535 Rescuing Evelyn

"Alright." Alex nodded and began looking at Jeanne and Leoz.

Normally, Jeanne would be so hyped in this matter, but when Alex searched for her, she was nowhere to be seen. He activated his Spirit Eyes and shook his head helplessly. It turned out the previous matter still bothered her to the point she needed to hide behind Greg.

He did not really know how she felt, but she would most likely have the same feeling as him from back when Alicia was poisoned. Because he was useless, she almost died. At that time, he was full of guilt. For Jeanne, who was loyal to him, it should be close to that.

"Leoz, come with me." Alex pulled out Leoz's card and recalled him back. Although he wanted to fix Jeanne's matter, it was not reasonable to bring someone who got too emotional.

He made around twenty array papers and felt it was enough. Considering he made an Extended World Array for his barrier, planted his Space Element and Soul inside, and threw one million Spirit Gems, this giant array formation would surely trap them to the end of the battle. After all, even he was not sure he could break the barrier with brute force with that many Spirit Gems.

Of course, they could focus their attacks on a single point, and that was why he made more array plates than needed.

Two days passed in an instant,

Alex waited for the night to come while Noel was waiting beside him. Previously, he had thought about using the normal way according to Noel's direction. Alex used the same scale to have Noel led him toward the prison. It only took them a few minutes to arrive, but he noticed something unusual in the prison wall.

"Meow?" Noel could not see through the blue-layered wall, so she was confused about why Alex stopped abruptly.

Alex did not hear her as he was too focused on the wall. He placed his hand on the wall and could not go through. "As expected, this wall is protected by space energy. It most likely comes from an array, and I need around one or two hours to remove the space energy without alarming them."

Alex finally noticed her and turned his head. "Ah, sorry. I am a bit too absorbed. Anyway, you go in first to check her condition."

Noel nodded and left the blue colored realm after Alex opened a gate.

"Though it's slightly different, but..." Alex furrowed his eyebrows, noticing something wrong with the energy. "It should affect a woman, but... this mild color..."

No answer came since he lacked information. He could only enter the prison and checked the characteristic of this poison himself as he believed he could decipher it with his knowledge.

"Fu. Anyway, I can only start working on this array and spatial energy..." Alex sighed, raised his hand, and began feeling the array with his Spiritual Energy.

The prison itself was a colossal building, close to a military barracks with a man and a woman statues in the front and back. With his Spirit Eyes, he could see around thirty people inside the prison before finding more in the underground. Although he did not know Evelyn's exact position, he could easily locate her by finding Noel's Spiritual Energy.

One thing that confused him. The fact that there were a few floors underground with each of them filled with a different kind of energy made by Alex frown. He found Noel on the lowest floor with concentrated pink energy.

According to the information, Evelyn had no other injury or sign of being poisoned except for a few beatings. This was why the energy baffled him as he did not know the purpose behind it. Therefore, he decided to observe the energy first before rescuing Evelyn.

However, be it the pink energy, or rescuing Evelyn, it was useless if he could not go through this barrier. Unlike Noel, he could not sneak past the guard even with his Space Element while risking the potential of being found out.

Time and speed would be Alex's main concern as he needed to go outside the space realm and fixed it before anyone could notice him. Before altering the array, he created an illusion array, especially the illusion array that he used for his special realm. All the people could only see nothing.

He took a few symbols and altered it before planting his own symbols inside the array. The symbol he planted had a suction force, absorbing the space energy nearby. One symbol was not fast enough to suck all the space energy before dawn, so Alex made a few more symbols in different areas to optimize the suction force.

After planting around six symbols, the only thing he could do was wait. He did not make the symbol on one side of the building to become his door. Although the symbols could concentrate the space energy around, it only reinforced the wall in a certain area.

With one side not having a single trace of space element, he tweaked the array a little bit and walked through the wall with his Spatial Gate.

Alex chose an empty corridor to enter and activated his Pure Fire. He did not release its overbearing pressure, and would only use its special characteristic to protect him from the pink energy.

"What is this energy?" Alex muttered to himself, looked at the transparent miasma, and smelled it. According to all the characteristics, he found a few things that could define this energy, but most of them were aphrodisiacs. He focused his Spirit Eyes on all people around.

It turned out all of them to be women. Seeing no one had been affected by the energy, he narrowed the options into two medicines. The first aphrodisiac was called Pink Reed Powder. Just like its name, it originated from a pink bamboo. The bamboo would release a certain invisible miasma that had aphrodisiac effect. This would dormant inside someone's body until they met the opposite gender. They would become a hungry sex predator.

The second medicine was called Prosperous Body Miasma. The miasma itself was transparent and one without a smell. It originated from a certain tree, and if one burned the tree, it would create this miasma. It almost had the same effect, but this miasma would make one hallucinate.

Alex did not know which one until he saw Evelyn. If it were the first type, he would need to knock her out before healing her with his Pure Fire. If it were the second type, he would need to take her away first before asking her to fight the poison herself. After all, this medicine was like an injection, and would certainly consume her will. He could burn the one that affected her, but the moment she chose to drown inside the hallucination, it was over.

He made his way toward the second level and found a different type of energy. He noticed that it had a similar aphrodisiac effect but only affected males. The moment he figured that out, he found that the inhabitants in this prison were males. Luckily, he had his Pure Fire and prevented any of this medicine to affect his mind.

Alex had no intention of bringing all these people out as he was not a hero, and the potential of his plan being found out sealed the deal. He swiftly flew toward the third, fourth, and fifth floor to where Evelyn was at.

The fifth floor was filled with pink energy, a few times more concentrated than the other floors. Looking at how dense the energy was, Alex did not immediately rescue Evelyn. Instead, he looked around to see the cause of it.

In the corner of the room stood a few pink colored bamboos.

As soon as he found the cause, Alex took out his sword and cut them into pieces. He burned all traces coming from the bamboo, so it could not produce more energy.

"To think it's pink bamboo... Well, I can't complain since it is easier to solve than the other one."

Alex walked toward Evelyn's cell and looked at the pitiful Evelyn. Her white leaves embroidered dress was a bit worn, and there were even a few ripped parts. Her face and body had a trace of bruises while her messy hair loose flowed down her back. Even so, her eyes were still clear. Despite the beating she got, she certainly knew it was her own fault.

A few years ago, Evelyn had decided to keep her relationship with Alex, despite not needing his teaching anymore. Even after knowing the risk, she still preserved that ambition as she felt indebted to him.

She had prepared for death the moment she set upon this continent, albeit before she could do anything, she was ambushed by unknown people and taken to this place.

Her only regret was that she should have planned her departure more carefully as not to give a problem to Alex. Just as he thought about that, she heard a cat's sound.

"Meow!"

Evelyn raised her head, found the cat and someone's feet. She thought it was the time for another beating, but she suddenly heard a familiar voice.

"Ya. Are you still kicking?"
