Chapter 36 - Spot

"Xiaxia, what are you doing?" Quan Xinya asked as she leaned over and looked at Shen Xia's laptop.

"Well, from the pamphlet, we are building a small dog robot, right? Well.. it would be a shame to have a dog robot that didn't look cute. So I thought, what if we 3D printed out some body casings to make it look like an actual cute dog?" Shen Xia had been searching online for either premade parts or ways to do it on her own. She didn't want their little robot pup to be naked the entire time.

Quan Xinya chuckled and shook her head. "You truly are a strange one, that is for sure."

"How is it strange!? Look at it now! Don't you feel sorry for Little Spot? All his parts are visible..." Shen Xia had already grown attached to their little robot, and it was not even fully put together.  Its head was still off to the side, and the legs had not even been put on. They were still in the beginning stages of putting it all together.

"Xiaxia..." Lilith shook her head but did not continue the subject, instead, she changed the subject and turned to Dian Na. "Nana, how is the coding coming along?"

"I already set up the basic movement and motion detection. We need to get it fully assembled, or we will not be able to test it." Dai Na replied since she had been made a blood slave, the girls had calling Dai Na by the nickname Nana.

"Then let's switch things up a bit. Xinya, help Xiaxia with creating the body casing. I will assemble it, and Nana will code it." Lilth decided since everyone was off doing their own thing that she would just hand out jobs. They were so caught up with handling Dai Na's situation that they had not settled on who was doing what the previous night.

"I don't think Xiaxia is paying attention." Quan Xinya looked at Shen Xia, who was tapping away at the keyboard, oblivious to the things around her.

This project was one of the last big projects of their senior year before final exams, and Shen Xia wanted to go all out. Besides working on the project, she also needed to cultivate and work out, so her daily schedule was already filled with activities. As the days passed, her life became peaceful once again. She found herself really enjoying the coding process of building her little spot into something amazing that she could be proud of and say she did her best on. When she presented her code for Spot, the other three girls immediately implemented it. They found the extra additions to be quite amazing and were surprised that Shen Xia ever came up with it all.

One thing Shen Xia had noticed was that her ability to concentrate and learn was slowly getting better. Her ability to understand the things she was learning was also improving. She could only suspect that this was all due to her cultivating every night. 

Cultivating was no different than sleeping, well, to Shen Xia anyway. She always felt refreshed after a full night of cultivating. She no longer tried to sleep after that dream.  Luckily the devilish man was no longer coming around as far as she knew. But she had a strange feeling as of late that someone has been brushing her tail while she was cultivating. She had noticed that her tail seemed to have been fluffed and felt softer than usual. 

This was only her speculation because once she entered her most serene state, she was unable to perceive the world around her. She always seemed to fall into a deep sense of enlightenment as she rotated her fuzzy wuzzy energy.

Only if she knew that Kable had been stopping in once and a while to brush her tail and not just him, her grandmother, Quan Xinya, Shen Lingxin, even Lilith would join in on the tail fluffing while Shen Xia was cultivating. This was only because Shen Xia refused to let the others fluff her tail during the day, so they had to do it secretly.

But Shen Xia's quiet time did not last long. After a week of peace, Shen Xia was walking out of the school building with Quan Xinya, Shen Lingxin, Lilith, and Dai Na when She was stopped by a bodyguard with a bald head wearing a black suit. "Miss Shen, Master Shen would like to speak with you."

Shen Xia frowned and looked at the bodyguard with narrowed eyes: "My grandfather is already living with me. If he wishes to speak with me, all he has to do is wait for me to come home."

"Miss Shen, you seem to not understand. The Master Shen I speak of is the current master of the Shen family. Shen Chen." The bodyguard explained.

"Hmm? What does the Shen family head want to speak to me about? I have nothing to do with the Shen family since they kicked me out of the family. I have not spoken to him or seen him in almost ten years, so I do not believe there is anything for us to speak about. So if you excuse me." Shen Xia did not wish to deal with that man. She did not think she could control her anger for a man who would scheme against his own flesh and blood. She shifted the bag on her back and went to step around the bodyguard, but he moved to block her way again.

"Miss Xia, please do not make me have to get rough." The bodyguard reached out to grab Shen Xia's shoulder, but before his hand could even touch a hair on her body Lilith, Quan Xinya, and Dai Na had already moved. The bodyguard swallowed hard when he felt two sharp objects poking his back and stomach and a cold object resting against his neck. 

"Stop!" Shen Xia shouted. She wanted to stop the three girls before they did something they shouldn't. She then looked at the bodyguard, who was visibly sweating, and spoke in a calm voice as she said: "I think it's best if you go back and tell your master if he wishes to speak to me, he can do so in front of my grandfather. All he is to me is a stranger who has nothing to do with me.. If he does this again, I do not mind letting them finish the job they started."
