Chapter 42 - Bardock's Struggles!

The first person to fight this time was actually Bardock and some guy that looked like Master Splinter. On the other ring, it was Pikkon fighting some fish looking man who carried a trident. This Master Splinter Character didn't mess around and went full power from the start.

His full power was far stronger than Bardock's, which caused Bardock to take a serious beating. Just as he was being beaten, he found that he had no choice.

Bardock clenched his teeth and looked at Kayn and Gine, he seemed to be hinting at something. Bardock was brutalized by the Ratman, it was like the old rat was doing it on purpose as he smiled while punching and kicking Bardock around the stage.

Bardock stood up and formed a whitish blue ball of energy in his hand and threw it into the sky. Kayn and Gine both pulled out some sunglasses and put them on as soon as they saw Bardock form this energy.

Bardock flew to the sky once he released the ball, but he started to change rapidly. His size increased, he grew hairy, and most importantly, his strength increased by 10 times!

"Roar!!" Bardock roared, then energy formed in his mouth. The Old Ratman was shocked, he quickly moved out of the way.

Booom!

"Whaa....!"

The arena was nearly wiped out, but a series of wind kicked up, blowing the announcer away. The Ratman couldn't escape the wind either, and he was also hit by the powerful winds; flying out of the arena.

Bardock won just like that.

Kayn had already moved to catch the mushroom-headed announcer.

"A-ah, thanks!" The announcer wiped his clothes, then looked at the arena to see that the Ratman had lost.

"W-winner, Bardock!" The announcer hurriedly and announced. The Powerball began to fade, and Bardock returned to his human form rapidly.

Bardock sighed in relief, he really needed to train more and not rely so much on his Oozaru form. He jumped off the stage and returned to where Kayn and Gine were. King Kai was talking with the other Kai about something, but King Kai seemed happy about Bardock's victory much to West Kai's dismay.

On the other hand, Pikkon wiped out his opponent relatively quick. Kayn watched the fights of many races and different styles. Some were weird, some were unique, some were flashy, and some were things that Kayn would have never thought of.

Kayn got a few ideas from some of the strange Techniques these people were using and decided to make a few Techniques later down the line.

"Hehe, it looks like my fighter is going against your fighter next match." King Kai saw that Gine was up next and her opponent was a guy named Arqua.

"D-don't get too excited, Arqua's strength has grown from before." East Kai folded her arms, but she felt like cursing North Kai because she knew the sad truth.

"He only has a few good fighters, Pikkon is better than all his fighters combined." West Kai found time to gloat as usual.

"We'll see who comes out on top of this tournament." King Kai smiled, he seemed to have grown confident in his disciples at this point.

"Next, Gine vs Arqua and TapKar vs Karthus!"

Gine and Arqua stepped on the Arena, while TapKar, who was South Kai's disciple stepped on the arena to fight Karthus.

As soon as the announcer announced the battle to start, Gine made her move. She already heard from Kayn that this character was extremely weak, and was easy to defeat. He even told her his exact power level, something he knew from the series.

Arqua tried to make a move, but he was easily suppressed by Gine and thrown out of the ring.

"Hahaha! What kinda disciples do you have, they're too weak!" King Kai laughed to the sky seeing East Kai's disciple defeated so miserably.

"Arqua, you could have at least loss with some dignity, you were beaten so easily! I'll have to punish you later!" East Kai was furious seeing Arqua thrown out of the ring like a 2-year-old child.

"No, miss Kai, please, anything but punishment!" Arqua pleaded for mercy, but his pleads fell on deaf ears.

However, TapKar won his match, Tapkar was decently strong. Kayn remembered these characters and their strength. TapKar barely won his match though, he was gasping for air after his match.

The matches continued to commence 2 at a time. Kayn could hear King Kai and West Kai arguing and debating from time to time. Kayn fought his match, he was up against a guy named Gorilla, another guy he had seen from the Dragonball Z series.

He had a light brown body with no hair, he was very tall in stature with sharp elf-like ears. He had small angel-like wings on his back with a gorilla face. The man talked and threw out threats often, but he was slapped out of the ring with a single hit.

His eyes were wide from shock as if he couldn't understand what had happened. Even though Kayn wasn't getting any good fights, he was still being stimulated from combat. Pikkon was weaker this time around compared to when he would meet Goku later.

This time, Bardock and Gine ate allot, they didn't show any public decency and tore into their food without care. Kayn didn't burn any energy, but he didn't think it was good to eat when fights were to come.

This caused many people to lose their appetites in the area!

Kayn didn't say anything and just watched them eat silently. In no time, the 3rd round had started, Bardock wanted to make it into the top 8, so he vowed not to lose. Sadly, there were many people far stronger than.

The 3rd round would eliminate 32 people this time.

This time, Gine fought against TapKar, her base form was enough to fight against this guy since his strength was around 2 million.

"Haha, one down West Kai, 2 more to go, hahaha!" King Kai looked like the happiest guy ever as he roared in laughter.

"Damn, this isn't over!" West Kai jumped up and down angrily, he was the shortest of the Kais, so from Kayn's perspective; this looked funny.

Kayn's match was second, he was fighting against a guy named Chapuchai. Chapuchai was one of South Kai's disciples, he was a true Canon fighter. He was a brown-skinned man with a bald head and a huge beard.

Kayn had to say that up until now, he was strongest so far, but he wasn't good enough. Kayn fought with him for a bit before kicking him out of the ring.

"Ah, yes, yes, my disciples are the ultimate!"

"Dang, it! I hope your disciple is kicked out of the ring!" The South Kai was visibly irritated and said.

It was now Bardock's turn, he was fighting a decently strong guy, at least stronger than him. His name was Sai, he carried a sword as his chosen weapon. Kayn didn't even know weapons were allowed in this tournament.

The man didn't have a sword before, instead, he used hand to hand combat to fight. The South Kai whispered something to him earlier, which seemed to have changed his mind as he brought a weapon to the ring.

The fight had started with both parties hitting their fist against each other. Bardock shot an energy attack at Sai, but he deflected it away.

"Saiyan, you'll have to do better than that to defeat a true warrior like me." Sai looked at Bardock and smirked before forming his hand into a gun-like gesture. Sai shot off may beams of energy as Bardock took to the sky to dodge the flurry of attacks.

Sai put both his hand together to form a bigger gun-like blast! The attack shot off a huge white beam towards Bardock.

"Oh, no, this is one of Sai's special attacks!" The mushroomed headed announcer looked excited and spoke loudly through his mic.

Bardock's eyes went wide, but such an attack wasn't hard to dodge and he wouldn't sit by to get hit by it.

Boom!

"Good, you manage to dodge, but it's time I got serious." Sai started to power-up, his strength was obviously stronger than Bardock's at this point, much stronger.

However, Kayn felt that Bardock's Oozaru form should be enough to do this guy in. Bardock also felt the strength of this guy and knew he needed to transform in order to win.

Bardock's base strength had already bypassed 2 million at this point because of his recent battles, particularly the one where he was getting beat by the Ratman.

Sai moved quickly and appeared in front of Bardock. Bardock swung to punched at him, but his fist was caught easily. Sai Punched Bardock in the stomach, causing Bardock to kneel slightly in the sky. He grabbed Bardock's head, then slammed his face into his knee before kicking him down to the stage.

This shook the whole area and the arena, as a small dust cloud appeared.

"This guy...!" Gine was angered, but Kayn told her that no one would die and that Bardock could only gain from this.

"Damn it!" Bardock was on his 4s, he was bleeding out his nose before he swiped it away. He stood up and formed a Powerball in his hand, he had no choice or he would lose.

He didn't have any special techniques he could use, he didn't receive special training like Gine besides some weight training. Gine and Kayn once again pulled out some special sunglasses to deflect the Blutz wave's effects.

'Here it comes!' Sai mumbled.

The Powerball's Energy wasted no time in affecting Bardock, as his body started to change into a Giant Ape again. "There it is again, Bardock Super Ape form, it's going to get really windy around here, so he advised everyone!" The announcer warned.

Bardock gave a deafening roar and glared at Sai, who had drawn his sword this time. Bardock's size almost ringed him out of the match, so he flew to the sky to attack right away.

"Damn, for something so big, it's fast as hell!" Sai cursed. Sai knew where he had to target, he could feel that this Ape was stronger than him, and the speed of it didn't slouch at all.

"Sword Light!" Sai turned his sword, revealing the flat side of the blade. Just when he was about to be grabbed by Bardock's big hand, a bright light flashed out from his sword. This light was blinding, similar to the [Solar Flare] Skill.

Everyone turned away or covered their eyes from the blinding light, but Gine and Kayn, including most of the Kais, could still see what was going on. Kayn had on shades, but if he didn't he would have been blinded by this skill as well.

The West Kai wasn't so fortunate, he didn't have any glasses, so he was affected by the skill.

Bardock retrieved his hands to cover his large eyes, he was directly affected by this light.

'Now is my chance!' Sai moved hurriedly, his target was Bardock's tail! He was briefed on the weakness of this form by South Kai. Bardock's massive figure was swinging wildly, trying to hit anyone close by.

"Focus!" Kayn hollered over to Bardock, he knew what Sai was about to do. Bardock stopped after hearing Kayn's voice and focused, but Sai already at his tail!

"Zip!"

Bardock swung his fist and tried to move his tail, but it was too late. His tail was removed by Sai, but.... he still managed to smack Sai hard on his back!

"Ugh!" Sai coughed up a mouth full of blood and was sent flying out of control into the spectator's seating area. On the other hand, Bardock lost his ability to maintain his Oozaru state with the loss of his tail.

The Giant tail fell onto the arena and wiggled uncontrollably like a worm caught in the sun before it completely stopped.

"W-winner, Bardock!" The audience was silent for a moment, but then they started shouting in excitement.

"Wow, he beat Sai, that guy is one of the cunning fighters, but he won!"

"I won this bet, I had complete faith in this Bardock Character, I earned big money, hahaha!" There seemed to be people placing bets, it was unknown what they would use the money for, after all, some of them were dead.

"Good Fight, nice win." King Kai came over to congratulate Bardock.

"His injuries need to be healed and his tail is missing!" Gine believed the key to a Saiyan's true strength was their tail, but now Bardock's was gone for now.

Kayn didn't believe that, even if he didn't have his tail, he should be able to unlock the Ikari state. Broly didn't have a tail but he was still able to do this, so this wasn't the main source of their power.

The three of them fought already, so there was no point in staying. They left to have Bardock's injuries healed. Bardock thanked Kayn for reminding him earlier, he had panicked, something he never did on missions back then.

Kayn knew this panic was caused because these opponents in this place weren't pushovers, and were quite challenging to him.

King Kai brought some medics over to heal him for the next round.
