Chapter 26 - Mirror Under the Dusk

Chapter 26 Mirror Under the Dusk

Tucker scratched his head gloomily. His gaze drifted to Small Thorn Forest, revealing a hint of excitement. “We’ve already found a mirror. Where are the other antiques?”

While wiping his sweat with a white towel, Reiter did not forget to pay attention to the situation in Small Thorn Forest. He kept scanning. When he was moving the soil just now, he noticed that there were no antiques hidden in the soil.

At this moment, the Small Thorn Forest was more like a large shallow pit. Reiter’s gaze kept passing through the pit, and he focused as he caught an oval-shaped object. It was not soil, let alone thorn wood. Under the light, it even revealed red and blue colors.

It was definitely an antique, but from this angle, Reiter could not figure out what type it was. However, it was pressed down by the soil and the thorn wood on the ground. Only half of it was exposed. Reiter narrowed his eyes slightly and walked over personally.

Tucker’s expression hardened as he quickly followed. He drew his sword and strode to the front of Reiter, cleaving through all the obstacles blocking his path. These annoying thorns looked very sharp. Even if the knights did not defend themselves, they would still be pierced into their flesh if they touched it with their skin.

“Father, there seems to be an antique there! You must have noticed this long ago since you came in this direction, right?” After cutting down another piece of thorn wood that blocked his way, Tucker’s subconscious gaze suddenly focused on a corner of the ground, and his eyes lit up!

“Not bad. Since you’ve seen it, lift it up.”

“Father, the antique is covered in mud. I’ll carry it for you first. We’ll clean it up when we get back to the castle.” Tucker did as he was told. He looked at every corner of the antique but could not find any words. He was not in a hurry. With his previous experience, he knew that it could also be hidden inside and needed special methods to break it.

At the thought of the possibility of obtaining another Combat Technique or an unknown reward, Tucker’s chest was filled with excitement.

Rylei, who was watching from behind, thought to himself, “There’s already a breathing technique. Could there be records of magical spells?”

He couldn’t let his big brother take all the good luck, right?

Unfortunately, he didn’t know that this was the truth.

Reiter patted Tucker on the shoulder and smiled without saying a word. He spun around on the spot and took in the situation around him.

According to the simulation, three antiques were unearthed one after another. Including the mirror and the oval vase that Kurtin found, there was only one antique left in this land.

Continuing to lead Tucker around the dirt, his keen eyes picked up some more suspicious tracks. Perhaps the remaining antique of the Ancient Dan Kingdom was hidden under these corners and mounds. If he dug deeper, he would be able to find it.

However, in this way, his actions seemed a little prophetic.

In order not to show any abnormalities, Reiter gave up on looking for the last antique himself. Instead, he frowned and looked around for a while before walking out of the Small Thorn Forest in disappointment.

When he passed by Kurtin, Kurtin congratulated him, “Congratulations, sir, for obtaining two more antiques!”

“Thank you. It’s up to you now. I still have something to do later. Perhaps there are still antiques hidden here and I need you to continue digging. If you discover anything new, you must send it to the Deep Rock Castle immediately.” Reiter smiled and patted Kurtin’s shoulder. “There’s a reward. I’ve seen your hard work.”

“It’s only right for me to serve you, my lord!” Kurtin patted his chest proudly.

Under Reiter’s gaze, Kurtin quickly turned around and walked towards the Small Thorn Forest. He held a shovel in his hand and waved his hand. “Everyone, continue working. Whoever finds an antique before dark will be granted a three-day holiday!”

When the simple lumberjacks heard that they could rest, they were instantly happy. They dexterously crawled into the pit and began a new round of digging.

The construction site of the Small Thorn Forest returned to its bustling state.

Kurtin walked to the entrance of the forest and stopped moving. He took out an egg from his trouser pocket, peeled it, and swallowed it. After chewing twice, he swallowed it with his saliva. He was really too hungry.

Reiter didn’t care about this detail. He pretended not to see what was going on in the Small Thorn Forest. He stared at a mirror and a vase and rubbed his chin.

Not bad. Not long after he arrived, he had already obtained two antiques. Standing not far away, Reiter thought to himself, “Looks like it won’t be long before I can lead the caravan out tomorrow.”

In the evening.

There was a unique romance in the winter dusk. The setting sun on the horizon was like blood. Clouds condensed into all kinds of strange postures, like shy elves dancing under the curtain of the sky.

The faint red light shone on the faces of the “spectators”. Their faces were as red as ripe apples. They were the footmen and maids of the Deep Rock Castle. They whispered to each other and looked at the beautiful scenery with joy. After working hard for the entire day, they took advantage of the leisure time when it was almost evening to see such a scene when they went out. They were relaxed and intoxicated.

Downstairs, it was a scene of peace and intoxication.

Upstairs, in front of a fireplace that was burning with flames in the hall on the fifth floor of the Deep Rock Castle sat the three sons’ red faces. They surrounded Reiter. Tucker scratched his ears and cheeks anxiously. He pointed at a clear and clean mirror and muttered, “This can’t be just an ordinary mirror, right? I’ve tried everything, but I didn’t find anything!”

Under the feet of the four of them, a square vase, an oval vase, and a black leather bag were placed together.

Only the colorful mirror on its back was a little further away from the other three antiques. It was placed flat on the ground, attracting the attention of the four of them. Even Reiter fell into deep thought. Every antique clearly contained a secret. The other two vases and the leather bag had been soaked in water, roasted by fire, and cut open to discover the hidden layer. They had each obtained a Silver Elephant Breathing Technique, a Cross Slash Combat Technique, and a Gale Spike Combat Technique. But they had used many methods, such as soaking in water, roasting by fire, corrosion, light, and so on for this mirror. They had tried to break through the concealment methods, but in the end, it was obvious that it was useless. He looked at his sons’ expressions. After many fruitless attempts, they were more or less suspicious and even gave up. They all thought that this might be an ordinary mirror. Only Reiter did not give up. He firmly believed that there was definitely something hidden in the mirror. It was just that they had yet to find a suitable method to reveal its true appearance.

Reiter sat on the chair and crossed his legs. He said leisurely, “Forget it. Let’s rest for a while. It’s easier to think of a way after resting from a hard day’s work.”

Rylei sighed and pursed his lips helplessly. He moved to the side and prepared to enjoy dinner later.

Thales also followed his second brother. In fact, he had come up with the mentality of having fun. He wanted to experience something very magical to him. “Big Brother, let’s go down together. I heard that Chef Maru made roasted whole lamb tonight. We’re in for a treat tonight.” Thales grinned and tugged at Tucker’s arm. Upon hearing that there would be delicious food, Tucker, who was vexed that he had been unable to crack the mirror’s secret for a long time, finally had a glimmer of light in his eyes. He turned and left, taking a big step. A sudden change occurred! There was originally a wide window in the entire hall.

However, Tucker’s original position was between the mirror and the window. His burly body blocked a large portion of the light. As Tucker stepped aside, the beautiful sunset light shone directly on the cleaned mirror. A faint red light was reflected and reflected on the ceiling of the hall.
