Chapter 44 - Samantha's Fate

During the meal, Selene and Samantha had the chance to talk about themselves. Samantha didn't waste this opportunity to get to know her.

"Selene, I heard you are already in the last year of your college. What course are you taking?"

"Business Administration. I will assist Renz in managing the company once I graduate," Selene answered her.

Samantha nodded her head. It made sense since the company of the Anderson Family was already merged with Chou Empire. As the only heiress of Lockhart Enterprise, Selene had the responsibility to assist Renz.

"If you don't mind, may I ask you how old are you now?" Samantha whispered to Selene.

"I'm 24," Selene told Samantha her current age before she died. She forgot about it.

"Eh, are you sure about that? You look so young!" Samantha gasped in surprise when she heard Selene's response.

Eros who could hear their conversation facepalmed because of Selene's honest mistake. She forgot that her current age in this lifetime was 19.

Selene had just realized her mistake so she immediately added the word. "Joke!"

"I will be 24 five years from now! I'm 19," Selene said, correcting herself.

Samantha giggled. She didn't expect that Selene was very fun to talk to.

"By the way, I'm also 19 years old… five years ago! So I'm the one who is 24 years old."

The two girls started laughing because of that. Meghan looked daggers at them. She didn't like that Samantha was acting very friendly towards Selene.

"So what is your chosen career, Samantha? Are you also a businesswoman?" Selene asked her curiously.

Samantha pouted at Selene.

"Seriously? You don't know? Damn! I thought I was popular in the City of Sierra. How come there is a single soul here who doesn't know me?" Samantha said dramatically while putting on a pitiful face.

Selene smiled sheepishly and apologized to her right away. She didn't mean to make her upset. "I'm sorry. I'm not updated."

Samantha let out another giggle. She was just teasing Selene. "Nah, it's okay. I'm just kidding. By the way, I am a fashion designer. Did you hear about the clothing brand, Luna? I owned that!" Samantha informed her, feeling proud. Creating her own clothing band was her biggest achievement so far as a fashion designer.

Meanwhile, Selene's expression changed immediately at the mention of the clothing brand, Luna. She looked at Samantha with a worried expression.

"A-Are you the owner of Luna?" Selene asked Samantha to confirm again.

Samantha nodded her head frantically as a response.

Selene's face became pale in an instant as she remembered something in her past life.

'Oh my gosh… Samantha... she is the youngest leading designer in the City of Sierra, the owner of the clothing brand, Luna. If I remember it correctly… this only means… Samantha will die one month from now.'

Selene lost her appetite after recalling the past. In her previous life, she didn't know Samantha but in this lifetime, she met her and she was so nice to her.

"Hey, Selene. What's wrong? Are you alright? Do you feel unwell?" Samantha asked her the moment she noticed that the color was drained from her face.

"Oh, I'm fine. I think I just need to go to the comfort room. May I excuse myself for a while?"

"Sure, sure. The comfort room is in the right corner of this hall near the entrance. You can see the black wooden door. It will lead you in the comfort room." Samantha gave Selene an instruction.

"Do you want me to accompany you?" Samantha added.

Selene politely refused her offer. "No. It's okay. Just stay here and finish your food."

"Hmm, okay."

Selene turned to Renz and informed him that she would just go to the comfort room. Renz just nodded his head.

"Don't get lost, Come back soon," Renz said, teasing Selene.

Selene just smiled at him faintly before glancing at Eros. She was signaling Eros to follow her to the comfort room.

'Eh, seriously? She called me a pervert before because I appeared in her bathroom. But now, she is asking me to follow her in the Ladies Room? Is she for real?' Eros complained to himself, but he was already following Selene to the comfort room obediently.

Selene asked Eros to follow her because she wanted to ask and discuss something with him regarding Samantha's fate.

Fortunately, the guests were still having their meals. No one was inside the Ladies Comfort Room aside from Eros and Selene. Selene would try to be quick.

She locked the door for the moment so that she could talk to Eros without worrying about people overhearing their conversation.

"Ïs there something wrong, Selene? Why did you ask me to follow you here?"

Eros could see that something was bothering Selene based on her troubled expression.

"Eros, it's about Samantha. Can we do something about her?" Selene held Eros's shoulders.

"Something about her? What do you mean?" Eros looked at Selene confusedly.

"Can we save her from dying?"

Eros: "..."

Eros was rendered speechless for a moment. He couldn't understand Selene.

"Saving her from dying? Why?"

"Eros, I remember… in my previous life, Samantha will die, one month after this."

Eros sighed deeply, massaging his temples. "Selene, I already told you that you cannot change someone else's fate. If it is her time to die then she will die. We cannot do something about it just like how we can't do something to prolong your grandma's life."

"No! I wanna try. I want to save her. She's Renz's friend and she is very nice to me. Besides, her situation is different from grandma. She didn't die because of a terminal illness nor an accident. Eros, Samantha was murdered unjustly!"

Eros didn't know what to say after hearing that. Selene wanted to change Samantha's fate. This might cause trouble again to the grim reaper who was supposed to guide Samantha's soul in the Netherworld.

So he couldn't agree with Selene's plan. However, he could tell that Selene was so determined to save her.

"Selene! I am warning you! Knowing that she died because of murder that only means there is a killer here. Don't get involved! You will just put your life at risk. Are you planning to die again?" Eros warned and at the same time, scolded Selene.
