Chapter 126 - The Shocking Question

"This is for you. We have to warm up so we don't catch a cold." Sarah held out a drink to Jonathan who was sitting with his palms on his thighs.

He took the drink from Sarah's hand.

"Are they teasing you?" Jonathan asked in the direction of the tavern.

Sarah shook her head.

"No, he gave me advice on getting cleaned up and buying a change of clothes," Sarah said honestly. "It turns out that not all humans in this world are evil." She muttered.

Jonathan held the drink with both palms, feeling the warmth of the drink that made his heart a little warm, he turned and looked at his daughter's face carefully.

"You are growing well and beautiful."

Jonathan's compliment was like a heavy blow to Sarah's chest, she took a deep breath, swinging her legs, she removed her high heels and folded legs on the chair, maybe to feel warmer.

"I didn't grow up well, dad. I didn't grow up well," she repeated words with a different intonation.

Jonathan doesn't know what else to say, when was the last time he left Sarah, it seems that since he received the project from Broto, the point where he felt his life would change beautifully, the point where he felt a lot of changes in his life, but the reality was not always as expected, that's his breaking point.

"Dad..." Sarah opened her mouth again, this time with a smile, she took a careful sip of her drink, then looked at Jonathan's changed face.

"Let's go to your house, I can borrow your clothes." She said with a feigned cheerful face, she forced a smile. She was holding back tears at this moment, she didn't want tourists passing by to watch his tears and the sorrowful expression.

Jonathan was silent to see Sarah who got up from the chair, he saw that his daughter was already very tall, maybe their height was not far away. he could see the fake smile on Sarah's face, though his daughter pretended to be cheerful, Jonathan could feel the heavy burden Sarah was carrying.

Sarah stepped in but she didn't find her father following. She turned her head and furrowed her brows. She didn't want to walk alone like this all-time she passed by.

"Dad, let's get out of here, or we'll get rained on again!" She slightly shouted in a spoiled tone.

Jonathan raised his hands nervously then he pulled a faint smile. "Sarah, dad doesn't have a home," said Jonathan.

Sarah fell silent hearing Jonathan's words. She looked at his father's shabby appearance, why did she just realize, where had she been since earlier.

"Dad..." her voice trembled, she fell with her legs bent at the end of her father's knees.

"How did you live? How is your life all this time? Did You take care of your health, do you eat well, dad..." her tears were unstoppable, she was crying on her father's knees.

"Why are you making things difficult for yourself, you can't be like this!" she continued to cry until her chest constricted until her tears continued to spill uncontrollably until her snot merged with the tears.

"You can't hurt yourself, dad, you have to be strong, you have to live, you have to-- sob!" Sarah's shoulders shook. She couldn't say a single word anymore.

They were the center of attention of a few passing tourists, but who cared?

A deep longing, love without reason, that's how a child loves her father even though she has been abandoned for a long time.

Jonathan couldn't say a word, he couldn't even raise his hand. He could only hold back the clear spark that welled up in his eyelids, those eyes were bloodshot, he couldn't cry anymore but he couldn't possibly hold back all the longing that swelled up in his heart.

-- Sarah, forgive your cowardly father!

"Dad, it's not all your fault, you're not a criminal, you don't need to hide from this world, you don't deserve to suffer, dad! you have to wake up, you have to get up… sob… dad, I'm still here, I'm always here for you, please don't ignore me, don't leave me again, I'll be with you forever." Her voice stuttered, interrupted by the stifling hiccups in the throat.

"Sarah, I don't want to be a burden to you, I don't want to be a pain for you, you have to live your life well. I saw you grow up well, you look very beautiful and classy." Jonathan said, he got up from the chair, left his drink, he couldn't accept Sarah's offer, he intended once again, to leave his daughter.

Bruck!

Sarah threw the drink Jonathan had left on her father's back, making Jonathan's wet shirt even more soaking and warm.

Jonathan turned around, he could see Sarah's anger as he had seen in the past, the same anger as Michelle.

Sarah inherited that selfishness.

"What are you saying! Is it by leaving me to a crazy woman and you can roam in peace in this world! do you think living in an apartment with a woman who is addicted to alcohol and a geek makes me live a peaceful life!" Sarah's voice rose.

"You created hell on earth for me!" Sarah's screams were so hysterical that the passersby stopped, they were whispering and gossiping.

What are they doing?

Is that her lover?

I don't think so, the man looks old and poor.

Did the man seduce her?

Geez, should we call the police?

When Sarah heard the rumors, she turned and gave a death stare at the people who were watching her and her father.

"What are you guys watching!" She hissed angrily.

the tourists disperse, but there was one who didn't leave, he instead steps closer, he was a man, he steps from beside Sarah.

"You! What are you doing, watching us! You think this is a show that--" When Sarah turned her head, she was taken aback.

That man was Andrew. he took off his long coat, and put it on Sarah's shoulders.

Sarah had a straight face. "I don't need your pity." Hissed her.

"Do I look that pathetic?" Sarah asked Andrew, but the handsome doctor didn't answer.

Andrew turned to Jonathan.

"Sir, do you have time, may we talk?" He asked politely and gently.

"You guys look great together and full of love. Are you and Sarah getting married?" Asked Jonathan.

"Hah!!" Sarah and Andrew were stunned.
