Chapter 154 - I'll Give My All

Jason Moravsky smiled and narrowed his eyes, pressing his fingers together. His relationship with the Chairwoman? He had answered that question many times. Maybe because he was more than close with her, some people often mistook him as her son!

"For me, your mother is the most important person in this world. The only one whom I can call a family." He stated, glancing at Yelena.

"Family?" Yelena was a bit confused. Did someone like her mother could even open up to strangers? What's more, they were close enough to the point where the other person called her a family! Was that really her mother? She sounded like a different person!

"Yes, family." Jason Moravsky took a deep breath and then forced a little smile. "I'm an orphan." His voice trailed off and she raised a brow at his words.

Orphan?! The fact didn't even cross her mind! Maybe she thought that someone young and successful like him would hail from an accomplished family. Being an executive at a global group like TR Group was not an easy feat!

"I'm sorry. I have no idea about that." She promptly apologized. Did she ask him what she shouldn't? But when she glanced at him, she realized that a little smile was still on his face.

"It's fine." He muttered and paused a second before he told her his story. "My mother raised me alone as my father died when I was a baby. But when I was in high school, my mother passed away due to illness. I reached my lowest point in life during that time."

"I was still a minor, so it's not easy for me to support myself. It was your mother who lent me a hand and support me. After I finish high school, she sent me to study abroad and as soon as I finished my studies, I started working for her."

Her mother did that to a young boy whom she didn't even know? Yelena was more and more confused. She remained quiet, trying to process what she just heard. Maybe Jason Moravsky understood her, he spoke up to clarify.

"Don't get me wrong. Before your mother married to the Arista family, my mother used to work for your mother's family. That's how she knows about me. Besides, you know your mother's nature, right? She doesn't know how to show her feelings and she doesn't know how to be warm either. Even while I was studying, I never got to meet her." He lightly chuckled.

"It took me a lot of efforts and stubbornness to be able to get close to her. In the end, my persistence prevails and now, we are like a family."

Whenever she heard the word 'family', Yelena felt intrigued. She realized that she didn't know her mother at all! While she was still lost in her thoughts, Jason Moravsky spoke up again.

"Do you know why I tell you all these?"

She darted her eyes to him when she heard him. When he noticed her confused eyes, he took them as an answer.

"You are about to enter a completely different world. It will be very different from your life in the military. So, you must be feeling lost and even scared. If that's the case, I want to make you feel that you can put your complete trust in me." Jason earnestly said. "Your mother builds me into who I am today, so I'm willing to repay her with my life. If she didn't take my hand years ago, I don't even want to think how my life would turn out. It's that big of a matter for me."

"As long as it's for the company and your mother, I'm willing to sacrifice everything. You're her only daughter whom she loved with all her heart, so I'll give my all to help you. I will make sure that both your mother and the company is safe. I only ask for your trust. Nothing else." He added.

Yelena met his gaze and felt his sincerity. She doesn't know much about this man but she trusts in her mother and her mother trusted this man the most. "How old are you?" She suddenly asked after a few seconds of silence.

Jason Moravsky didn't expect such a question but still, he promptly responded. "I'm 30."

"You are older than me by 5 years. You don't have to be so formal." She simply said and he was taken aback once more. However, he slightly smiled the next second.

"You might not know this but even business have some resemblance with the army. Hierarchy in the army is based on ranks while in the company, it's a title. I'm just an executive, a Director." He mused.

"Don't you say that you want trust between us? It would be easier to build trust that way." She argued. Her voice and expression remained calm.

Jason Moravsky finally let out a light laughter. "Fine then. I will give a try." He takes his office bag which was placed next to him. "Then why don't we start now? You have many things to learn."

Yelena nodded and reached out her hand to take the files but... her phone went off. When she looked at the caller ID, she quickly answered the call.

"Brigadier Lexus." She greeted Felix's cousin.

"Now?" She slightly raised a brow and glanced at the files.

"Okay. I'll be right there."

She put down the phone and looked at Jason apologetically. "I'm sorry but something urgent came up. I need to go to Moray Hospital right now." She glanced at her wristwatch and frowned when she noticed that it was already 3 in the evening.

"Moray Hospital?" Jason raised a brow. That's where the Chairwoman was staying!

"It's not about my mother." She promptly clarified when she understood his reaction. "It's a friend."

"No problem. We can study when you're free. You're leaving for the hospital, right? I will come too. I want to visit the Chairwoman." Jason Moravsky said as he rose from his seat. Then the two left the mansion.

After half an hour, they both reached the hospital. Jason went to the Chairwoman's hospital room right away while Yelena went to Gina's room to meet Lexus. When she reached there, she saw Gina sitting on the bed with Lexus beside her. The room was cleared too. Did they plan to discharge?

"You're here." Lexus instantly stood up when he saw her.

"You're leaving the hospital?" She asked, walking towards them.

"Yes. We will catch a flight right after this." He briefly glanced at Gina who was still sitting on the bed. "She wants to return to our country."

Yelena turned to Gina Larson and slowly approached her. Then she sat on the bench beside the bed.

"She said she wants to tell us something," Lexus said as he returned to Gina's side.

Yelena observed Gina and noticed that she seemed to be much better than the last time she saw her. Though she still looked pale, she resembled a living person now. Then she recalled what Alonzo told her. He forced Gina into submission. That's what the psychopath said.

"I heard what happened to you," Gina muttered and slowly met her gaze. "I'm sorry for that."

"It's not your fault. You don't have to apologize." Yelena calmly said but Gina shook her head.

"It's my fault. If I was not a coward... " Gina paused, struggling to continue. "I have no courage to expose him. I'm not brave like you."

Gina narrowed her eyes at her damaged legs. They were still there but she can't move them at all. "I will pay for my crimes but... I don't even know if they would grant me that. I will only be a nuisance."

"Felix already told you that he forgives you. You are forced against your will." Yelena argued.

Gina glanced at Lexus who never took his eyes off her. Then she narrowed her eyes. "That night, I went to Cara's house. She called me saying that she had a huge fight with Felix, so I went there to console her. I admit that I was blinded by my feelings during that time. I wanted her to part with the Prince but... I never thought of harming her, not even once."

"When I reached there, she was already dead but Alonzo was still inside the house. Overwhelmed by fear, I tried to run away but... he caught me. That's when my life turned to hell."

"At first, I tried to tell the Police but he outwits me. He caught me and threatened me. I was even tortured and forced into submission. Since then, he controlled me and used me to carry out his plan."

Gina recalled the events from many years ago, the times when she was still not aware of Alonzo's nature. She was foolish enough to believe in him!

He was the one who used to tell her that Felix didn't really love Cara. He even told her that the one Cara loved was not Felix, but him. He said that Cara Laria never stopped calling or texting him!

Already blinded by jealousy, she believed those lies and created a stir between the couple who truly loved each other. If only she didn't believe those lies! Will her life be a little less chaotic?
