Chapter 202 - A Grandfather's Warning

~ At Mr. M's Residence ~

Mr. M was at home when he received an important visitor. He didn't expect that his grandfather would come unannounced.

"Grandpa, why didn't you call me? I should have prepared something for you."

Mr. M looked different when he was talking to his grandfather. He was polite and respectful, very far from his natural cold demeanor.

"It's alright. I'm not going to stay here long," His grandpa nonchalantly said before sitting on the sofa.

Just like Mr. M, his grandfather looked powerful and intimidating. He seldom smiles. He was stricter than Mr. M himself. He was a disciplinarian.

Mr. M's grandfather was a mysterious man. He was running their company and organization in the shadows. He was not appearing in different social gatherings. He would just send his representative on his behalf.

He was very meticulous as well. Aside from running legal companies, he was also a leader of an underground syndicate, a mafia. He worked hard to get his current position now.

He was the one who taught Mr. M everything. He raised him well to be a capable leader of their family. He would retire soon and his only grandson would be the heir and become the head of his empire.

Mr. M asked one of the maids to prepare tea for his grandfather.

"How are things going on your part?" His grandfather asked him with a serious expression on his face.

"We are on the right track, grandpa. Don't worry about me. I can handle everything," Mr. M reassured him.

His grandfather simply nodded his head. It did not take long when the maid came back holding a cup of tea.

The old man took a sip, before saying another word.

"Stop playing around with women, Dylan."

Mr. M was taken aback when he heard that. He could tell his grandfather was serious. He even called his real name, Dylan.

"A woman might become your weakness. I don't want that to happen."

Mr. M was still speechless. He knew it. Though his grandfather was allowing him to do his own plan, he was still watching him from the sideline.

But he was confused about who the woman his grandfather was referring to. Was it Micaela or Samantha?

This only showed that his grandfather was aware of his affair with those two women.

"Grandpa, you don't have to worry. Micaela is being obedient. She is very helpful in implementing our plan."

His grandfather raised his eyebrow. "I know Micaela can do her part. I'm not worried about her."

"But this Samantha. I am wondering why are you hanging around with that woman? What benefits can you get from her? Don't tell me you are already falling for her?"

Mr. M could hear the displeasure in his grandfather's voice. Was this the reason he visited him today? Just to remind him and give him a warning about his relationship with Samantha?

"I know, grandpa. Samantha is nothing. I'm just using her. She is close to Renz Chou and Selene Anderson. I can get useful information from her," Mr. M said, justifying his actions of getting closer to Samantha.

"Good to hear that. But I don't think you still need to do that. Getting information from them is Micaela's task. She befriended Selene for that purpose. So you should stop seeing that girl, Samantha."

Mr. M clenched his fists. He was unhappy about this but he tried to conceal his emotions.

"I am afraid to tell you but Micaela's spying is not as effective as before. Selene is becoming distant from her. She is opening up more to Samantha, not Micaela."

The strict old man just knitted his eyebrows into a frown. He was assessing his grandson's expression.

'Is that the only reason he is keeping that girl by his side? Or is there something more to it?' His grandfather pondered to himself.

But he still trusted his grandson. There was no reason for him to be suspicious of him. As long as he was still hell-bent on getting revenge against those two families.

"Okay. I will not argue with you on this matter. But if that girl will cause you a problem, I am telling you now… I will not hesitate to eliminate her."

Mr. M hid his emotions very well. He just smiled at his grandfather while nodding his head.

"Sure, grandfather. I understand. You can do anything you want. I will not stop you. I know you are just thinking about my well-being."

"Rest assured, I will not give you any trouble," Mr. M added.

"Good, grandson. I will have your word."

"By the way, are you free this weekend?" His grandpa asked him, changing the topic.

"I can free up my schedule for you. Is there something you want me to do this weekend?"

"Yes. I want you to come with me. I will formally introduce you to the higher-ups," his grandpa said, referring to the other members of his organization.

"Sure, grandpa. I will go with you."

After hearing his affirmation of coming with him, the old man stood up, saying goodbye to him.

"I should go now. There are things I need to do by today. I will just message you the exact time and place where to meet."

"Got it, grandpa."

His grandpa turned around to leave only to stop on his track and told him one more thing.

"Don't forget what I've told you. If something goes wrong, that girl will disappear without a trace."

The old man stepped forward without waiting for Mr. M's response.

Mr. M, on the other hand, just watched his grandfather's back until he vanished from his sight. He had complicated emotions right now.

He didn't know if he should be glad or not after hearing those words from his grandpa. If he was only using Samantha for his own benefits, then he should not feel affected even if his grandfather would do something to hurt her.

He couldn't understand why he was feeling bothered by this. Now, he felt the urge to see Samantha.
