Chapter 27：Let Her Have a Taste of Hardship

She finally knew that the Mr. Chen wasn't who she thought he was. He was Mr. Chen that everyone spoke of, and he was actually the Master Lu that members of the Lu family spoke of.

He was the real master of the Lu family, the man with power and billions in wealth.

However, she rejected his suggestion in the end.

She wanted a divorce, but it was not because of him.

It did not make sense for her to jump from one trap into another. Compared to Lu Qinghao and his family, Lu Yuchen was much scarier.

Outside the Tang family home, Tang Xinluo pressed on the doorbell. A black luxury car was parked a stone throw away.

In the car, Meng Ze was on the phone.

"Master Lu, I've sent her back… those people are at the Tang family home, too."

The people sent out this morning had sent news that the Old Madam of the Tang family was in town with her youngest daughter. They were probably waiting for Tang Xinluo in the Tang family home.

The relatives of the Tang family were all back-up that Lu Qinghao had brought back. First, there was the adultery and then the fuss. Lu Qinghao had all sorts of tricks up his sleeve to use against Tang Xinluo.

Lu Yuchen's cold voice came from the other end of the phone. "Leave them be, but interfere when necessary."

The woman had not seen how treacherous people could be so she rejected the protection that he offered. Since that was the case, he would not ward off those people for her. Then, she would see how cruel reality was and understand that she could not do anything without him.

"Yes, Master Lu." Meng Ze hung up the phone and looked towards Tang Xinluo who was outside the villa.

The door to the villa was opened.

"Miss, you're back? Didn't you and…?" The servant, who opened the door, was rather surprised to see Tang Xinluo.

"I what?" Tang Xinluo asked with a raised brow.

A hint of panic flashed across the servant's face. "No-nothing. It's good that you're back, miss. Old Madam and Madam just got back a while ago."

Tang Xinluo frowned instinctively. "Granny and Auntie are back?"

"Yes, Miss Mier came back, too. And…" The servant cut herself out, feeling like she had said too much.

Tang Xinluo's attention was all on the servant's words from earlier so she did not catch the anomaly.

"I understand; go upstairs and get my glasses." She did not feel safe without her glasses. After a while, the servant delivered the glasses into her hand.

Everything became clearer when she put on her thick-rimmed glasses. Even so, they could not cover her good looks. Tang Xinluo sat on the bench and took a few deep breaths to recover herself before she headed into the villa.

The dining room was empty, and Tang Xinluo felt that it was weird to not have heard Old Madam Tang's iconic loud voice.

She motioned towards the servant from earlier. "Where are they?"

The servant looked at her before stammering out. "The st-study…"

Tang Xinluo's expression changed, and she hurried towards the study. She would not believe that mother-daughter tandem was not scheming anything since they went straight for the study the minute they returned.

At the door of the study, she heard the unique, loud of the Old Madam.

"When's that useless thing returning?! Did you find everything? Are they all here?"

The butler's trembling voice could be heard moments later. "Old Madam, all the documents are here. Madam asked Miss to keep them properly before she went to the hospital. I've kept tabs on them as per your request. As for Miss, she should be back slightly later."

'Chen' here is another family name that is a homophone of Lu Yuchen's name.
