13 Thirteen: Her Gullible Sister

[]

"Where were youuuuuuuu?? Why didn't you take me with you?"

"They were your friends, you should have stayed with them, so I left"

"Where did you go though? I didn't see you when I reached home yesterday"

"I was just with Liu Shan"

Shao Liling saw Liqin's annoyed face as she quickly tried hiding it.

"Hey sis, do you want some advice about dating? Maybe I can give you some tips!"

"Nah, I'm not really in the mood for anything right now, I am kinda tired, just let me rest for a while"

Shao Liling fell on her bed as she spoke the last sentence, she was really tired from playing video games till late, plus pillow fighting with Liu Shan exhausted her.

She was about to go to dreamland but then she heard Shao Liqin say,

"Oh, never mind , I just wanted to tell you that your future boyfriend may become jealous from all the interactions you have with Liu Shan-ge, plus you're really tomboyish, it doesn't suit your appearance"

All the words that came out were true, but it was that the words came out a bit nicer than what Shao Liqin wanted to say, but she did got the message over to Shao Liling. She meant Shao Liling should wear more dresses and make up. And distance herself from her best friend since childhood, Liu Shan and hang out with girls around her age.

Shao Liling was smart, she got the intentions of Shao Liqin through the way her speech was spoken. She never fooled her, how could Shao Liqin be so gullible? Shao Liling just acted gullible, she had already learned the truth about her spouting bad things behind her back, and was trying to get Liu Shan for herself.

She knew they both had feelings towards each other, but Shao Liling was disappointed when she learned about the posts on Weibo about her, nothing else than spouting insults about her, by her own younger sister.

She ignored Shao Liqin as she left her bedroom, and opened her eyes, staring at the ceiling and rethinking about all the things she did for Liqin.

She had experienced being backstabbed before, it wasn't much she felt then, and definitely not now either. Shao Liling always wondered about Liqin who was overly nice to her and never had any fights or arguments with her. Who knew it was a mask all along? She just wanted Liling to dress overly girly so that Liu Shan wouldn't want to hang out with her anymore.

Her plan backfired though , when she saw Liu Shan checking out Shao Liling at the hotel. She was jealous inside and was reluctant to speak with Liling.

It wasn't much of a surprise, Shao Liling always thought Shao Liqin was a bit over the top with her acting and her real motives were to make Liu Shan distance himself from Liling, and take all of him for herself.

She wouldn't have minded if both of them started dating, but Shao Liqin's idiotic thoughts make that seem a bit hesitant. Liu Shan was never the type to avoid people for stupid reasons, such as his friend wearing too much makeup and too little clothing? Obviously a big, fat, 'no'. He respected his friends choices, he wouldn't even try to oppose to any ideas for his friends to change themselves.

'Yup, nothing but a big mistake'

Shao Liling thought at last as her eyes slowly closed itself and drifted to off to sleep.

"Jeez! I lost again!"

"Whaaaat!?!??"

Liu Shan was bit over the top about his loses, but he knew how important they were for him, if he didn't win at least two rounds from all the five rounds, he wouldn't be labeled as a pro, and that was what he wanted, he wanted his friends to know that he was amazing in everything, well, except, for studying of course. Especially to Shao Liling, who was perfect in everyone's opinion, he wanted to beat her in a childish way but that's how both of them had been since they were small.

He grinned to himself as he imagined the look on her face when she finds out that Liu Shan had already done all the tasks of 'World Domination:3' and had only one left, which was extremely difficult.

Liu Shan thought he would look cool in front of her as he did it in record time, he glanced towards the mirror of the open bathroom door as he saw a boy, pale skin with dark circles below his dead eyes, looking overly malnourished with his small, sickly jaw open with hollow cheeks.

He was disappointed, he would have try to make his skin look better and eat more, and by the latter thought, he's empty stomach grumbled. He realised he hadn't had anything since he reached home from school.

Liu Shan quickly went down the stairs like a cat, with weightless and silent steps reaching the gigantic refrigerator in the corner of the kitchen, he opened it and saw some kimchi there, cold but he didn't mind and just carried it in a bowl, heading towards his bedroom.

As he walked, he thought it would be silent, since it was nearly one in the morning, he quietly crept up the stairs, he didn't wanted anyone to hear his footsteps and think an intruder has come.

Liu Shan was almost there to his bedroom but he heard something from his dad's room, he listened patiently to see if he was sleeping or not, hiding behind a desk as he saw some light coming from through the door from Liu Zheng's bedroom.

"NO, do not do anything I didn't ask you too. If you don't want to do what I say, just quit, we don't need incompetent people like you working under me"

'Seems like business talk',

He was casually about to go but the next sentence made him stop,

"Liu shan doesn't know, and I hope you don't leave any clear evidence behind, got it? I might not know what might happen to you if you don't finish this simple task, I will not let him enter my office, you just have to clean it thoroughly"

"What's dad talking about?"

He wondered out aloud and soon realised his mistake as a shadow took over his frame.
