156 The Longevity Pill 1

"Master, what should we do with this guy?"

Wei Yiyi’s eyes glistened coldly as she fretted. She didn’t even notice that an assassin from the Gentle Breeze Faction had been following them all the while. If it weren’t for the sharp senses of her Master, perhaps he would have already successfully carried out his orders.

Gu Ruoyun lifted her head and looked at the man before her. She questioned him in an expressionless voice, "Gu Xianglin had ordered you to stalk me but it wasn’t for something as simple as attacking me. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been in hiding without making a move. Speak now, what’s his true motive?"

"Don’t ask me. I’ll never tell even if you were to torture me!"

The assassin had recovered from his panic and gritted his teeth as he prepared for the worst.

"You wish to die?"

Gu Ruoyun laughed.

For some reason, the assassin’s body trembled when he saw her smile. A pure fear went through his very soul. It wasn’t long before his clothes became soaked with cold sweat.

The young girl did not say anything else and the entire night sky fell silent. It was horrifyingly quiet. This feeling had the assassin in pins and needles, it was more unbearable than being tortured.

After a long while, a quiet and clear voice sounded from the girl, "Do you know why I had intentionally let you listen in on my conversation with Wei Yiyi?"

The killer was in a daze and as he looked with confusion at Gu Ruoyun.

Had she used those words to trick him into revealing himself? No! That’s not right. If she had already been aware of him then she didn’t need to use any others tactics to detect his presence.

"It’s because..." Gu Ruoyun smiled as she stared at the man. Her voice like a devil straight from hell that led one, step by step, towards an inescapable oblivion. "I needed your help to do one thing. More accurately speaking, I want you to be my spy in the Gu household to investigate the perpetrator of my parents’ death."

"Forget about it!"

The flustered assassin shouted - he would never bow to this woman!

"That’s not your choice to make."

The young girl’s delicate face was still full of smiles, "Baobao, it’s your turn now. Let the people of the Gentle Breeze Faction know the true might of a spirit beast mount!"

"Awooooo!"

A wolf’s howl broke the silent night and scared the assassin half to death.

"Wolf... How could there be a wolf here?"

He mumbled that question with an ashen face. He then looked at Gu Ruoyun and it was as though he had seen something scary - his eyes widened and he became so stricken with panic that he could not even utter a word.

Under the moonlight, a white snow wolf stood beside the young girl. It was majestic, like a guardian angel who was shielding the person it wanted to protect.

"A spirit beast!"

The assassin’s face paled further as he thought of ways to retreat. Although the mounts of the Gentle Breeze Faction were also spirit beasts, they were from the lowest tier of spirit beasts and were easy to tame. However, snow wolves were different. They were hard to tame and even harder for anyone to bind them to a contract with a human...

Most importantly, this snow wolf was fiercely strong! Its level of power was comparable with the Master of the Gentle Breeze Faction!

But their Master was a Martial King cultivator! How had this little girl possibly managed to tame this snow wolf?

"What kind of enemy had the Young Master of the Gentle Breeze Faction made?" His face was pale and his body was quivering. With a face of despair and hopelessness, "We’re doomed, the Young Master has brought upon the death of the Gentle Breeze Faction through his own hands!"

"Roar!"

Baobao roared once. At first, the assassin had thought that it was warning him but he quickly realized that something was amiss. He felt as though his soul was being trapped and he couldn’t break away from the binding!
