Chapter 5 - Light

Dante and Selah entered inside the church. Selah was still carrying Mirajane on her shoulders. Elfman and Lisana followed behind them.

"Right this way." Selah moved her hands upward in a way to signal Dante and the other Strauss children to follow her.

Selah leads the children to a nearby room located deep inside the church.

"Where are you taking us?" Dante gritted his teeth and clenched his fist. He trusted no one. His guard was all the way up.

"You are pretty sharp for a small kid. But don't you think you are taking this a little bit too far? If you can't trust anyone then how are you going to live in this world?" Selah opens the wooden door of the room and gently places down Mirajane onto a bed that had white sheets.

"The only people I trust are my own family." Dante snarled as he wiped his own blood off from his face. He still had grave injuries from being slashed by the demonic dragon who killed his father.

"My God. Who did this to you?" Selah kneels over to Dante and cleans the dried from his eyes.

"Don't touch me!" Dante slaps away her hands with angst in his silver eyes.

"If I don't clean your wounds then they will get infected! Just relax and take a deep breath. This will hurt." Selah takes out some holy water and baptizes Dante's face.

"Aaaaaaaah! That hurts! What the hell?!" Dante grips at his face, suddenly his wounds start to heal! It was healing water purified with her holy magic!

"Told you it would hurt. You really are a fire-head. Just take a nap or if you're hungry I can fix up you little rascals something to eat!" Selah brightly smiles. She was like a ray of hope in such a dark and cruel world.

Dante couldn't help to see his mother in her. It was sad that Dante's own mother left him behind with his two sisters and brother. She had an important S-Class mission she had to do. She never came back... All those years waiting for his mother to return made his blood boil. It was Mirajane who looked after everyone while his mother was gone on her mission. It pissed off Dante to the core. It was even worse now that their father had been killed without his mother even being there to help them out!

"Fine, I'll eat something. After we heal my sister." Dante said with a sigh as he looked at Mirajane with worry in his silver eyes.

"Alright kiddo, stand back and watch." Selah cracked her knuckles and lifted her palms over Mirajane's forehead. Suddenly a ray of light magic came out of her palms and a mist of glowing whitish mana encircled Mirajane's injured body. Her wounds were healing at a fast rate! Even faster than when Dante was doused with holy water! Mirajane's blackish demon scales started to disappear from her skin. The demon virus was slowly fading away by Selah's powerful healing magic.

"You impressed? Come on let her rest and let's get you guys some food." Selah stands up and playfully rubs Dante's white hair into a mess.

"Hey don't touch me!" He shouts.

"Haha. When you grow up you sure are going to be good with the ladies," Selah winks as she walks towards the kitchen.

"Well, are you guys coming or not? I want to hear how you got that badass scar on your face." Selah grinned as she poked Dante's little nose.

Even in the darkest of days...There is one single ray of light that shines upon us. The light of hope.
