Chapter 108 - The Familiar Face

Nothing specific Jonatan knows, his role as a husband has just begun, so far he has only acted as a father, with flexible working hours he can accompany his daughter to school, do schoolwork, play in the park and even attend art performances at her daughter's school, even though most of the students who came were female guardians, it seemed that Jonathan was the only non at every school event for his daughter.

That was before when he was busy with his work, it doesn't know, it seems like work has become the standard of life today, it feels so honorable to get a good job and earn a lot of money

Sarah's most awaited thing was that on weekends, she will be waiting behind her white curtained bedroom window, she will peek with hopeful eyes.

"Sarah! What are you doing? Since the morning you've always been like that, go to the supermarket, buy me some painkillers!" Michele asked her daughter.

Sarah immediately got off the chair, where she sat by the window, waiting for her father to come home.

"Mom, you are already home?" Sarah asked.

"What's with your question? I already told you if you are afraid to sleep alone at home you can call your aunt, she is more than happy to accompany you rather than sleeping in her cramped boarding room," said Michelle fiercely.

"It's not like that Mom, I just want to know, when will you get home?" Sarah asked with a straight face. She doesn't care about her mother anymore, it's up to Michelle to go home or not, she's used to sleeping alone in their house.

"Mom has a lot of unfinished work so I have to take time over." Michelle lied.

Sarah could only remain silent with a sullen face, she took the money from her desk drawer and left Michele.

"Buy me porridge too, you also buy your breakfast, how long will you eat instant noodles!" shouted Michele behind Sarah's back as her daughter ran out of the house.

She was used to going out for snacks, just buying snacks, ready-to-eat food, or buying necessities at the supermarket, don't underestimate a five-year-old child, Sarah was demanded to be an adult before her time.

"Why isn't dad home yet.." Sarah hissed with a disappointed face. She missed her father very much.

Her father, all this time used to be unemployed, made Michele scream all the time in the house, made Michele uncomfortable at home, but for Sarah, Jonathan was a good father, a warm father who cared about her.

Jonathan would cook her breakfast, make her milk, carry her to bed and read her fairy tales, but all that had disappeared in the last few months.

Sarah was a strong little girl, she won't cry, yeah.. she won't cry, she just wipes the corners of her wet eyes.

-- who made the rules that a father had to work? Sarah whispered in disappointment.

Jonathan forgot that his little girl was impatiently waiting for his return home, just like him now, he was also waiting for someone to come out of the cafe.

Jonathan glanced at his watch, he asked the cafe guard what time the morning shift ended, and the guard said four in the afternoon.

and it's four o'clock in the afternoon.

He paced in the parking lot not far from his parked jeep. His hands were clenched into fists and his face looked a little tense and nervous.

"Ah, why am I like this!" he was talking to himself, he seemed to be aware of his strange behavior too, he was like a teenage boy who fell in love when he found out who his first love was.

The faster the clock ticked, the hotter Jonathan's body and soul became. He looked increasingly panicked and worried.

when he saw the face he had been waiting for a long time, his heart seemed to skip a beat for a while, he tried to massage his chest to calm down but it seemed useless, he was still excited to see Selena's face in front of him

Yes, Selena, the cafe waitress who looks beautiful, charming, and friendly. But not this time. After leaving a greeting to the cafe guard with a big smile, Selena's facial expression immediately turned contrast as soon as she found the face of the man with a smile in front of her. She looked away, ignoring Jonathan present, she put on a sneer.

Jonathan's feelings are getting worse.

-- ah, just as I thought, she looks very angry and disappointed.

Jonathan was getting more and more flustered, but he had been waiting here for almost an hour. The struggle should not be in vain.

he trotted over to Selena who was getting ready to go home.

"Good afternoon. Mm, I know you must be upset with me, but I came here to apologize to you." While scratching his head which wasn't itchy, Jonathan tried to balance Selena's fast pace.

Selena ignored Jonathan's words, she even accelerated her pace.

"Ah, I'm so sorry for breaking the promise I made myself, I know you must be disappointed with me, I want to apologize to you, I--" Selena didn't listen to Jonathan's words.

She was busy replying to text messages on her cellphone. She was ordering an online motorcycle taxi to go home.

"You can say that I'm a bad guy, but I'm not that kind of guy, I didn't come yesterday for a reason, I beg you to listen to my reasons first."

Selena was still indifferent, looking happy to see a motorcycle that will take her away from here. She blocked the motorcycle.

Jonathan was surprised to see a motorcycle driver stopped right in front of them.

"Is your name Selena?" Asked the motorcycle taxi driver to Selena.

Selena nodded her head, she matched the online motorcycle taxi application on her cellphone, "Yes, I'm Selena, let's get out of here, sir."

Selena asked for a helmet and prepared to leave a gaping Jonathan.

"You should have listened to my reasons first," Jonathan whispered with pleading eyes but Selena wasn't a woman who gave up easily.

Jonathan had to let Selena go on a motorbike, he couldn't help but hiss in his heart.

"I should be able to drive you home in my car." He told himself with a sad face.

-- this is not the end, this is just the beginning, doesn't love need struggle and sacrifice? Jonathan hoped in his heart.

Doesn't love to require sacrifice? Sarah was still patiently waiting for her father to come home.

At the port.

Vira looks very amazed by the ship that her husband was pointing at.

"Come on, I'll take you to see the moon in the middle of the ocean tonight." Invite Vino while holding out his hand. He guided his wife to board the ship.

"Are you sure? Do you have a license to ride a ship? What if this ship sinks and is carried away by the waves? Wouldn't it be dangerous?"

Vino shook his head. "Don't be afraid, this isn't the first time I've brought my boat, I've been studying for a long time, even since I was a teenager." Vino tried to calm his wife's tense face.

"But this is the first time you've taken me, and the first time I've been on a boat, I'm scared!" Vira said doubtfully.

"Do you still not trust your husband?" Vino's question sounded like a trap.

"Ish, are you kidding me?" Replied Vira.

Vino shook his head. "Come on baby, trust your handsome husband, you won't regret it." He coaxed with a seductive wink.

"Ah, I'm going crazy for a long time being your wife. Earlier I was forced to eat raw oysters, and now getting on a boat at night and being alone with you, are you planning a honeymoon or are you giving me a challenge?"

"Hahaha.. you seem to have a sixth sense, you can guess my thoughts," Vino said with a meaningful look in his eyes.

"What do those eyes mean? Have you prepared another challenge on this ship?" Vira highlighted the white ship with large writing on the hull, the writing made it clear that everything here belonged to Broto.

"Wow, this ship is very luxurious!" Vira said amazed.

Vino waved his hand towards the stern, when his wife turned and realized there were boat crew members, her tense face turned a little more relieved.

"You lied to me!" Hissed Vira pinched her husband's arm.

Vino chuckled while landing a brief kiss on his wife's forehead, carrying his wife's waist, pulling her closer to his body.

"Come on, let's go in and take a rest," Vino said while hugging his wife tightly.

Before Vino and Vira entered a room that had been prepared, the captain of the ship looked at Vira with strange eyes.

"Miss, have you been to this island before?" he asked with a strange-looking expression on his face.

"Yes?" Vira asked not to understand the skipper's question to her.

"What's the matter, sir?" Vino also asked.

"Ah, sorry sir and madam, I feel very familiar with this lady's face," said the captain with a reluctant expression.

"This is the first time she has visited this island, you may be mistaken," said Vino.

The captain nodded his head. "You're right, it's just that your face looks a lot like hers." He whispered with a confused face.

"With her? With whom?" Vira was curious.
