Chapter 29 - Erza's eye

(Erza POV)

It's a new day…

Morning arrived and I walked towards the guild with Lazarus strapped to my side

I may not be able to wield him in combat, but I can't just put him inside of my Requip storage…

-"Yeah, that would be quite uncomfortable for me…"- Lazarus suddenly said through our mind link.

-"Don't worry, I'll grown strong enough so we can fight together once more soon enough!"- I said to my new partner.

-"Well, even if you can't wield me per say, you can still use some of my passive abilities as long as our link stays connected."- Lazarus replied.

-"Yeah, that would definitely be useful…"- I thought back to when I used Future vision against Gifernes…

A very useful ability…

"Ahhh, You're here Erza! Come on, we can't be keeping Porlyusica waiting for long, else she'll become hard to deal with…" The master said with a seemingly annoyed expression on his face.

"Right." I simply replied and followed him.

Apparently this 'Porlyusica' person lives somewhere in the forest near Magnolia.

According to Master Makarov she doesn't like other people very much and thus would rather stay away from them.

Seems shady…

-"Very shady…"- Lazarus said in a low tone.

It wasn't long before we arrived in front of an old shack in the woods

"Porlyusica! We're here." The short old master yelled out, calling out to the person inside.

Soon afterwards a slim and tall elderly woman with pink hair, tied in a bun on the back of her head by two large pins with crescent moon shaped edges and reddish eyes opened the front door and came out.

"Here I was wondering who it was this early in the morning, turns out it's just a midget old man and a young girl." The elderly woman sneered.

"Now, now don't be like that! We talked about this already, won't you help her regain her sight?" Master replied in a pleading manner.

"Haaaaa… Fine, let me see her…" Porlyusica said and walked to where we were standing.

"Take that eyepatch off, I wanna get this over with quickly so you can both leave." She said to which I quickly complied.

-"I guess what the old man said about her was only the half of it… I mean, c'mon! You two just met each other! Would trying to be nice kill her?"- Lazarus commented.

After Porlyusica examined me for a few seconds she spoke.

"Hmmm… That's a horrid wound… It will be quite difficult for you to see again, yes…" She said while holding her chin in a thinking pose.

"Now, now… I'm asking you nicely so no complaining. She's got such a pretty face, have some compassion would you?" Master Makarov said while crossing his arms.

That earned him a glare from Porlyusica, who grabbed his ear and pulled him away

"Come here for a moment." She said in a kind of playful tone.

"Oww-owww-owww-ow!" The master winced in pain.

"You're not thinking of laying your hands on here when she's older, are you?" Porlyusica asked him as she lifted him up in the air only by holding his ear.

"O-of course not…" Makarov replied.

-"Am I watching some sort of skit?"- I asked Lazarus.

-"Pretty sure we both are…"- I replied.

Porlyusica then looked to me and asked the master.

"Where is she from?"

"Well, it seems that Rob was helping her out…" He paused after saying.

"Rob?! Where is he now?" Surprise appeared on Porlyusica's face as she asked.

"It seems he's dead…" The master replied with a sigh after which I could no longer look either of them in the eyes…

These two are Grampa Rob's old friends… And I'm the reason he's gone…

It's my fault he died…

So how could I possibly look them in the eyes?

-"That wasn't your fault. That man gave his life to protect you, what he did was admirable. An act of love like that shouldn't be dismissed as someone's fault."- Lazarus said trying to comfort me.

Since our link was established, our thoughts and memories had been merged, so we couldn't really hide much from each other…

On the other hand, because of that I'm able to trust Lazarus and what he says. There is a sort of feeling that tells me he has my best interests in mind when we talk.

Porlyusica looked at me with pity before sighing deeply.

"Haaaaa… Alright then… Erza was it? Come on inside, I'll see what I can do about that eye of yours…" She said and gestured towards her house.

"Yes…" Replying like so I walked together with her inside.

After we entered she took out a book and started reading something from it.

"Go on, take a seat. This might take a while…" She said to which I simply nodded and sat on a bed that was next to the window.

She started working on something but I couldn't really understand any of it…

I mostly spent my time there talking with Lazarus over various things…

There wasn't really much else to do in the meantime…

About an hour later she began doing a sort of surgery on me, placing a new eye she created in my currently empty eye socket.

She wrapped my eyes with a blind fold and told me to stay like that for a while.

So, I lied down and waited for her to tell me when it was time to take it off...

Will this actually work…?

I'm starting to worry now…

Another hour later, she finally told me to sit back up and removed the blind fold herself.

"How is it?" She asked with an indifferent but soft voice, while handing me a mirror.

I began to slowly open my eyes…

Subconsciously preparing myself to see the grotesque sight my eye had become previously…

But then when I finally looked at myself in the mirror…

I gasped in shock.

"I-It's healed!" I said, my mouth agape and eyes opened wide.

"Can you see?" She asked with her still indifferent voice.

"Yes…" I replied, sort of uncertain about it…

But I really could see again!

"Then get out, immediately. I hate humans, get it?" Her indifferent voice didn't even register in my brain as I was still focused on the mirror.

"It's healed…" I mumbled once more with a smile plastered on my face…

This made me so happy that tears started flowing down uncontrollably…

"You… That eye…!" Porlyusica gasped as she looked at me.

"You're only crying out of one eye…" Porlyusica continued, after which I checked the mirror once more to make sure.

I really was…

"That shouldn't be… I didn't make an error while mixing the medicine… And yet…" Porlyusica mumbled as she turned the pages of some book of hers.

"It's okay!" I blurted out.

"I've already cried out half my tears, you see..." I said with a still present smile.

So what if I can't cry from one eye?

I'm just happy I can see again…

-"I'm happy for you Erza, I honestly didn't trust that woman to be able to fix you but apparently I was wrong! Congratulations on regaining your sight!"- Lazarus said with a genuinely happy tone.

He could feel what I felt, which included my happiness. So that affected him in a way.

Making him happy in return.

Porlyusica sighted and pointed towards the exit.

"If that's the case then you can spare me the pŀėȧsurė of your company." After saying so she turned her back to me and returned to her books.

"Thank you… Truly, thank you for this." I said with a low bow.

"Ughh…. Just leave already!" She stood up and took a broom walking towards me.

And that was my que to leave...

After running out of the house, I saw the master was still waiting for me outside.

No words were needed, as our eyes met everything was transmitted and the Master smiled a wide grin.

I also smiled at him.

"I see Porlyusica managed to do her job! Ain't that great Erza? Hahaha!" The master laughed heartily, he seemed happy for me.

"Yes, Thank you for doing this… it really means a lot." I said with the tears still glinting a sheen from my left eye…

"Hahaha! Don't mention it kiddo! If I can help one of the kids at the guild with something like that I'd do it in a heartbeat. Now then, why don't we return to the guild and have a celebration?" The master said with another grin on his face.

"Heh, another one? We just had one yesterday didn't we? Hahaha!" I chuckled at the suggestion, but I wouldn't decline it.

"Haha why wouldn't we? Come one, everyone will be thrilled at the good news!" And with that we both walked towards the guildhall…

What we saw inside it when we got back was…

Interesting…

"Okay so let me get this straight…" Arthur paused for a moment after saying that to the group of people sitting in a 'Seiza' position, with their knees together and sitting on their ankles…

They all had weights over their legs…

"I'm gone for… what? A day? Maybe a bit more? And when I return I learn what exactly…

That you've ruined half of the kingdom?!" Arthur slammed the table next to him and yelled out at the guild members sitting in front of him.

"Arthur! Arthur… We've known each other for a fair amount of time haven't we…? Can't you spare us a little bit? Haha… Haaa…" Macao said with a weak laughter.

"Heeeehh? Can I now? Well then… maybe I could… If I didn't have to fix literally EVERYTHING!" Arthur was still yelling

He seems mad…

-"Very… You don't think we should wait for a bit?"- Lazarus asked

-"Hehe… That may be a good idea…"- I replied with a deadpan expression on my face.

"Look! We can make up for it aight? We won't break anything after this I swear!" Wakaba pitched in.

"Yeah, we'll all be more careful next time! So let us go already!" Gray said obviously annoyed at the current situation.

"I'm going to do better from now on too! C'mon Arthur-nii!" Cana said while a bit teary, though she seemed to be faking it…

"We'll listen to you! We won't break stuff! Please just remove these things from our legs already!" Eeeeehhhhhh? Even Gildarts is there!

The other guild members also pleaded Arthur to release them.

He moved closer towards them and gave them a long:

"Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm…." Before finally…

"Tsk… Fine… {Telekinesis}." Saying so the weights flew into the air and then moved in front of Arthur who placed them all into his so called 'Storage'.

"I swear if you end up breaking that much shit again I'm going to force you to fix it yourselves!" He said to the members that were now standing up.

Seriously…

What the hell happened?

(Arthur POV)

These idiots have piled up so much work for me to do…

it's unbelievable!

"Alright, break it up you brats!" I suddenly heard Gramps' voice and turned around

"Oh! Gramps! Erza! You're both back! How'd it go-" I was saying before cutting myself short.

Erza had both her eyes now! Sweet!

Well not that I didn't know of this outcome, but actually witnessing it now is able to fix my mood by allot…

"Hey there… Arthur… The doctor's procedure was successful… I can see again." Erza said with a small smile on her face.

"That's great! Congratulations Erza!" I said with a big smile on my face.

Yes, this does fix my mood quite a bit…

"Eh?! Yo, you guys! Look! Erza's eye patch is gone!" Macao pointed out and everyone looked at her.

"You're right! Whoa you look allot better without that eye patch kiddo!" Wakaba commented

"Oui, a face worthy of a painting." Reedus said and started stroking a piece of paper with his paint brush, no doubt drawing Erza without her eye patch.

"Eh? What do you mean see again? Was your eye blind before?" Cana poked her head out in between the other members and asked.

"I… I… Uhh…" Erza was thrown in a vortex of questions and comments, no doubt making her feel uncomfortable.

"Alright people, let the girl breathe! Sheesh…" Gramps finally said and they stopped the barrage of questions.

"Erza went to see Porlyusica this morning, she had an eye problem as many of you had probably guessed. Now it's fixed. End of story…" Gramps paused for a moment.

"Now let's throw a celebration for that! Hahahaha!" Gramps then suddenly yelled out, but it didn't really surprise me.

"Yeahhhh! Someone go buy more booze!" Cheering could once more could be heard from the fairy tail guild hall.

"Another one… And it's bȧrėly the afternoon… Haha…" I still questioned it, even though I'm honestly used to this kind of behavior by now…

"A joyous event calls for a joyous party!" Macao replied.

"Aight. But you lot are cleaning the hall afterwards, I have allot of ruins to fix after all…" I said.

"Geh…" They all looked at gramps.

"Ah, right… How much do you PLAN TO BREAK ANYWAY?! HALF THE KINGDOM?! TO GET ARTHUR THAT MAD HOW MUCH DID YOU BRATS ACTUALLY BREAK THIS TIME?!" Gramps roared out, now reminded about the damages I mentioned they caused…

"Ahh! Master please calm down! It's honestly not that bad…!" Macao pleaded

"Well then, I'll be off to fix about thirty towns and cities worth of damages… Have fun y'all!" I said and opened a gate leading to one of the devastated towns.

The last thing I heard was Erza giggling and the cries of despair of the fairy tail members confronting gramps…

Yikes…
