Chapter 34:Drunk Drama

"Are you okay? You've been quiet ever since you got that call," Lana asked Jordan as the got out of the car.

"Yeah, it was nothing," he tried to brush it off but she saw right through him.

"It doesn't seem like nothing," she persisted.

"I said it's nothing so just drop it okay?!" Jordan snapped.

"You know what? I'm too drunk to handle your drama-I'm going to bed," Lana said with a wave of her hand and stumbled up the stairs, shoes in hand.

"Nice Jordan. You've successfully botched the happy reunion yet again. Good night." Jones patted him on the shoulder and left.

Jordan followed Lana upstairs and decided to go to his room tonight. He had a lot on his mind and Lana's whining was getting to him. He just wanted to be alone and be left to his thoughts. That call from Preston had left him shaken-up. All this time he had believed that Dahlia was dead-now he gets news that she's still alive.

According to Preston's sources, she was stuck in Afghanistan. He would have to go and find her and bring her back home where she belonged. The only problem was telling Lana. He always seemed to mess things up with her. He really cared about her and he knew they could be happy together, if he made more of an effort. But his main priority right now was making sure Dahlia was okay.

Jordan got off his bed, slipped on his shorts and went to Lana's room. Sleep was evading him and she always had a calming effect on him. He knew once he jumped in her bed and wrapped his arms around her, he would be out like a light.

Unfortunately, when he got to her door it was locked.

"What do you want Carter?" Lana stood by the door, dressed in her skimpy silk pajamas.

"I can't sleep," he said sheepishly.

"So?" she blocked the doorway.

"Please let me come in, Bambi? I'm really tired sweets," his arctic eyes bored into hers and her resolve almost melted.

"No," she pursed her lips, "you cannot come in. I'm tired of this Carter," she sighed, fatigue covered her face.

"I just want to hold you until I fall asleep-no funny business. Promise," he ducked under her arm and went straight to the bed.

"Then I'm going to sleep in the guestroom," she started to walk out and he caught her by the arm.

"Can we just go to bed and talk tomorrow? We can talk as soon as you open your eyes-promise," he vowed.

"We talk now or no deal," she narrowed her eyes.

"Come on Bambi!" Jordan whined as he rolled his eyes.

"Then you can go and drink a warm glass of milk and see how that goes. Good night Carter," she patted him on his bare chest and he grabbed her wrist gently.

"Sweets please?" he kept her hand against his chest and she could feel his heart racing. Her eyes dropped and she took in his well-sculpted abs and stopped herself from going further.

"That's not going to work this time," she tore her eyes away from his hypnotic blue ones.

"Fine..let's talk first..." he sighed in defeat, swooped her off the floor and carried her back to the bedroom, "we're sleeping in my room tonight."

"I just want to talk-don't care where it happens," she smirked and looped her hands around his neck.

"I created a monster," Jordan rolled his eyes and laid her gently on the bed.

"No touching while we talk," she pushed him away firmly.

"What else? No looking?" He teased.

"Look Jordan, we can't keep going round in circles. You're always hot and cold and it's confusing," Lana hugged her knees and peered at him.

"Sweets..you do realize this is a pretty intense conversation to have at two in the morning?" Jordan groaned, "but you're right.."

"The last time we spoke you said we should stay away from each other-"

"I was angry sweets. Besides-I couldn't stay away from you even if I tried. Believe me, I have tried but all I could think about while I was away was you. That's why I came back all this way-for you.." he stared up at the ceiling, "I missed you."

"But you still haven't changed your mind about us?"

"I'll get there-"

"No.. I can't wait until you come around. What if it never happens?" she questioned.

"It will baby. It's going to take time but it will," he took her face in his hands and stared into her eyes. She could see that he meant what he said but she wanted more-more than he was willing to give her right now.

"If nothing's changed from the last time we spoke then there's no point in continuing this conversation," she covered herself and lay with her back to him.

"Lana...I need time to sort out a few loose ends and then I will this relationship my all. There's so much going on-I wish I could explain it all to you-but I need to sort it out. Then and only then can I fully give myself to you. You deserve that," he lay behind her and put his arms around her. "Please say you will wait?"

"I think I've waited long enough," she replied, "goodnight Carter."

"Do you care about me?" he asked.

"What?"

"Do you see us together indefinitely? Do you think we have a future?"

"Of cos babe," she answered with certainty.

"Then let me sort out my mess so that we can have a chance without any hindrances." He swallowed hard and his grip tightened slightly.

"Why don't you just tell me what's going on Carter?" she turned over and faced him.

"I wouldn't even know where to start baby," he brushed her hair off her face, "it's just one big mess."

"Tell me?" she pleaded.

"I will-but not right now," he licked his lips and gulped, "Can I kiss you now? Please?"

"I thought you said strictly sleeping?" she raised her eyebrow.

"I'm going back on tour day on Monday morning," and to look for Dahlia he said to himself, "I don't know if I'll be able to come and see you any time soon..so tonight may be our last night to be together sweets."

Jordan was not sure about what would happen after he saw Dahlia. He still had feelings for her but at the same time, he also felt something for Lana. He knew that if he told her the truth she wouldn't want to see him again-contract or otherwise. So all he could give her was tonight.

Lana's walls came tumbling down as she crushed her lips against his. What was the point of saying no when she was in too deep anyway? Jordan had promised to give himself to her so that was good enough in her books.
