand and whispered.

Alex simply shrugged his shoulders, looked at Evelyn, and said with a serious expression. "His identity aside, whether you want to go or not is your choice. If you decide to go, remember you need to take care of yourself, don't skip training, and live for yourself."

On the one hand, she was going to follow him and handle a few small things for him. On the other hand, she was afraid not to have the ability to do it herself either. As a puny Martial King or barely Sword King, neither one of them was qualified to help him, and all she could do was bring trouble to him.

'Live for yourself.'

The path had been set.

Evelyn closed her eyes for a moment, thinking about the pros and cons before trying to get up. Unfortunately, her body was too weak to get up, and she could only say, "Disciple Evelyn, greets Master."

"Haha... Don't worry, you are in a good hand. For your information, I am a Martial Saint and a Pavillion Master. In the future, you might even succeed my position in the Pavilion, and if you don't want it, then just give it to someone else and continue your own journey." Manness didn't force her to become his replacement because of Alex. Remembering how Maxwell became a god, Evelyn, who had a better foundation than him, might achieve that as long as she had enough resources.

After pondering for a few seconds, Manness took out a wooden token and handed it to Alex.

"This is a token of my Drunken Pavilion. If you have any trouble on the Heavenly Continent, just go to the Drunken Pavilion, and I will help you out. Well... it's more like a restaurant though. Just ask where the main Drunken Pavilion is if you find the branch, and they would tell my place.

"You can even use this to meet this little girl again. Or maybe, we can be a drinking buddy like your master and me. Your Pure Fire should be enough to endure all of my wines like that Maxwell. Haha..." Manness laughed cheerfully, thinking of the prospect of these two.

"Pure Fire?" Evelyn's body shook in surprise, wondering if she heard it right.

Looking at her expression, Manness furrowed his eyebrows before asking, "Oi boy, you haven't told this little girl about it? Is this bad?"

From a normal perspective, as long as she was under Manness's scope of vision, she should have an opportunity to spread the secret. Besides, Alex knew Evelyn was not someone like that. On the other hand, the next time they met would be on the Heavenly Continent. By that time, Alex might already use his Pure Fire, so he thought there was no point in hiding it anymore.

"It's okay."

On the other hand, Evelyn was still in shock, realizing why she could never catch up. In fact, becoming Manness's disciple might be the only way to catch up.

When she was about to say something, a flash of blue light appeared in the sky even though the dawn had yet to come.

Alex and Manness felt an overbearing pressure from the sky. The clouds spun, creating a giant circle in the sky.

"That direction... Heavenly, no, it should be from Ascension Island." Manness looked at this in amazement. "To think another God has born..."

"God?" Alex furrowed his eyebrows.

"You must have heard it from Maxwell, so I will briefly explain it so the little girl also can learn about it. It's simply the next stage after Martial Saint. People said it was Martial God, but they often shortened it to God.

"According to the rumor, after reaching God Stage, your mortal body will be reconstructed to a divine body. The same applies to your Mental Energy; it becomes Divine Energy. Anyway, there are many terms about it, but in most cases, you just need to add 'Divine' in front of it. I don't know why, but people love to mistify it with the word 'Divine.' Haha..." He laughed for a few seconds before continuing. "After you pass the Divine Tribulation and become God, the world would expel you through Ascension Island within a day.

"What you see right now is the portal to expel you. Take a look at it; a huge light pillar will soon shoot to the sky." Just as Manness said those words, a blue light shot to the sky, blowing away all the clouds around.

Alex activated his Spirit Eyes to see what kind of power was that, but he suddenly fell while screaming. "Argh!"

The energy was too strong for his eyes to handle and quickly pierced his eyes. Although it was only a split second, he could see a little trace of Teleportation Array. He was convinced that the formation only expelled him/her outside the world, which was a vacuum space.

"Are you okay?"

"Big Brother?"

"I'm fine." Alex waved his hand before slowly rising from the ground with red eyes.

"In any case, if you aim like your teacher, one day you will also have a show like that. I won't tell you more before you reach Martial Saint. Anyway, we have talked about everything, so I am going to bring this little girl away." Manness waved his hand, carrying Evelyn with his energy. "See you later, boy."

"Big Brother... Evelyn will become stronger!" Evelyn looked at him with anguish but filled with determination.

Alex smiled as his response, waving his hand to her as he watched them flying away before clasping his hand and sending a thought transmission to Manness, "Please take care of her better than me, Senior."

Evelyn was too preoccupied with Alex, but a smile appeared in Manness's face.
