At night, when it was almost eleven o’clock, Su Yanxi, her assistant, and the other two lawyers had prepared all the information on the case. Hence, they pack up their things and get ready to get off work.

After everyone left the office, Yi Yao saw that she had no intention of getting off work and could not help but ask, “Ms. Su, aren’t you getting off work?”

Su Yanxi looked up and took a sip of her coffee, “I’ll leave later. You guys can leave first!”

“Alright then! Ms. Su, don’t stay up too late. Go back and rest early. You’ve had a long day.” Yi Yao looked at the two piles of documents on her desk and left after giving her some advice.

The entire law firm instantly became extremely quiet, leaving only the light in Su Yanxi’s office. She was already used to working overtime like this. To her, work was everything.

An hour passed unknowingly again. It was already midnight. Su Yanxi was flipping through the documents while typing something on the computer. The pen in her hand would also mark the documents from time to time.

After typing the last word on the computer, Su Yanxi habitually reached for the coffee cup beside her. Her beautiful almond-shaped eyes stared at the documents on the table as she brought the cup to her mouth, but she did not manage to drink the coffee.

Su Yanxi then retracted her gaze from the document. She glanced at the cup and realized that she had finished her coffee. She looked up at the door of the office and sighed slightly. She had no choice but to get up and prepare the coffee.

She frowned slightly and covered her aching area with one hand. She bent down and pulled out a white medicine bottle from the drawer, only to realize that the pills were gone.

The pain was getting more and more intense. Su Yanxi knew that her chronic gastric problem was acting up again. She raised her wrist to look at the time and endured the pain to pack up her documents and computer before leaving the law firm.

The pain in her stomach made her frown even more. After getting into the car, Su Yanxi took a deep breath and drove to the nearby hospital to get to an emergency ward.

There were not many people in the Emergency Department in the wee hours of the morning. During the consultation, the doctor checked her condition. When he saw that there was no one around her, he asked curiously, “Are you alone?”

“Mhm.” The intense pain made her face turn pale. Even her voice sounded weak.

“You’re having acute gastritis. Did you used to have stomach pains all the time?” The doctor asked as he wrote something down.

“Mhm.” Ever since she opened this law firm with Mo Bai, her eating habits had never been normal. Slowly, she began to have gastric problems, and it became something she was used to.

“Take some painkillers and I’ll put you on a drip first!” The doctor prescribed medicine on the computer and specially said, “It’s better for you to inform the family members. Although stomach problems are chronic problems, you have to take good care of your stomach. Otherwise, even stomach cancer is possible.”

“Alright, thanks.”

Su Yanxi paid the bill alone and was about to head to the transfusion hall when a familiar tall and handsome figure walked over from afar. When the handsome figure saw her, he stopped in his tracks.
