Chapter 24:Help Her to Teach the Shrew a Lesson

"Mrs. Lu, I implore you to stop talking and follow me out of the room with haste." The old butler was so worried he was going to cry. He had watched Young Master grow up. When Young Master spoke pleasantly with Butler Meng, he was showing the old man some affection. The old butler had no wish to stay around and embarrassed his master.

If it really annoyed the Young Master, he wouldn't give any leeway even if that person was Old Madam.

Assuming it was another mistress from any other families, she would be able to tell something was wrong about the situation a long time ago.

Alas, Gong Xuemei was merely a shortsighted woman. To explain things simply, she was a shrew from the marketplace. All she could think of was catching Tang Xinluo.

She would be able to seize the shares owned by the Tang family once she had got hold of the proof of Tang Xinluo's adultery. Gong Xuemei had not noticed the pressure in the room was getting lower by the minute.

"Butler Meng, I understand you don't want trouble. You can rest assured that my husband will take full responsibility regarding this matter. You can look for my husband if you encounter any issues."

The man had not said a word while Gong Xuemei was talking. The moment she finished, he finally broke his silence. "May I know who your husband is?"

He asked so casually without any hint of emotion.

Gong Xuemei thought the other party was afraid of her imposing manner. Feeling pleased with herself, she replied, "A gigolo like you finally knows it's time for you to repent. I'm worried you'll be terrified once I say it. My husband is Lu Zhihe from another branch of the Lu family. So? His name reverberates like thunder. Am I right? Humph! Heed my advice. Ask Tang Xinluo to show herself fast if you know what is good for you. Else, don't think of leaving this place today."

"Is that so?" Lu Yuchen's lips curled into an icy sneer. Butler Meng's complexion had already turned from white to purple.

What sort of woman had Lu Zhihe married? Not only did she have poor observation skills, but she had also offended Young Master over and over again.

"Uncle Meng, remove your hand."

Lu Yuchen gave Gong Xuemei a cold glare while the corners of his lips showed menace. "Since Mrs. Lu holds Mr. Lu in such high esteem, let's see if the almighty Mr. Lu—whom you speak of—has the capability to bring you back home safely."

"Lu Qi, come in."

At his command, more than ten men dressed in full black suits ran into the room in two neat rows. The tight lines of their suits couldn't even cover their strong, muscular body. Not one bit.

There was nothing simple about each of these men.

"What are your instructions, Master Lu?" Their leader looked cool without an ounce of emotion on his face.

He was Lu Qi. Within the Lu family, Lu Qi had the same status as Fourth Master Lu and Lu Zhihe. However, when compared to Lu Zhihe, Lu Yuchen's status was way higher.

Lu Yuchen tapped his jaw lightly. "Take her away. Whatever arrangement after this is up to you. Inform Lu Zhihe once everything has been set."

Since this old hag liked to use Lu Zhihe's status to bully the others, he would love to see if Lu Zhihe had the capability to redeem his woman back.

"Bear this in mind—assist Fourth Master Lu when he needs it." The amount of money spent was insufficient; might as well give the man a lift. After all, it was impossible for him to make a high profit from the sale of a woman with advanced age.

"Yes, Master Lu." Lu Qi bowed his head respectfully and promptly began his work.

She was still clueless as to whom she had actually offended even when she was being brought out of the house.

"Young Master…" All left except Lu Yuchen and Butler Meng.

"It's fine. You were only acting according to Old Madam's instruction. You may leave."

Lu Yuchen knew why Butler Meng had stayed until the end. The old butler was curious to see which lady his master had brought into the room last night. However, before the dust settled, he had no intention of letting Old Madam know.

Butler Meng had figured his Young Master's temper a long time ago. He knew his master was reluctant to tell him, and so he left respectfully. A warning sounded behind him as he reached the doorway.

"There's no need to alarm Old Madam about what happened today."

Butler Meng paused mid-stride and nodded his head in agreement. After closing the door for his master, he left.
