Chapter 162 - Micaela's Past

The taxi cab stopped at the entrance of the memorial cemetery. Micaela stepped out of the car holding the flower.

Azrael followed her until she stopped in front of a tombstone.

Micaela bent down to place the flower on top of the tomb. She smiled faintly while touching the carved words.

[ In Loving Memory of Carla and Justine Go ]

"Mom, Dad, just wait a little bit. We will soon get justice. It is just a matter of time and I will be able to avenge your death."

Micaela started talking, her eyes filled with rage, sorrow, and regret.

"Mom, Dad, don't worry about me. I can handle everything. Your daughter had become strong and independent," Micaela said as she continued speaking as if her parents were there listening to her.

It did not take long when Micaela began shedding tears.

"I will fulfill my promise. The people who caused your death will pay for what they have done to our family. I will not let them become happy. They don't deserve it."

Micaela clenched her fists as memories of the past came flashing into her mind.

10 years ago, she held her mother's and father's lifeless bodies in her arms. She was only 9 years old at that time.

That was the most painful, traumatic, and frightening moment of her life… watching her parents die as she was left behind, all ALONE.

They were once a happy family but in just a blink of an eye, her life became a nightmare. That nightmare happened because of the Chuo Family and Anderson Family.

She had sworn to her parents' grave that she would avenge them. Now she was slowly taking her revenge.

She would do her best to take everything from them. That was her only motivation to strive hard and survive this harsh world.

She was sent to an orphanage. Three years after her parents died, a middle-aged man took her from that orphanage. She was already 13 years old back then.

In her young mind, he told her everything… the reason why her parents died, the reason why a princess like her suddenly became a poor orphan.

Micaela's family was once a wealthy family. They had their own company. But because of Anderson and Chou, their company went bankrupt. And that was the start of her nightmare… the start of her misery. She lost everything.

The middle-aged man was the one who helped her persevere. He became her guardian. He encouraged her to be strong and fierce.

He instilled in her the importance of her revenge. He prepared her for this. It was her driving force to continue living even though her parents were already gone.

After graduating high school, she met Mr. M. Just like her, Mr. M also had a grudge against those two families. They teamed up to get their revenge.

But she didn't know his real story. He didn't talk much about it. Mr. M, on the other hand, knew her story. He knew everything about her and her family.

He was using that hatred so that Micaela would not waver. She started to like Selene for real after knowing that she was also an orphan. She cared about her since both of them lost their parents at a very young age.

But her mind would not change. She would still continue her revenge and get justice for her parents' death.

Selene was just a friend. Well, their relationship was not genuine at the start. She just approached her as part of their plan. She was just using her for her revenge.

It was just unfortunate that they met under this circumstance. If it was a different life and different situation, maybe she would really treat Selene as her real friend.

"Mom, Dad… I promise that I will take back what we lost before. I will show them how harsh this life can be after losing the most precious thing from them."

"I will give them the taste of suffering. I will not stop until I succeed. So don't worry, Mom and Dad. You can be happy wherever you are now."

Micaela touched the tombstone of her parents. She smiled at them, reassuring them that she could do it for her parents.

'I will no longer feel guilty or sorry for Selene. I don't care anymore if she will be hurt in the end. My parents are more important than her,' Micaela thought to herself.

Azrael was just listening to Micaela. He could feel the hatred in her heart. Now, he understood that Micaela was up to something.

She wanted to get revenge but he never heard who her targets were.

'So she is doing some kind of revenge for her parents. What happened in the past? Is she referring to Selene? Is this the reason why she betrayed her best friend?' Azrael marveled at that thought.

He looked down to see the tombstone.

"Carla and Justine Go are her parents. I wondered what was the cause of their death." Azrael mumbled to himself.

He was still thinking about what to do next when Micaela finally said goodbye to her parents. She turned around and left.

Azrael continued following her. Now he became more curious about what Micaela was planning. What was she plotting this time?

"I don't know if this is a bad thing or not but I am certain that no matter what Micaela will do, the dark soul will try to protect Selene."

Speaking of the dark soul, there was no sign of him anywhere. It looked like he would not appear in front of Micaela today so she will just be fine.

"Where is the dark soul right now?"

Meanwhile, the dark soul was back in his hiding place. He possessed a human body to hide himself from the grim reapers. He was lucky that he was able to escape last night.

"I didn't mean to hurt the white angel. But I had no choice. Grim reapers should not catch me. I still have things to do here. I will protect Selene, not allowing someone to hurt her again," the dark soul said with conviction.

"I have to go back to the Netherworld without being noticed by the grim reapers. I have to get that thing!"
