Chapter 68 - Bringing In Her Closest People

Shen Xia walked through the doors of the factory that had ceilings three stories high. The facility had lines of assembly workers putting together the robots instead of using actual machines. While this was good for the economy and gave people jobs, the price of production was high. This was not something Shen Xia wanted to pay for when developing her new line of robots. She planned to have all the robots made by her to do the assembly process. It would also cut down on any company secrets being stolen and allow her to have a speedy creation time once she streamlines the process.

"Xiaxia, what do you think?" Old Mo asked.

"Hmm. I will be keeping the 3D printer setups as they are useful in creating certain parts, but the assembly workers are too slow and are prone to making mistakes." Shen Xia scratched her head.

"This is true. I had planned to have robots take over the assembly in the future, but those old bastards kept telling me not to waste money when it would be more productive to have robots doing the assembly." Old Mo sighed. He had many headaches as the CEO of the company that was public.

"This I can relate to..." Old Yun knew how much money the company could have saved and reinvested into R&D if they had machines doing more of the jobs in the factory.

"You really only need a team for quality checking to make sure there were no hiccups in the system at each station. Although the new factory systems will be fully robotic when I finish building the new machines." Shen Xia said as she turned around. She saw no need to continue looking at an assembly line where nothing was really being done that was interesting. "Grandpa Yun, let's go to the other company."

"Alright!" Old Yun smiled. He could tell Shen Xia was a little disappointed with the factory. It did not seem to be what she had expected. He was right on this. Shen Xia had expected the assembly lines to be more robotic. She wanted to see how things worked and walk down the line to watch the whole process. But unfortunately, there was nothing but humans piecing together the robot vacuums, which was not interesting to her at all.

After visiting the other company and dealing with the board, and then checking the facilities, Shen Xia went back to Old Mo's company and went to the top floor where the CEO's office was. All the secretaries looked at her nervously as she walked by without saying a word. She felt bad, but all these girls would be laid off soon. She had planned to bring Lilith in as her personal assistant and Quan Xinya as her one and only secretary. Personal secretaries got paid a lot of money, and this was something Shen Xia did not wish to pay out. Not when she was shrinking the company down to only a handful of people for the time being. Once she got things rolling for her new home assistant robot and had the assembly lines all set up, she wanted to move on to other things as well.

Her new office was filled with antique furniture that gave a very calming feeling as Shen Xia entered it. The old men had already gone off to prepare a few things of their own to help Shen Xia out for the company. Right now, she wanted to get her new office organized and begin preparing for what was to come.

The office was rather big enough for more than just a desk. She wanted to renovate it a bit and move things around so that there was actually a workbench in her office as well as other high-tech equipment. This would allow her to create smaller prototypes of things without needing to go anywhere. Although she would only be here for around a year, she still wished to have a spot to tinker around in.

She traced her hand over the large leather chair before pulling it out and sitting down. She looked out across the table and smiled. Although unseen to the naked eye, Shen Xia's ears and tails were twitching and wagging. She was truly excited about the future. She picked up the phone next to her, paused a second before deciding to call both Lilith and Quan Xinya over.

An hour later, two young girls walked into the office with smiles on their faces as they looked at the girl behind the desk. "Xiaxia… Or should I say, Miss Ceo!?" Quan Xinya teased.

"Whatever you want since I will soon be your big boss." Shen Xia teased back, but her words both caught the two by surprise.

"Us?" Lilith asked.

"Yes. I want you, Lilith, to be my personal assistant and Xinya to be my secretary. This way, I can have you two by my side at all times." Shen Xia answered.

"As long as you are paying!" Quan Xinya said teasingly.

"Of course! I would never ask the two of you to work for me for free." Shen Xia would never make them work for free since they would indeed be working.

"So, how does it feel?" Lilith asked. She figured suddenly becoming the CEO of two major companies would be a big experience for Shen Xia. She wondered what one would feel like when such a thing happened to them.

"It is surreal. But the two big companies will be combined then shrunk into a new company that is more like a startup. I have a lot of work to do and a lot of firing to do as well. It will still be a long process still." Shen Xia explained. She really did find everything to be out of the blue and amazing. She never thought a hobby that started from a school project would bring her this far.

"Well, we will both help you the best we can." Lilith walked over and hugged Shen Xia.. This was followed up by Quan Xinya not wanting to be left out, so she joined in as well.
