101 Martial King vs. Martial King 2

Gu Ruoyun smiled faintly. Her clear eyes focused on the man in black who stood before her as she said, "Whether I’m stalling for time or not, you should at least tell me your name before you kill me, right?"

"My name?" The man in black sneered, "You’re not worthy enough to know my name. Regardless of how long you plan to prolong this matter Gu Ruoyun, it will be to no avail. No one... will be able to save you."

"Whoever said no one would be able to save her?"

Suddenly, an angry roar was heard from behind Gu Ruoyun. Upon turning their heads to look, the crowd saw General Luo and Luo Yin leading ten thousand elite soldiers from the crowd. It was as if they had already discussed it before the incident, the crowd parted to form a road for the army, allowing them to reach Gu Ruoyun smoothly.

The elite soldiers immediately drew their weapons and surrounded Ling Yu and the man in black.

"General Luo." Ling Yu’s expression turned an ugly shade, "As the general of a nation, you're actually abusing your official authority? You're mobilizing imperial troops all for the sake of a personal grudge!"

General Luo swiftly drew his greatsword from its hilt and stabbed it into a piece of the ground in front of him loudly. He was adorned in full armor, looking like an awe-inspiring god of war that was planning on defending Gu Ruoyun.

"Whoever told you that I'm abusing my authority? That I'm using it for my personal grudges? As a general, I am protecting Azure Dragon Country!" He smiled coldly and looked at the man in black, "A man of unknown origin has infiltrated the Azure Dragon Country. My country! As a general that serves the Azure Dragon Country, it is my duty to investigate this matter thoroughly. Who can say if he'll compromise the safety of His Imperial Highness! So, until such time that we thoroughly investigate and determine your identity, please follow me."

A cold and gloomy aura circled the man in black. His venomous, snake-like eyes locked onto General Luo’s figure, seemingly similar to a mountain. He replied hoarsely, "I don’t want to be tangled with a nation's military, so if you even have a semblance of a brain, leave immediately or I may just kill you first!"

Instantly, sharp murderous intent could be felt rushing toward General Luo.

General Luo turned pale as he felt the murderous intent the man's aura was giving off, his body swayed. However, upon remembering that he was the general of a nation, he knew that it would look terrible if he was beaten by someone in front of the entire capital. So, he squared his shoulders and stood proudly in front of the man in black.

"Gu Ruoyun, are you okay?"

Luo Yin rushed to Gu Ruoyun and asked worriedly, "Who is this guy? Why would he even want to help Ling Yu kill you?"

She did not believe that Ling Yu would be capable of compelling a high ranked cultivator to come to her aid.

"I’m not sure," Gu Ruoyun shook her head, "That aura on his body is unfamiliar to me... I’ve never seen it before and I'm not sure what his motive is."

Luo Yin patted Gu Ruoyun’s shoulder and spoke with the air of a solemn vow, "Don't worry, no matter what. This is the Azure Dragon Country and my father is one of the two generals who defend it. The military power that he leads is on par with the power of that old man from the Gu family. No one dares to kill in front of my father, as long as we’re in the Azure Dragon Country."

"That’s not necessarily true."

The expression in Gu Ruoyun’s eyes turned grave, "This opponent is far too strong, and for an expert cultivator of this level, no matter how strong your military powers are, it won’t matter."

Those who had never reached the rank of Martial King would never know how fearsome cultivators in this rank were. Even if he was to face a million heroic soldiers, he would cut them all down to the last man. For the sake of her life, however, General Luo and Luo Yin did not even hesitate to go against a Martial King. Gu Ruoyun felt touched.

However, if General Luo’s men could somehow stall him, then they would have some hope of turning the tables…
