Chapter 29 - A Touching Reunion

Selene and Micaela finally arrived at her Family Villa. They stood in front of the big gate of an old Mansion. They were waiting for the guards to open the gate for them.

"Lady Selene, good morning! Welcome back!" The oldest guard in the Mansion greeted her enthusiastically.

The guard was in his mid-40s and had been serving Selene's Family for twenty-five years now. He was close to Selene like her own Uncle.

"Uncle Jorge! I'm so glad to see you." Selene greeted him back. "By the way, this is my friend, Micaela. Micaela, this is Uncle Jorge, the Head Guard of our Family."

Selene introduced them to each other. Micaela greeted Uncle Jorge politely.

"Madam Elysa is in the garden. She will be happy to see you. She has no idea that you are coming home today! Go and greet her. Let me carry your bags." Uncle Jorge took her backpack and Micaela's bag.

Selene nodded her head and turned to Micaela and Eros. "Come, let's meet my grandma!"

Selene felt blissful as she stepped back into the old house. She paused to look around her surroundings. She was caught in the surreal feeling that things in the past were still the same.

This Mansion was filled with her beautiful childhood memories with her parents and grandmother.

Who would have thought that after she died, she would be able to go back and live her life again in this lifetime? She was sent back to the past where she could still meet her beloved grandma.

'It feels good to be back home. Indeed, there's no place like home!' Selene thought to herself.

Selene and Micaela including Eros headed straight into the garden where Grandma Elysa was picking up flowers.

Selene's heart started racing fast when she caught a glimpse of her grandma's figure. As if her grandma had sensed their presence, she paused what she was doing and turned around to look in Selene's direction.

Selene could hardly believe this. She was here, seeing her grandmother alive while smiling at her lovingly. At that certain moment, Selene could no longer hide her longing.

She dashed towards her, running as fast as she could. Upon reaching her spot, Selene pounced on her grandma, hugging her tightly.

"Grandma…" She mumbled with her trembling voice.

She could no longer stop the urge to cry. Her heart was filled with a mixture of overwhelming feelings of joy and sadness.

She cried, weeping in her grandmother's arms. Micaela and Grandma Elysa just watched Selene in confusion. They didn't know why she was crying for no reason.

Only Eros could understand her feelings right now. There was a faint smile on his small face. Eros decided to leave them for a moment.

He had already seen enough of this touching reunion. If he would stay longer then he might end up approaching Selene just to wipe her tears.

If there's something Eros hated to see that would be a woman's tears. He couldn't bear to see them cry, especially Selene. He could feel their pains.

He wondered when did he start being bothered by seeing a girl cry. Was it when he encountered a lonely little girl crying hard under the bridge?

Meanwhile, Micaela just waited for Selene to calm down. She just stood in her spot, giving the grandmother and granddaughter their moments.

Grandma Elysa started to stroke Selene's hair. "My dearest Selene, why are you crying? Is there something wrong?"

Selene shook her head. "I just missed you so much, Grandma!"

'It's been five years that I haven't seen you. I thought I would never see you again except in heaven. I missed your voice, your smile, your warm embrace. Every time I would look at your empty chair, my heart was aching with so much pain and sorrow.'

Selene continued shedding tears as she tightened her embrace. She didn't want to let go, afraid that her grandma would disappear and leave her again alone.

"Oh my dear, I missed you too. Why didn't you tell me that you are coming home today? I should have asked your Aunt Linda to cook your favorite food," Grandma said, comforting her.

"It's okay, grandma. Don't worry about me. Today, let me cook your favorite food. You already spoiled me a lot. This time, I will be the one to spoil you, grandma."

One thing Selene learned from her previous life was that people should cherish and care for their loved ones for you would never know the heartache until they were gone in your life. Only in their absence, you would realize their true value.

She wondered if Renz had realized this as well the moment she died in front of him.

After she calmed down and gathered her emotions, Selene finally called Micaela to come over. She introduced Micaela and her Grandma to each other.

"Hello, Madam Anderson! It's my pleasure to finally meet you. Selene is always mentioning you to me. I envy her for having such a loving grandma like you," Micaela respectfully said to Grandma Elysa.

Grandma Elysa let out a soft giggle. She was so happy to meet Selene's friend, Micaela. This was the first time Selene brought a friend to their home.

"Just drop the formalities, Micaela. You are friends with Selene. She treats you like a sister. So just call me grandma, not Madam Anderson."

"I would be happy to do that… grandma…" Micaela said while smiling sweetly at Grandma Elysa.

"Alright, let's go inside the house first." Grandma Elysa said, pulling Selene's and Micaela's hands.

It seemed that the Old Mansion would be lively this weekend since two lovely ladies visited. They were walking toward the house when suddenly Micaela's phone rang.

Her expression changed the moment she saw the caller ID. Mr. M was the person who was calling her.

"Grandma, Selene, you go ahead. I will just follow you after this call," Micaela said, excusing herself.

Micaela went back to the garden to answer the phone. She looked around, making sure that no one was there aside from her. After that, she answered the phone call.

That's also the time Eros was passing by. He saw Micaela's strange behavior so he decided to observe her for a while.
